Co-sleeping safely... June 14, 2005 5:49 PM

Hello to all!

How does one co-sleep safely with an 8 month old who can crawl (and does so the moment he wakes up-even in the middle of the night!).  This is my first child and the other day he fell out of the bed, which scared me to death.  Money is an issue, so I need suggestions that take the "money factor" in to consideration.  I hate to give up the connection my son and I share by sleeping side-by-side.

Thanks for any suggestions...

Could you push the bed up next to the wall and put the baby between you and the wall?  [ send green star]

I took the bed off the frame, which put it closer to the ground... I pusedit up in a corner... meaning two of the sides... where closed off And then I put the crib at the end of the bed... which meant three sides were closed off and I put pillows on the floor next to the bed....

YES... I know I was so very over protective

I slept on the outside... and my honey slept near the wall... and our little one in the middle

When I became a mommy... I became a LIGHT sleeper! And so if he moved... I was wide awake...

I know that what I did some may think a bit extream... but when it came to, still comes to the safety of my child... I do what I FEEL is best

Thank you both... June 16, 2005 6:37 PM

I apperciate the both of you for taking the time to reply!

I've already got the bed pushed into a corner, my problem was the end of the bed (need to get better at how I describe my problem -lol).  The crib at the bottom is a brilliant idea!

Thank You!~ Stephanie
