This is a home remedy that balances out the body.  It was given to me by an ayurvedic master - the most knowleable person I know on health.

Equal amounts of lemon juice, Ginger (either raw blended or dry) and honey in a glass jar.  Mix it up with a spoon take one tablespoon at a time several times day.At first it will seem very strong but actually gets alittle milder with age.

The important point is that healing takes time. Often the body just needs extra rest to balance so whatever you are using - don't expect it to turn things around right away. If it does, it may even keeping you from the rest and balance that the sickness is making avaialble.

I have used the home remedy that Randy. F suggests, I made it up in jars and gave it to my parents for Christmas. They loved it and add it to hot water when they have a sore throat, drizzle over ice cream for a treat or even just eat it by the spoonful! I used raw honey as I've heard that it is much better for you, has more enzyme activity etc.

That is very inovative of you Linda making it up in jars and giving it away. Would not reccoment the ice cream bit as it is mucous forming and not good for colds.

This is why we talk about natural ways.

A mixture of organic honey, oregano, cayenne pepper, and garlic taken twice a day can help you beat colds and flu faster. Oregano oil is also an excellent natural remedy for colds and flu as it acts as a natural antibiotic.

Thanks for sharing, I have always just used ginger and hot water and then mint whenever the stomach is upset, but appreciate this share...great time to read this because of all the snow and I feel sniffles coming.
