*** Poetry Sheets Event *** January 16, 2006 12:41 PM

Hi and Welcome!

You are about to embark on a incredable and unique way to display your wonderful poems. This was created by one of our own care2 member's, Christopher Austin. He showed me how to make these beautiful sheets and he has given me his permission to share this with whomever wants to know about it.

This has never been done before and presented on the internet so by doing this we are establishing this new concept and we can spread this information out to others. Can you imagine how many wonderful poems will be made on these sheets and displayed beautifully for everyone's enjoyment?

Once you learn how to do these the possiblities are endless on how you can make them. You can display them in your Care2 photo albums, place them on your websites, even send them to friends and family. So much more beautiful to write a poem for a loved one for a birthday or anniversery and place it on a beautiful sheet you create for that perfect poem for them. What a gift!

To begin with you will need a copy of a blank black poetry sheet that is perfectly sized for the Care2 albums. Below is a blank one that you can copy onto your computer. Save this blank sheet on your hard drive.

Next you will need a computer program like Paint Brush for PC's. You can bring up the saved blank sheet from your hard drive with this program or a program like it. Once you have brought up the blank sheet you have to decide what color you want it to be. It can remain black or make it white or you can choose a color from the Paint for PC's program you have.

Now the fun begins. Search the web for places that have free fonts and borders. Pick what you want and copy it. Then open back up your paint for pc's with your sheet and paste the border copy. Depending on the type of border you have picked out, you might have to copy and paste enough to spread it all across the top of your poetry sheet.

You may not want to have a border go all across and may want a design instead to be placed in just the corners of your sheet. It is even possible that you may want a picture that spreads and covers the whole sheet. As I said, the posibilities are endless as to what you can do.

Below are some examples of sheets I made to give you an idea of what I am talking about.

When you place words in the sheets you must make sure that the words can be seen over the color on the sheets. You can't place dark lettering on top of dark colored sheets as the words will not come through for others to be able to read it. You might want to play around with the size of the lettering also. If the letters are small it might be hard for everyone to read the words.

Once you have completed making your poetry sheet with your poem on it you will have to save it to your hard drive and make it a jpg. If you have the sheet a bmp many computers may have trouble reading your poem. Jpg files are best for the poetry sheets to be seen.

You can view Christopher Austin's poetry sheets by going to his profile page and clicking on the picture he has posted there under his icon picture. (His icon is a poetry sheet that he made too with a poem titled: Autumn's Glory.)

The picture under his icon is an enterance into his Short & Sweet Verses Poetry sheets. I highly recomend that you take a look at his to get a good look at his wonderful creative style.
