(US PA) Vote for Sen. Environment March 20, 2006 8:58 AM
Not supporting this Senator but giving important food for thought. We urgently need more people in power that are aware of the severe problems we all face.

Vote for Sen. Environment
THE MOST immediate danger to our global environment is our weakened perception of threat. Many people like to simply deny that a problem exists. These people hate to think about the future. Why should they?
Kurt Vonnegut calls these people "PP's (psychopathic personalities) a medical term for smart, personable people who have no consciences." Our senator from Pennsylvania, Rick Santorum, is such a person.
In 2005, he voted against requiring power plants to cut their greenhouse gas emissions and electric utilities to generate 10 percent of electricity from renewable sources. He voted to allow more mercury to be emitted.
He opposed an amendment to require higher fuel efficiency for cars, and voted to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for oil drilling. He opposed an amendment that would stop EPA from allowing pesticides to be tested on women and children.
Let's elect someone who has a conscience and a plan for the future.
