questions from a first time mother December 06, 2004 1:12 AM

i just found out i'm pregnant.. my question to you is how far along are you when you start throwing up.cause i know for the past week everynight at 8pm i've been sick up chucking. And also. When your pregnant do you get a Sinis Infection.cause for the last month i've had sinis problems was wondering if that is a sign of being pregnant.cause i honestly don't know how far i am along.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Depends... I know, horrible answer. With both my kids I got terribly sick right at the onset of pregnancy or just about. That's how I kenw I was pregnant with DD... WIth DS I was bedridden with a flu for days... with DS I felt like a Mack truck had driven over my body and stopped there... ugh!! As for the morning sickness, not only does that vary wtih mother but varies for each pregnancy! Most say that after the first trimester, it subsides... try not getting hungry. Nibble or graze on something throughout the day. I found with DD I had to eat something, even just one or two crackers every single hour or I'd get queasy sick... Some ladies find eating something before they get out of bed in the morning (Saltines by the bedside) helps. There's probably many other remedies out there too... just remember that it will pass... eventually. And if your vomiting a lot, replace the liquids with water or even something like Ensure that has nutrients in it. If it's unbearable see a doc asap.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

I agree it really does depend and it sucks to hear that. As a mother of 5 with #6 on the way I have been through them all. My morning sickness was unbearable with the girls and I was fine with the boys. I am pretty sure this is a boy because I havent had any! As for sinus infections that can vary alot as well. There are alot of changes going on right now and I am sure your body is less worried about your sinus's than alot of other things if you know what I mean. The only true way to find out how far you are is to see the Dr.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Congratulations Anne! :o) I never really had too much morning sickness, but I did have a lot of sinus issues. More just stuffiness, sinus pain etc. I had that with both my pg's. I found drinking A LOT of water (and I mean a lot! LOL) really helped. I hope you feel better! :o)  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
yeah a baby on the way!!! December 20, 2004 12:25 AM

sorry for my not exciting news, but with my last 2 boys i had morning sickness almost all day mostly after i ateor with smells...and i got heartburn... what i found to be really helpful was to keep some crackers and juice boxes next to my bed and in the morning when i woke i before getting up and out of bed i first ate a few and drank a little.then sat for a few min . and was a bit slower going untill i felt a little better. i also found that it kind of helped drinking pregnancy can get it pre boxed.i also drank a mixture of raspberry leaf and peppermint.peppermint helps yer tummy and red raspberry leaf helps strengthen yer uterus. and also i did find that having any extra kinds of peppermint on hand helped, like a peice of candy cane or any kind of peppermint type thing,so if yer in a car or on the go and start feeling woozy. i also heared that ginger helps with it.however i tried it and ginger was too strong for me,4 or 5 of my other friends swear by it. and yes water water water!!! i wish you well.what a beautiful gift you have been given. blessings!  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
