Do You Recall a Special Day of FUN and Laughter? September 30, 2005 4:10 PM

We all encounter good and bad days... We often recall them with anger or regret or nostalgia...  I'd like to know whether you have any fond memories of a fun time with your deceased loved ones......?

Good question October 03, 2005 9:47 PM

It is hard to pick just one - there were good times and bad, but I try to mostly remember the good ones and use them when I can to get a lift.  One day was with a good friend and our family at the Great America theme park.  Laurel loved roller coasters and rides with great height, like the parachute drop.  I love coasters as well, but could not get myself on the purely high rides - so our friend went with her on every ride she wanted.  He was more than a friend, and I regret that the woman he married cut him off from his family and friends.  So, the memory is bittersweet - a marvelously fun day, but with two people who are no longer in my life.  [ send green star]

Last time Tony and I went to California, I guess it was in 2001.  We visited some of his relatives, rented a car and "played tourists".  The day that I enjoyed the most was when we went to the Sequoia Park.  Knowing how much I love nature, Tony suggested it, and it proved to be a bright idea!  On our way to the park, we stopped for lunch at a small, quaint restaurant ...  they had a small pond with ducks and a reproduction of an old Western town.  Cute.  But the trees were magnificent!  We took lots of pictures and walked a lot...  It was fun!  I have many fond memories of that day!

Giuliana, trees are such healing resources from nature... October 06, 2005 7:02 PM

Giuliana, trees are such healing resources from nature. I envy your trip to see the land of tall trees that touch the sky and know God's voice. You my dear friend have been blessed. For this I am grateful for you and Tim and your lovely spiritual presences on this group. You both light it up brightly when it needs a tender loving touch and some warm spots.

My memory of my niece Rachel, was of one time when she was allowed to spend some time with us in New York. She spent the night and it was fun, relaxed and mellow and I got to see what a bright soul she was developing into as a young girl.  We let her long, curly hair down and I snapped a delightful picture of her that weekend in an oversized t-shirt which was her night shirt and it is amongst my favorites. She would have been nineteen this past Sunday folks.

We had an unusual visitor this past Sunday that has not returned since her birthday and I do believe it was a sign as I had been promised. Every one of those signs gives me hope.  I bid you all peace & blessings and may you all recieve an unexpected sign from your loved ones. ---ginger

Ginger and Guiliana October 06, 2005 8:38 PM

Ginger, I sincerely hope that last Sunday was okay - dates like that can be so very difficult!!!

Guiliana, I've never been to Sequoia, but love Yosemite and the redwood trees in general...I always find a peace and calm in them.  Yosemite is a long day trip, but we took it almost yearly to enjoy the waterfalls, redwood grove, and incredible beauty of the Valley.  For me, Half Dome is a mystical symbol from which I draw strength and peace.  I can sit and stare at it for hours.

Thank you both for your friendship and caring!

My Dear Friends, October 08, 2005 11:45 AM

Ginger, my dear, I'm glad you received a sign  How fortunate! I think it's always some sort of a little, special present meaning they haven't forgotten and love us too!

Yosemite was on our list, Tim...  But we didn't get the chance to go...  I'm sure it would have been a fantastic trip!  I think I'll post pictures from the Sequoia Park in my Care2 photo album...  I'll let you know when.

With love to you both,

Giuliana aka Princess Little Rock
