Would You Send This Please

We have a long list of good friends whose husbands are deploying to Iraq next month. One of the wives sent me this. We feel compelled to send it on. Your prayers are deeply appreciated. These guys deserve our love, our hugs and most powerfully, our prayers.

Prayer Request:
I understand that life in Iraq is very difficult to bear right now.  Our troops need our prayers for strength, endurance and safety.

Send this on after a short prayer; please don't break it:

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen."

When you receive this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our troops around the world.

There's nothing attached; just send this to as many friends as you can. Do not let it stop with you, please -- of all the gifts you could give a US Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or Marine deployed in harm's way, prayer is
the very best!!!

Help support our soilders yes, but can we do this? July 28, 2006 11:06 PM

Tiye is so right on with this idea.

However, I was going to ask everyone in this group to help support the men and women of VAQ-142 "The Greywolves".

This is very close and personal to my heart and I hope some good can come from it.

My son-in-law just deployed one week ago with approximately three hundred other individuals.  They are in Afghanistan on a base assesable only by air and it is surrounded by land mines.

They are working 12 on 12 off and wearing cami's and hydration units.  My understanding is these are packs they wear constantly on their backs and drink and hydrate all day long.  They use portable toilets and have limited access to many things we take for granted.
Many have wives back home who send things, but those who are junior enlisted or single receive little if anything during their six month deployment.

Here is a list of articles they would appreciate:  If you have any ideas please ask.  All items can be shipped to where I am, and my daughter can get the shipping overseas paid for because she is a dependent and the squadron Ombudsman.

Gatorade in the plastic round containers
Energy Bars
Beef sticks
Beef Jerky all types
Baby Wipes (for the porta potties)
Hemp lotion or Cocoa Butter Lotion
Quality shampoo and conditioner
CD's of music
Magazines (No Playboy or pornography as
                      it will be confiscated)
Stamps
Envelopes
Writing Paper
Twinkies (LOL...they can withstand a tornado)

**Nothing chocolate as it will be blob when it gets there.  No alcohol, tobacco or pornography.

Thank you so much,

Lisa
