 The Borough Anaimal shelter did murder. August 13, 2006 6:34 PM

On August 2, the FNSB animal shelter went to a NO-kill animal shelter and confiscated 22 cats and 4 dogs ( 2 dogs were the owners private animals) claiming the animals were miss treated, sick, and a bunch of other lies. The Fairbanks North Star Borough Animal Shelter ONLY took animals that they had given to this shelter and left all the other animals. If indeed their complaint was true why didn't they take all the animals. Because it was false. The Mayor called a assembly meeting and it was packed with supporters of the NO kill shelter . NO-one from the shelter showed instead they have been killing healthy dogs and cats . One of the dogs murdered was Toto the owners own dog. Toto was 11 years old. They killed the dog with out the owners knowledge, consent and didn't even till her they were going to do so or give her a change to fight the killing hold the dog to say good-by.. They took a animal out of loving arms and killed it. What would you do if your local city or county run, shelters did that to your animal? I know for a fact that Loving Companions Inc. takes good care of all animals they take in and gives them love, proper care and finds them a good home but until that time they have a safe home for life. These cats and dogs are now in cages sacred and alone. I went to the FNSBAS and found the cats in cages with out water or food all in a arco trailer . They were crying to come home. I could only find 1 of the dogs in a outside cage. I have one of Loving Companions dogs One that was rescued from the shelter it was pageant the shelter was going to kill it before it had the litter it makes me sick to think I could have missed out on the wonderful dog- I got the mother good homes were found for all the pups. All my animals are rescue ones. The Fairbanks shelter needs reform they had a very good manager but the borough won't stand with her so she left and the man in charge now thinks kill before save. I am going to keep writing emails and hope somehow/someway attention is given that will get Loving Companions animals back and force reform at the Borough shelter.  [ send green star]

The Mayor has called a closed door assembly meeting for August 17th. BUT he and Donna's so called attorney meet today and wrote up a 1 sided agreement they want her to sign. If she does the remaining animals WILL BE KILLED. Please help us. I am sorry but couldn't figure how to put Toto's picture with this. DUE PROCESS FOR TOTO Do it for the Animals ! Toto was an 11 year old girl's beloved pet, who FNSB Animal Control seized from his family on August 2nd and killed for "medical reasons" without even attempting to determine his medical history or contact his family. In fact they were only notified of this five days after his death...and by their lawyer! Is your old pet next? Whose decision should it be? The FNSB Animal Control seized another 22 cats and 4 dogs from Loving Companions Animal Rescue Inc., a local NO-Kill rescue group. One of these cats, Harley, was killed without his guardian's input.
