The Adaptive Management Oversight Committee has modified the public comment period to accommodate additional public meetings in the New Mexico area.
Three subjects will be reviewed: the Five-Year Review of the Blue Range Mexican Wolf Reintroduction Project, the Five Standard Operating Procedures for the Reintroduction Project and a Proposed One-Year Moratorium on New Releases of Captive Mexican Wolves.
Meetings will be held at: Reserve, Wednesday , June 15, 6-9 p.m.; Silver City, Thursday, June 16, 6-9 p.m.; Truth or Consequences, Friday, June 17, 6-9 p.m.; and Albuquerque, Thursday, June 30, noon to 3 p.m.
Each meeting will begin with a 30-minute presentation on the three topics, then a 2-1/2 hour open forum session will offer the public a chance to make comments. The primary purpose of these meetings is for AMOC members to consider oral comments. Formal public comment must be submitted in writing since oral testimony will not be
recorded at the meetings. Copies of documents pertaining to the three topics are available at http://azgfd.gov/wolf and http://mexicanwolf.fws.gov. Details on the location and agenda for each meeting are available at these Web sites as well.
