A boy : Sirius Methusalah A girl: Freya Ishtar Akka I personally don't care for simple names, I'd rather my children be slightly more unique. (I think that there are way too many Johns, Micheals, Anns and Sarahs, etc.) I also love middlenames because it gives a first name that is overused special meaning, if you really like the name and still want to use it.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Unique names December 18, 2004 1:52 AM

I love unique names myself- I have a daughter named Satori, and someday my son will be named Zen....  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Not that i'm having anymore.... December 18, 2004 6:09 AM

But If Tiggs had been a girl he would have been Hermione Olivia. I heard a name for a boy the other day I liked and now can't remember it.... just as well really. I've always liked unusal names but was quite sensible in naming mine. I have a Harriet Esther, a Hannah Isabelle (see the pattern? I would have had all H's!!) and a Tobias Robert John (Tiggs) I quite like Azjhlynne but no-one can pronounce it!!!  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Zen is really cool! My daughter has 2 middle names. I couldnt decide which one to use, so I used both, they're mine and her daddys middles. Marley Anne Ryan She would have be Elijah if she was a boy. I also like Rider.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

I always liked the names Jade Marie and Rain Caprie for girls, especially if they are twins. Sigh, I want two little girls so bad. For a boy I like Drake Aidan.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

children's names January 13, 2005 5:31 PM

Hey all, my children's names are probably ordinary, but beautiful to me. I have twin daughters named Sara Elizabeth and Erica Nicole, ages 22, and I have a 17 year old named Rachel Ann and a 15 year old named Emily Christine. Then I started all over again and have a 4 year old daughter named Jordan Mikaela. Finally, at age 38, I got my boy. He is now 2 years old and his name is Julian Daniel. I also have a grand-daughter named Isabelle Renee and a grand-daughter named Jayden Leigh. My first grand-daughter was born still and her name was Elizabeth Nicole, the middle names of her momma and her momma's twin. Anyway, I know they're all basically ordinary names but I wanted to brag too.HeeHee. Terry  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

i'm originally from Tecumsih, which is a little town south of Ann Arbor. i went to school over by Grand Rapids, and lived in Grand Haven up until 2000 when i moved here to Virginia. i really miss the lake, but not the winters!!! That Lake effect snow is such a nightmare. We still go up to visit a couple times a year though. We are hoping to go up for Blissfest this year, and go camping in Manastee. It is so beautiful there. What made you change your mind about moving to Floyd? Many Blessings, ~tree  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

No edit options. January 21, 2005 9:28 AM

I lived in Fxbg for about 4 years. I just got sick of all the traffic...I had to leave. Although the Floyd area is beautiful we just decided it was best for us to move out of VA all together. My husband has family here in Michigan so we decided to live here for a few years. I'm hoping to make it to the Northwst next. I asked someone about the Blissfest on here but never got a reply. I'm interested in going...when and where is it?  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Blissfest is great, it's one of my favorite festivals ever! It's always the second weekend in July. Here's a link http://www.blissfest.org/ Blissfest used to be in Bliss, now its in Cross village i believe, it's less than an hour from the Mackinaw bridge. There is also Wheatland which is much bigger, but not quite as kynd. http://www.wheatlandmusic.org/ Hiawatha which is up in the U.P., small but still a nice fest. http://www.portup.com/~hiawatha/main.html Also the Womyn's music fest http://www.michfest.com/ There are many more, but those are my favorites anyhow. Michigan has some really great folk festivals.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Sweet January 21, 2005 10:32 AM

Thanks. This year we are trying to catch all the festivals we can since Marley is older. She loves music and dancing so I can't wait for her to see some live music!  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
