I was a bit confused, here.  You aren't boycotting co-ops are you?  I LOVE the closest co-op to us!!!!  Shop there whenever I possibly can and support all they do for farmers and local growers!  I also inform people of the goodness of them and organic living!  blessings--Karen  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

sorry if my blog wasn't clear. no not boycotting co ops but suggesting more people join co ops to boycott the walmart/grocery chains.

One of my socialist friends here at Care2 stated I should avoid consumerism...don't buy anything...(Recently, this goal has been easier since I have no extra cash at all and have taken a delivery job on the side).

I have started using old towels more than paper towels, for example. I can live outside the realm of my impeccably manicured/pedicured neighbors...and they still like me (I'll do all theat stuff myself..or learn to!) I've cut my own hair...I should post a pic? Yes?

I've become very thrifty w/food and have become a wiser, even healthier shopper. My priorities are clearer.

(On a side note: Even the health food stores can be rip offs. Hypocrites...I would love to deface them, however, I think Trader Joe's is genuinely progressive. I think it would be great to send an email to Trader Joe's corporate office to let them know we appreciate their efforts toward having available more products earth and trade friendly! What do you all think??)

I like Trader Joe's!  But it is not a co-op and many of its products are not organic.  But are good to the taste!  [ send green star]

it is a national site where you can locate and join a group or groups close by to join where people post things they have to give away or loan and you can post things you may need to borrow or need.
it may help. i just joined and already found someone wanting a vcr ( which we have 3 that haven't been used in gosh don't know when) so happily met her and even threw in some tapes.
its great.
