There were ninety and nine that safely lay In the shelter of the fold. But one was out on the hills away, Far off from the gates of gold. Away on the mountains wild and bare. Away from the tender Shepherds care. Away from the tender Shepherds care.
Lord, Thou hast here Thy ninety and nine; Are they not enough for Thee? But the Shepherd made answer: This of Mine Has wandered away from Me; And although the road be rough and steep, I go to the desert to find My sheep, I go to the desert to find My sheep.
But none of the ransomed ever knew How deep were the waters crossed; Nor how dark was the night the Lord passed through Ere He found His sheep that was lost. Out in the desert He heard its cry, Sick and helpless and ready to die; Sick and helpless and ready to die.
Lord, whence are those blood drops all the way That mark out the mountains track? They were shed for one who had gone astray Ere the Shepherd could bring him back. Lord, whence are Thy hands so rent and torn? They are pierced tonight by many a thorn; They are pierced tonight by many a thorn.
And all through the mountains, thunder riven And up from the rocky steep, There arose a glad cry to the gate of Heaven, Rejoice! I have found My sheep! And the angels echoed around the throne, Rejoice, for the Lord brings back His own! Rejoice, for the Lord brings back His own!
(Words by Elizabeth Clephane, 1868. Music by Ira Sankey, 1874.)
Oh, Great God, be small enough to hear me now. There were times when I was crying from the dark of Daniel's den; And I have asked you once or twice if You would part the sea again. But tonight I do not need a fiery pillar in the sky. Just want to know you're gonna hold me if I start to cry. Oh great God, be small enough to hear me now.
Oh great God, be close enough to feel You now. (Oh great God be close to me ) There have been moments when I could not face Goliath on my own. And how could I forget we've march around our share of Jerichos. But I will not be setting out a fleece for You tonight. Just want to know that everything will be alright. Oh, great God, be close enough to feel You now.
All praise and all the honor be; To the God of ancient mysteries. Whose every sign and wonder turn the pages of our history. But tonight my heart is heavy, And I cannot keep from whispering this prayer. Are You there?
And I know You could leave writing on the wall that's just for me. Or send wisdom while I'm sleeping, like in Solomon's sweet dreams. But I don't need the strength of Samson or a chariot in the end... Just Want to know that You still know how many hairs are on my head. (Are you small enough?) Oh, great God, be small enough to hear me now.
He Still Calls me Son John Waller April 23, 2009 5:20 AM
This song has helped me to remember that God takes me back. He doesn't walk away from me, rather me from him. He loves me even when I can't like myself.
The sky is grey and the light is far
The sea is a rage within my heart
I turn my sight to the crashing waves
I cry in the night just to be saved
I need eyes to be my guide
I need a voice thats louder than mine
I need hope I need You
Cause I cant do this alone
Grace I call Your name
Oh wont Your smile fall over me
Im cracked and dry on hands and knees
Oh sweet grace rain down on me I need You grace
I pray for dawn a new day to live
I pray for mercy only Jesus gives
Though darkness falls and a million cry
I believe over all theres a greater light shining for us
Daily Strength 'As thy day thy strength shall be!' This should be enough for thee; He who knows thy frame will spare Burdens more than thou canst bare.
When thy days are veiled in night, Christ shall give thee heavenly light; Seem they wearisome and long, Yet in Him thou shalt be strong.
Cold and wintry though they prove, Thine the sunshine of His love; Or, with fervid heat oppressed, In His shadow thou shalt rest.
When thy days on earth are past, Christ shall call thee home at last. His redeeming love to praise, Who hath strengthened all thy days.
Avalon - If My People Pray January 03, 2009 3:28 AM
Let us pray to the Lord everlasting for He seeks to fill his children with every manner of good thing. For what father will give a scorpion when the child asks for a bit of bread. If who are imperfect know how to give good things to your children how much more will the father give to those that ask.
"Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door will be opened. If only you would come to me my child with a prayer of faith. Yes this faith though as small as a mustard seed I shall bless and increase till it be as big as a tree then the whole world shall know that you where blessed by be the one and only Lord of Hosts."
