GREEN thumbs across the Border got their hands dirty yesterday planting thousands of trees for National Tree Day. At Beechworth and Baranduda more than 100 volunteers helped out. Around Australia more than 320,000 volunteers planted more than a million native trees at 3800 sites to mark the 10th National Tree Day. Beechworth Landcare Group project manager Donna Page said 30 people planted 600 trees, including bottle brush, tea tree and happy wanderers. “We chose this location because its very public and a good area to focus on education,” she said.  [ send green star]
