I couldn't decide where other to poste this...

I NEED COMPUTER  ASSISTANCE ! !
Until about 3 weeks ago I was able to use personal messaging  in the Care2 Groups.  Now I am unable to type text in the message box to send to friends.  The technical assistance folks at Care2 were unable to help me.  Has anyone else ever had this problem?  Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

I'll be most grateful for any tips, directions, spells to cast, etc. on my software which will enable to write messages to others.

I have an idea for a story...for here....what do you think December 28, 2005 9:34 AM

Salaam Rabia,

I wondered...I have an idea for a story....like they have in Readers Digest....but maybe with a twist.....a continuing story.   about a woman who lives in a beautiful harem....and her daily life in this harem...with the things women do.....they cook....they bathe....they laugh.....they play with children.....you know?

what do you think?  I love the way in which you describe things...so beautifully, you take one away to places and imagine all kinds of beauty and perfumed silks....and things....

it could be something that people might want to tune into to see the life of this woman.  She can be a grandmother....or younger, and we can show a wedding.....and keep it going...and then children....and daily life....and ...and someday be a grandmother....so we can keep the story going...with aunties and grandmothers and mothers and other harem women....

it just hit me....

I can see it in my mind...shopping for the food.....and maybe some interaction.....

what do you think?

thank you for reading and concidering this.    We can do alot with it!!

Salaam,

your friend

Layla

GREAT IDEA! January 03, 2006 9:29 PM

Salaam Layla and members of Caravans End,

I think it is a great idea!  We have a co-host post open would you consider filling the position?  I have been ill since November 26th, (Gregorian Calendar).  Every time I get up for a day back I go with the flu another time.  As I gain strength I have so much to add to this group as well as a new project that will be a surprise soon.
I appreciate every post here in the Casbah!  I believe it is an important group and should be here at Care2 to share a part of the life style of so many different people.  It is my prayer that in some small way there will be understanding between all the members here and we will see each other as partners in this world.
When I was speaking in grade schools I would open the discussion among first graders by asking the girls what they thought I was doing dressed in Muslim clothing.  They usually chose "a witch."  When I asked the boys they would choose
"a ninja turtle."
I would then say "I am a grandmother."
It is when we see each other and recognize that we are more similar than we are different, that we really become people.  And not just people of a particular country but of the human race.
I do not come with a petition to sign.  I do come with an open heart to share experiences.  To  answer questions openly. And hear what you are saying to me also.
"HAPPY NEW YEAR"

RAMADAN MESSAGE FROM ISTANBUL... September 24, 2006 11:26 PM

Ramadan message from Istanbul:
*******  "Hakikati Ara"  *******

Istanbul-Ramadan

....During Ramadan, the holy month of fasting, the  city changes a lot.  The traffic is  a mess before iftar,  the meal for breaking  the fast,  with everyone trying  to get home  as soon as possible, shopkeepers  hold  community  meals together  with their workers  in front of the shops  when the weather is fine, and municipalities set up special areas where the poor can eat for free.......................

The big mosques are illuminated at night and religious maxims are written on the ropes stretched between the minarets of mosques; a Ramadan art called mahya. They are mostly sayings like "The Sultan of  11 months,"   "Fast and You'll Be Healthy",  etc...... I  spotted this  one yesterday in  Uskudar.    It   says "Hakikati Ara" meaning "Search for the Truth!" Obscure in all senses of the word.
