I waas looking at a website reviewing all the upcoming hybrids from Japan from Honda, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Subaru, etc. Very impressive. Honda is striving to make a hybrid priced like an Accord!  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
Hybrids September 13, 2005 12:11 PM

I just wonder if most people purchase hybrids vehicle, would gas prices increase in result of lack of incoming revenue to the oil commpanies? I wonder if in few years from now, we'll end up paying the same prices to fill a hybrid that we are paying TODAY to fill-up a gas motor only vehicle. FOOD FOR THOUGHT!  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
Optimality of hybrid cars? September 13, 2005 12:14 PM

With the additional initiasl expense of buying a hybrid which is about $4000 or $5000 more than a conventinal gas powered auto plus the added expense of a replacement batter at about $8000 or $10,000, it is not optimal to buy a hybrid car at this time and makes more economic sense at this point in time to buy a fuel efficient gas powered caa like the Honda Civic or Toyota Echo. You have to look at the total picture, or as the economists say, total cost.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
