1000 Trees for 10,000 Messages May 17, 2007 10:49 AM

To Celebrate reaching our first 1000 trees, Tree-Nation will match it by planting another 1000 trees. But first we need your creativity!

Tell us why you like trees, your thoughts about the environment and climate change, and post it as a message on our special message-tree. If we collect 10,000 messages from different people we will plant 1000 trees, and  give them away to YOU, a chance to receive a Tree for Free, so be creative!

Post your messages, and invite everyone to see them.
Make a difference and help us to plant 1000 Trees!

Tree-Nation will:
    * Plant 1000 trees!  A small forest to help grow our heart.
    * Give them away to YOU!  A chance to receive a Tree for Free.
    * Send the messages to the UNEP's Billion Tree Campaign and Wangari Maathai 'The Mother of Trees'.  An additional 10,000 voices to support their campaigns.

1000 Trees for 10,000 Messages!

Your message can be fun, poetic, environmental or just some passing thoughts.

You can add an image or simply words.

"Forests precede civilizations and deserts follow them"
The late eighteenth century French writer François-René de Chateaubriand

"Desertification is potentially the most threatening ecosystem change impacting livelihoods of the poor" (UNCCD). It is about land degradation caused by CLIMATE CHANGE and human-induced factors.

By planting a tree you will make a difference by helping to create a giant heart in Niger, the poorest country in the world, and one of the most affected by desertification. see project

You can use the interactive map to navigate the park and choose an exact spot to plant your tree or trees. With GPS coordinates your virtual tree corresponds to a real tree planted in the eco-park in Niger, so you and the whole world can always find it.

You can express yourself with your Tree-Blog, participate, meet friends and share ideas in the community. see community map

Together we will leave a trace of love
    in this world.
