Ouch! I know the feeling....I was at the dentist last week getting a tooth fitted for a crown. Half my face was numb. It was a weird feeling is all I can say. Hope you all had a wonderful St. Paddy's Day!
Sorry everyone about the change I have now switched it back to the original look and feel. I hope Jim comes back and he's not to angry. I was just testing it all out to see how it looked. I hadn't had any problems except for the bullitin board photos were chopped. I did like the posting format at the bottom of the threads
Okay, now I can't post a picture. It is so sad that Jim left Care2. He will be greatly missed. Ladies, with regret, I am leaving this group. It has nothing to do with the members, but I do not like this new Beta version. It has way too many glitches and it takes editor way to long to download before I can type anything. This is the first morning I have been able to get here and post anything. I love ya'll and I will miss our morning talks. Love you, Kathryn
Jim has quit Care2 because of the new format. That is why his profile went to anonymous. I'm sorry to tell you that news, he told us that in our coffee group (well he did it in a note through the group owner). I'm waiting for Care2 to work out all the bugs before switching my groups over to the new format. Have a great day everyone!
Hi Jim,Daria,Kathryn, for same reason,I can't post picture,it is new format of groups, system, or I don't know..however I am not sure if something be posted anyway...
Have a great day.Anonymous,I mean Jim,thank you for my tea.
Jim, Kathryn, Carolyn, Florika and everyone! I'm with you Kathryn and Jim. I don't like this at all. If all the groups are going to go this way in the future, not sure what I will do. Have fun with your daughter Jim. It is so cold here but Spring is on the way. I saw a robin yesterday! One of the first signs of Spring in this area. The tree out front is getting buds also. Take care. Have a great day all!
Good Leaping Friday Morning folks. Jim, I'm in agreement. I don't like this new format either. It takes about 2 minutes sometimes for the editor to download before I can start typing. It's pretty ridiculous to me. And then even though the threads are in ascending order, you still have to go to the bottom to reply. Makes no sense to me. Anyway.. I have to take my truck in for a tune up. Gotta run. Love, Kathryn

I don't like this - Good morning friends! Aw, I'm not sure about this! Upgrade push underway; I have problems maneuvering through the current grade (LOL). Spending the day with my daughter and that's always great, been awhile since we've done that! Going to be fun. Coffee's ready! Enjoy your day, I know I'll enjoy mine!
Good morning, another raw day here in MD, not at all helping with my not being able to hear very well, my cold is wreaking havoc on me, fortunately, I'm not coughing and I can breathe, I've just been unable to hear for the last week. Oh well, I'll tough it out; many folks are much worse off than me. The bit of good news, the clock appears to be within the +/- 3 minute daily range, so I may have it tuned in. Coffee and tea are on. Please, join me for some.
Well Jim, I think it takes one warped mind to know another warped mind. LOL!!! Not much going on today either. Probably have to work today out in the field with hubby. Have a wonderful day my friends. Love, Kathryn
Jim, awesome photo of your grandparents. Thank you allowing us to meet them.
Jim, how long did it take you to type that this a.m. LOL!!! People to do and things to see. That is absolutely hilarious!!! Well, I'm off to do some housework. Oh joy!!! My least favorite thing in the world. Oh well, someone's got to do it, right?! Love ya'll and have a truly blessed Monday.
Good Morning Friends, up much earlier than I need be. It is cold but dry outside. Time check: my clock is running fine. I don't have to be to work today until noon, Evelyn is getting ready for work. I have coffee and tea ready. Would you care for some?
Happy you had a chuckle, Kathryn; Florika, you're welcome for the virtual tea. I wish I could send you a real cup! I've good news! My antique clock is back home. I picked it up after work today. Apparently, the mainspring catch was broken, it was possibly hit by the pendulum as it was being moved around. The repairman did a little fine tuning on it, making it easier to remove the pendulum weight. I started it up at 1:52 this afternoon, it chimed at 2 p.m. and is ticking away! It's good to have it back, for the second time, again!
Thank you for not getting bored with me on this clock thing, I felt that I broke it before, then put it out of sight and out of mind, then when I found it, it was the right thing to do to have it repaired. After all, my grand mother and grand father never gave up on me. Would you like to meet them?
Jim, I had a giggle went I was downstairs washing laundry. I thought about your Aunt watching the clothes. You gave me a smile and I thank you for that. I'm glad I was able to give you a good memory to think upon. The washer/dryer work great. Still doing laundry this a.m., then I'll be caught up. Glad to hear that you'll be picking up your clock this afternoon. Ya'll are in my prayers concerning that cold, yucky weather you're getting.
Have a truly blessed Saturday my dear friends. Love, Kathryn
Good Morning, survived the latest round of winter weather, more on the way tonight (?). We are blessed, not having the treacherous weather that have plagued some of our friends. Going to pick up my antique clock after work today! Getting ready for WXCY. Coffee and tea are on, care fore some?
Thank you, Kathryn. Evelyn made it to work just fine, she called upon arriving. Said the main roads were treated and just wet; secondary roads were snow covered, the roads in our neighborhood appear to be slushy now (about 12:30 p.m.).
The story of your new washer and dryer brought back memories of when my Aunt Edie got a new washer and dryer. (This was many years ago.) For about a month, she used to sit downstairs and watch it operate. Thanks for the memories!
I may pick up my clock when Evelyn gets home; that is if we don't get the second blast of ice that was earlier forecast. If not, I'll pick it up when I finish work tomorrow at noon!
Fantastic news Jim about your clock. Did Evelyn make it to work okay? I noticed on The Weather Channel, that the north and northeast states are getting pounded with sleet/ice/snow. I remember those days growing up in Virginia.
Well, I have some different news today. I'm getting my very first brand new washer & dryer delivered today. I have never owned a new appliance (large one) before. I'm so excited. Strange isn't it? The two things I detest the most is washing dishes and clothes and I'm excited about getting new washer/dryer. LOL LOL LOL!!!! I never said I was normal. Hope everyone has a truly blessed day. Love ya'll, Kathryn
Good Morning Friends, a thin layer of sleet is on the ground and covering the cars; could get a half inch of ice today, Evelyn is getting ready for work. Nasty day to say the least! Tea and Coffee is ready! Please help yourself! Have a good day!
Good evening, we got in from Atlantic City at about 3; had fun! Good news, the clock repair shop called and said my clock is ready for pick up, we're going to do that tomorrow! Will be great to have it back, again! Thanks for your words of encouragement! (We're expecting a winter storm tomorrow into Saturday morning, 2 to 3 inches of snow followed by sleet; Evelyn works tomorrow, getting up with her at 4 a.m. to help her clear the car, if necessary; will have the tea and coffee ready early tomorrow morning).
Hey friends, thanks for the support. My clock won't be repaired today, I called the shop when I got home from WXCY this morning and found out that the repairman who is helping me is off today. I guess he couldn't fix it yesterday, like he thought. I'm sure everything will turn out OK, it's just that these folks are a little odd that's all, you'd have to see them to understand what I'm talking about. But they have been cooperative, so far. I hope it continues - their warranty policy, however, is a little strange.
Getting ready to leave for Atlantic City when Evelyn gets home, will be back tomorrow afternoon. Have a good day!
Good morning, not my favorite task at WXCY. Doing Traffic Watch, this morning only. This afternoon Evelyn and I are off to Atlantic City. Still reeling from yesterday, not a good day but certainly not a crisis. My antique clock broke again yesterday and is back in the repair shop; was suppose to be fixed again last night, but that didn't happen. I'll call the shop before leaving for AC today. Oh Well, it could be worse!
Coffee (and tea) is on, have a cup or two, I'll be leaving for WXCY in an hour or so!
Stopping in before going to sleep. It was a weird day; I felt like I was on the road all day. Little disappointed, my antique clock - you remember, the one I inherited from my grandparents that I recently had fixed -is broken again. It is back in the repair shop for a sprung mainspring. The repairman said he needed to remove the face plate to fix the problem; he said it was possible that it would be ready this afternoon, but I've not heard anything yet. If I don't hear anything tonight, I will call the shop tomorrow after I finish work at WXCY to see what's going on. Stuff like that happens, I suppose!

Howdy Jim & Daria. Well, it's an absolutely gorgeous sunny day here in SE Texas. Got my windows open to a slightly chilled wind, but refreshing breeze. Hubby & I are doing so much better today. Still coughing a bit, but pretty much over the flu part. Stay warm and have a truly blessed day my friends. Love, Kathryn

Good Morning Friends. President's Day Holiday yesterday has caused a big time run around day for me! Evelyn is back to work; so I'm "ridin' the trails" solo! Got the coffee going, please join me for a cup or two.
Kathryn, I hope you and hubby are feeling better each day.
Jim, you and Evelyn so deserve to sleep in and have a relaxing day. Enjoy. Thanks for the tea.
Florika, whatever your plans, I hope you have a good day.
It's a mild day here, although very windy. It's 63o already! It was raining during the night and earlier but the sun is trying to come out now. Back to cold temps for the rest of the week. Tomorrow's high will only be 40! Crazy weather!
Hello Jim, Florika, Daria, & everyone. Today looks to be a beautiful day. It's sunny, but chilly. High of 63 degrees. Feeling a little better today. I wouldn't wish this flu bug on anyone. The doctors around here are saying this is one of the worst bugs they've seen in quite some time. So, that tells me this is a nasty little bugger. (Sorry about the pun. LOL!!! ) Anyway... I'm still here at home. Got some office work and a little housecleaning to do. Love ya'll, Kathryn

Greetings Friends: Finally, I have time to enjoy the coffee while posting. (I know you like 'em, but weekends are so rushed for me). Even got to sleep-in a little. Momma is still asleep, she's off today, we were going to do some errands but, since today is a holiday, the places we need to go to are closed so we're staying in. I've some coffee (and tea, if you wish). Relax and enjoy!
Jim, fantastic photos. Ah, to be a DJ and to meet all these neat country music stars. LOL!!! You have been truly blessed my friend. And to have a wife that shares it with you. Well, it's Sunday and hubby & I are still getting over this flu bug. I'm up and about, but not for long. You can only lay down for so long. Anyway... I pray everyone has a blessed day. Love, Kathryn

Good Day Friends. Working today at WXCY, there at noon. Wanted to share a few photos from Keith Urban/Carrie Underwood concert on Valentines Day.
We were in the middle concourse to the right of the stage. Good seats; no one blocked our view.
Carrie Underwood: Carnival Ride Tour
I posted our meeting again because she's on stage wearing the same outfit as when we met her, she did four costume changes. I didn't show them all.
Keith Urban takes the stage.
Hard to see, but Keith Urban went into the crowd; he gave the guitar he's playing to a lucky fan. He took out a pen and signed it. This was a really cool show! We had a wonderful evening; a great way to spend Valentine's Day.
Hello Friends, I am extremely late, we didn't get home until 2 this morning. Well, Valentine's Day is a just a memory, but one that will last a long time for Evelyn and me. Here's what happened. Although we spent the evening in Hershey, PA, it was not for chocolate. We were at the Giant Center Arena for the Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood 2008 Tour. WXCY sent us to escort Loyal Listener Club contest winners backstage for the Carrie Underwood "Meet and Greet" and to see the show. You probably know by now that Carrie Underwood is Evelyn's favorite singer (and I like her too), so we were blessed to be able to meet her, again (we met her last year in Delaware).
Although we didn't meet Keith Urban, his concert was absolutely fantastic. I will post some photos soon so you can see some of the concert. It was a fabulous "chocolate-free" evening in the Chocolate Town, USA. Here's the Meet and Greet shot!
(L) Jim, Carrie Underwood, and Evelyn
I hope your Valentine's Day celebration was memorable!
Good Morning and Happy Valentine's Day! I hope your day is filled with love. Evelyn is off today! We don't do a lot of chocolate as we are both really trying to drop a few pounds, but it's Valentine's Day so Evelyn and I are going to Chocolate Town, USA; Hershey, PA, tonight to celebrate! We've a very special evening planned, one which will make Evelyn and me and some WXCY listeners very happy. For the moment, I'm going to let you guess what's up, but I will tell you this, "I wish I could take you all with us!" Wishing you a very:
Peace and Love (and coffee and tea in some cases), Jim and Evelyn
Good Morning Dear Friends. I posted the little animated weather guy because that's our forecast. Rain, rain and more rain. Freezing rain changing to rain overnight has caused the roads to be hazardous. Evelyn left for work about an hour ago, she has a 15 minute ride to the bakery; she did OK, I think, because she has the SUV (which is easier to handle than the big van).
I saw my friend eliminated from American Idol last night. Although she was never featured on the show (you did not once hear her sing, nor was her name ever mentioned) she appeared in a group shot and in a close up, with her head in hands, she could be heard saying, "I gave it my best." And you know what, she did! Her name is Mishavonna and she is a very talented 17-year old from California. She has a very promising musical career ahead of her!
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, I have a huge surprise for Evelyn (although she knows what it is). I fill you in with the details on Friday! Coffee is on, would you care for a cup or two?
tea Daria and Florika> <coffee on this side - help yourself and have a good day!
Jim,Daria,Kathryn,have a great day everyone. February 12, 2008 8:07 AM
I have a trouble with submit, reply in groups, and I am not sure if that I posting now comes up several times,or not at all,or double...since yesterday evening,I posted 8 tags in my group over 2 hours.Thank you for my tea Jim.Just wanted to wish everyone Blessed Tuesday!
Hi Kathryn, glad you are feeling better. Another day of rest is a good idea. Take care.
Jim, yes it must be Care2 and it's happening again today. I post but it doesn't show, but then when I go out of the group and check again it's there. Who knows. Computers!! I've got my tea..thank you, Jim.
Beautiful clock there Jim. Looks like it is definitely an antique. I'm glad it's up & running for you once again. Well, we're feeling a little better today. Hubby went on to work and I opted to stay home. We have to go to Houston tomorrow and I'll need all my energy just to go. Anyway... have a blessed day everyone. Love, Kathryn
Good Morning Dear Friends. Crazy forecast, snow to ice today, Winter Weather Advisory: Noon till 10 p.m. - 1/4" ice accumulation possible. I don't mind snow, but have difficulty with ice. Momma is at work, will be home around 2:30 so (depending on when icing starts) she should be home before real any real problems, keeping my fingers crossed. I have some errands this morning, should be home by 10:30. Coffee is on, Caribou Coffee today! Help yourself, please!
tea Daria and Florika> <coffee here. Enjoy!
BTW: my mantle clock is still running smoothly and chiming on the hour and half hour.
WOW! Jim, that is wonderful! What a beautiful clock and what special memories it holds for you.

Good Afternoon Dear Friends . . .
I have some wonderful news. I don't want to take up your time, so I will be brief. I have an old friend back in my house. The clock that sat on the fireplace mantle at my grandparents house. It was promised to me when they passed on. When they both died years ago I received the clock. It is an Ingraham Palace Mantle Clock, manufactured in the late 1920s or early 30s. It ran for several years when, to my fault, I over wound and broke the mainspring. I was devastated and put the clock in the closet, vowing to someday have it repaired. There it sat collecting dust. This Christmas I bought Evelyn a very lovely Zodiac clock at a clock store and repair shop. I asked the store owner if they could fix my mantle clock and he said yes. So I took it in. Two months later, I received a call from the shop. They said I the clock was fixed. Evelyn and I picked up the clock today and it is back home. I started it at 4:10, the time that was on the clock, and it is running again. It just struck the half hour chime. WOW.
With it comes some very lovely memories of my grandparents and my childhood. On such a cold winter day, there is a warmth and peaceful feeling in my heart. May you find peace in your journey through life.
Sorry for the double post...please delete the second one. Care2 is acting weird. What else is new. After I posted the first one I didn't show that it was there. Nothing..nada. I tried again and still nothing so I rebooted my computer and now both show.

Good Morning friends. Just like Garfield here, hubby & I are sick. There's a nasty flu bug going around and we caught it. Hey Jim, hubby & I do the same thing about scheduling. If we don't write it down, it won't get done. LOL!! I won't be on much today. Have a blessed day ya'll. Love, Kathryn
Good Morning Friends. It was very cold and windy overnight, coldest night of the year. Monday is here, Evelyn is off today, she reminded me that we have a dental appointment this morning at 9 (we're like school kids and schedule these things together); I absolutely forgot all about it. Coffee is on, please help yourself to some! HAGD!
Good Morning Friends, it's windy and I'm lazy; slept in till 7 this morning; felt bad for momma because I heard her leave for work at 4:30 a.m. (Sunday is her usual day off, but because she is dependable they brought her in today; great huh?) She has off tomorrow. I've a treat for her later this week, on Valentine's Day; I'll tell you all about it on Friday (because I don't know how it will turn out)! I can let you know this, it is COOL!
I have to prep for the radio station, but I am really dragging, it's OK, I have another three hours to get ready, with the internet, it only takes about 30 minutes to do! Caribou Coffee is being served, please join me and have a great Sunday!
Good Morning Dear Friends. Ever closer to the weekend and WXCY! I'll enjoy today 'round the house, have some dishes to do, get some exercising in, and play my fiddle (which I really need help with, but for not taking lessons it's getting better). Evelyn is working, will be home at 2:30. Coffee and tea is on, enjoy and have a great day!
Good Morning Dear Friends, All is well here, Evelyn is at work (today is usually her day off). Her regional manager actually asked Evelyn to work today to help catch things up and prepare for Valentine's Day. She will also have to work on Sunday, which is typically her day off, too. You may recall, I used to work with Evelyn in a supermarket bakery a while back, there are no holidays for a bakery worker. They will eventually give her comp time. Coffee is on, please join me for some! HAGD
Good Day Dear Friends, almost a summer-like forecast for today, Ash Wednesday: the First Day of Lent. (You don't really know me like Evelyn does, so today, "I am relinquishing my anger toward myself!" I've been trying to do it for a long time, I thought the Lenten season would be a great time to give it up). So it is gone (please help me to keep it away) Now you know the real me! Have a great day and a rewarding Lenten season! Peace, my friends!
Gail, cloudy day here. It rained this morning..then the sun tried to come out and now it looks like rain again. But it's fairly mild for this time of year and tomorrow it going to be around 60! Woohooo! I'm all for that. I want Spring!
Jim, great photos! What a fun time you all had! I guess you will think twice before having another cigar! More coffee?
Hut, one; Hut two; Hike; Yo Sports Fans: WOW, we Superbowl partied at my son's house and what a time we had. The game wasn't all that much until the last minute; we're happy with the outcome, but even more happy that we had fun. I have only a few regrets, first: I wish I hadn't let my son talk me into smoking a cigar at halftime, and two: I'm sorry I ate so much food. So it's back to square one for my diet! The other sad thing is that my daughter wasn't able to come to the party. Oh well! Everyone had a great time, now if I can only get rid of this cigar taste in my mouth! Check out some photos from last night!
Me in the upper middle with Cory's friends.
(L) Lar, Lisa and momma.
Cheering for a NY Giants victory.
Cory in the middle tending bar!
A Great Party, we've already made our reservation for next year!
Good Morning, big day ahead. WXCY noon till 6 then to my son's to meet the family and friends for the Super Bowl. Ya know what, it's really not for the game; it's for the gathering! I very much love when the momma, the kids and I are together again. May you're day be pleasant!
Hello Jim,Daria, welcome new faces Gail,Beverly,it is always nice with new people. Here windy again, storm was yesterday, rainy, very bad winter. We love really winter with snow and coldness.Thank you for my tea.I was very busy this week.Take care.
SO MUCH FOR AN EARLY SPRING.GOOD OLD PHIL SAW HIS SHADOW.I WAS HOPING FOR AN EARLY SPRING.OH WELL,MY HUBBY GETS CABIN FEVER ,I THOUGHT I WOULDNT HAVE TO BAKE SO MUCH MUCH.THE LONGER HE IS IN THE HOUSE ,THE LONGER HELL WANT ME TO BAKE LOL.HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A WARM WEEKEND HUGS
No snow here...just lots of rain yesterday. It's sunny and not so cold today, although a bit windy. Cleaning day for me as I've been out and about every day this week and the apartment got neglected. Taking a short break to post greetings to my groups and then I'll get back to it. Enjoy your day everyone!
What a week this is for me! Hubby and I have somewhere to go each day. This evening is a banquet for the 50th anniversary of the FAA. Harry is a retired computer systems analyst for the FAA. It should be nice.
Jim, almost through your busy days. When is the next mini vacation to AC? Thanks for always having tea here for me.
Good Morning, it's the middle day of three at WXCY. I've worked the 2 till 7 shift before but yesterday seemed so busy, there was a early problem with the computer that was quickly remedied, but it would have been real trouble if it hadn't. Weekends are so much different, they are very much slower. I have coffee and I wish you could really taste it; it turned out very good today. It is called Sumatra and it is from Caribou Coffee, my daughter's Christmas present to me. Very mellow, not at all bitter. Off to the radio station at 2, enjoy a cup of coffee with me now, please!
Good Day Friends. Busy over the next three days, working 2 till 7 at WXCY. With news and traffic, it's a little busier shift than I'm used, but it'll be fun. Coffee's on, care for some, Gail what's your pleasure?
Good Morning! Had a wonderful time last night with the family celebrating my wife and son's birthdays. We ate at a very nice Italian restaurant in Aberdeen, MD. I so much love it when my son and daughter are with us again. I really wanted to move to Colorado after I retired, that's Evelyn's home; she was all set to move, too. But when I retired Evelyn had a change of heart and wanted to stay. We argued and quarreled and I finally gave in. I asked Evelyn what changed her mind about moving. She said, "I don't want to move away from the kids." I'm glad she won; because I was a winner, too; and it isn't often in life when you experience a win-win situation. May your concerns be little ones. Peace friends!
Hi Friends, WXCY today then we're having the family birthday celebration gathering tonight, got changed around but works out even better! Because Florika and Daria have tea, I had a cup of tea yesterday, too. I like it just as well as coffee (but not always)! Good Day
Good Morning Friends, back from AC, had a great time; today is my son Cory's birthday; tomorrow we'll celebrate his and momma's birthdays with the family. Getting ready for another goofy weekend, but today - I'm kickin' back! Coffee's on, please help yourself.
Hello everybody. I sure have missed ya'll. My computer is fixed, yet I still don't have internet service yet. It's in the making though. How is everyone? Hopefully will be back online soon. That's what I'm praying for at least. Have a blessed day my friends. Love, Kathryn

Got a quick glimpse of my friend Mishavonna as she came out the door with a "Golden Ticket To Hollywood" on American Idol last night. Momma and I going to Atlantic City tonight, all is well in our neck of the woods! Coffee (or tea) ?????
Good Morning Friends! Looks like a mixed bag of weather today, we'll see what happens. American Idol is the plan for this evening. There's a very good chance you will see a friend from my myspace page auditioning tonight!
Her name is Mishavonna and be on the look out for her!
Now you know why I don't bet on the NFL. Cold couple days in Maryland, both momma and I are home today! I think we're going nowhere (but I shouldn't bet on that either, momma wants to do some grocery shopping). Coffee is hot, please help your self to a cup or two!
Daria (Evelyn is no dummy, she was partying with ancient women which made her the youngest there); believe me you don't want to see the photos, they reminded me of "Driving Miss Daisy" only a hundred years later!
Hi Friends, I didn't realize how busy the weekends are for me until I noticed the disarray in this house this morning. In plain words, "It's A Mess Here!" Momma is at work already and I go in at noon. I'll be using the dishwasher this morning just to knock out some of the mess.
Momma did have a good birthday, despite having to work. I forgot to tell you that country star Keith Anderson visited the radio station on Evelyn's birthday. He was there to pitch his new album coming out in May. The whole gang at WXCY treated it as a birthday party for Evelyn. It was really nice!
Momma, Keith Anderson, and me!
You may have heard Keith Anderson's songs on the radio. He sings: Pickin' Wildflowers and Double XL. His new song is called: I Still Remember You. Evelyn was treated as the Guest of Honor and it was really nice!
I have coffee ready, then it's off to work at noon for me! Back to somewhat normalcy tomorrow! Good Day Friends!
Good Morning Friends! Have already been on the road, dropped mom off at work; we are going to WXCY later today so I will pick up Evelyn on the way! Today is her birthday. She is having a "Girls Only" dinner at her friend's house (and that's OK by me)! Will pass along your birthday greetings to Evelyn, thanks!
Snow caused road problems yesterday, but there are no issues this morning, rain overnight and temps above freezing has roadways wet, could be slick on bridges and overpasses; no problems to and from Aberdeen this morning. Coffee is on, would you care for some?
Good Morning Friends. Winter Weather Advisory in affect. Expecting 2 to 4 inches of snow today, changing to rain tonight. Slippery conditions expected on the roads. Evelyn is home today, we need to run some errands and will have lunch out today, should be home before the roads get too bad (if it actually happens, but I've been outside and it really does feel like snow this time). Coffee is on, Caribou's: Mahogany, please join me for some! Have a good day!
Good Morning Friends! WOW, I slept in. American Idol: Season 7 in action. Momma and I watched it yesterday and it's on again tonight. So now you know our plans. Momma's at work; she has off tomorrow so she can enjoy the show and then sleep in.
I also forgot to mention that Friday is Evelyn's birthday. The family will celebrate on Saturday, Jan 26, by going out to dinner. The reason we're waiting so long to gather is because our son's birthday is next Friday, Jan 25. We'll honor both birthdays together.
I have brewed Caribou Coffee: Mahogany and am sipping on it! It is darker and has a very rich taste. I actually like it better than Caribou Blend. Would you care for some!
Good Morning, guess what, no WXCY today (at all); just a few Tuesday routine things to do, visit a homebound parishioner, some dishes. Momma is leaving for work so I am alone -- all alone (and that's nice from time-to-time)! I have my coffee and am brewing some tea for you! Have a great day, I know I will!!!
Tea Florika and Daria ->
Coffee (no special blend, just regular whole bean coffee that I ground up) for me (and whomever wishes some; there has to be peepers in this group)
Good Morning Friends. At WXCY today doing traffic reports (not my favorite radio thing to do); have to go in at 5:30 till 9 then again from 3:00 till 6:30, this was thrown in at the last minute. I've the coffee on, will have tea for my friends who'd rather have that beverage! Have a good day!
Good Morning, momma and I went to a small-venue concert at our church last night. We met a very lovely and talented Blues/Folk Singer named Les Sampou. She is from Massachusetts. I was absolutely blown away with her talent as a singer/songwriter. She did a two hour show and it was very good. The really strange part is that there were only 15 people (including the workers) at the concert. I felt she was singing to just Evelyn and me.
New Folk Artist Award Winner Les Sampou. She won the award recently at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Kerrville, TX.
Me, Les Sampou, and momma
It was an amazing performance! We had a great time. Radio today at noon; Coffee is on, would you care to join me?
Good evening Jim,so kind of you put me on your tea list,I drink coffee only in the morning with a lot of milk,Daria nice to see you,I have been so busy and my com.is the same,I mean slowly,RAM memory is low, that I have now is pretty new one, three years old,Packard Bell, laptop, but it doesn't help...we have here too many pictures,graphics...well my friends wishing you good time and great weekend.
Weather,a lot of rain, maybe istead of snow,I wonder if I am living in Scandinavia longer...Global warming...
Hey, we're back! Got home yesterday afternoon but I had a meeting so I didn't get online! Had a great time in Atlantic City, didn't win but had a lot of fun! Now I have to work - WXCY from 9 a.m. till 2 p.m. (oh well, it's more money the next AC trip!) The coffee is on, please join me for some! Good Day Friends!
Good Morning Dear Friends. Still mild weather, breezy, actually it's pretty outside (I love this time of morning).
Up this morning at 3. The radio station called me yesterday and asked me to work Friday from 9 till 2 on Friday. They actually wanted me to work today through Friday, but we are going to be out of town tonight and tomorrow. Oh Well! So as it goes, I am working Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and Monday. But, I'll worry about that when it gets here, Evelyn and I are off Atlantic City when she finishes work this afternoon. She is on her way to work now, I hear her upstairs getting ready. Coffee is on, Caribou "Breakfast Blend." Enjoy a cup or two with me! Good Day!
Good Morning Friends. I have a record going, two days in-a-row of good night's sleep. Stayed in bed even a little longer today, till 6 a.m. Evelyn left for work and I didn't even hear her stirring around! I guess I didn't realize how stressed I must have been during the long holiday season at work.
Time to get back into the Tuesday routine, I'll make my visit to a homebound parishioner; I'm lookin' at a sink of dishes to wash. But, one can handle it with the weather we're having - in the 70s today; not bad for a winter day! But rain and colder moving in beginning tomorrow, so I'll enjoy it while I can! Got a different Caribou coffee going, it's called "Breakfast Blend" and it is good. Would you care to join me for a cup or two???
tea Daria -> <-tea Florika and <- coffee -> for those who wish and me
Jim, Florika and everyone! Care 2 was very sick yesterday. lol Glad it's better today. Computer problems are frustrating. Florika, I hope your computer problems are resolved. Thank you for my tea, Jim. Enjoy your day with Evelyn.
WOW, I actually slept in till 5:30 this morning and believe me for an early-riser that is great! Wild weekend at the radio station, Monday is here and the coffee is on and hot! Momma is home today, too! Join us for coffee please!
Good Morning, been up awhile; Care2 was slow in loading earlier so I decided to come back. Not a lot to do today, going into radio station at noon; momma is off today, tomorrow and Thursday. We are going to Atlantic City on Wednesday for an overnight. Coffee is on, please have a cup or two!
Jim, You were quite the early bird. My mind races like that when I have a lot going on, or know that there is lots to do and I shouldn't be lying there in bed. Glad you had some relaxing time before work. Thanks for my tea.
Bright and early, coffee is perked and I'll be getting ready for work soon; still there's enough time to rest before leaving, just couldn't stay in bed, the mind kept racing (don't know what that means)! Momma's moving around too but it's still too early! Help yourself to a cup of java!
Hello Florika; Hi Daria: my son gave me a beer home brewing kit a long time ago and every now and then when I get to feeling like it I brew a batch. It's easy, like baking a box cake. But it is time consuming and you must sanitize properly or the beer will taste bad. It's therapeutic for me and it's fun. I timed this batch so I could bottle it after I was finished with working during the holidays.
Good morning. Momma just got up for work; she is scheduled for three days off next week and that is what she wants. I have some dirty dishes in the sink from last night. We watched the Beatles: A Hard Day's Night and Help - was fun and brought back some memories of my youth. Will play around the house today, momma will be home about 2 p.m. Oh no, the weekend is upon us, that means WXCY again! It's OK; that's my normal schedule! Coffee is on! Care for a cup or two?
A long and busy day yesterday and I'll be out again this afternoon. Thanks for my tea Jim. Here is coffee for you. You're making your own beer? I don't drink that either. I bet my son would like to try that though.
Daria: Caribou is a brand name, like Folger's or Maxwell House. It was served aboard the Frontier Airlines flight into Las Vegas last year. It has a very nutty-fruity kind of taste that I liked; my daughter gave me a Caribou Coffee gift card for Christmas. So I bought some online at www.cariboucoffee.com
Good Morning Friends! Well, I've had a day to recoup, it was cool fun, too. I played around on the fiddle yesterday and bottled the latest batch of beer. I actually brewed it before starting the overtime at WXCY. I tasted the wort (it's kinda like flat beer but it looks like apple cider); it seemed OK; it will carbonate in a week, then I'll put it in the refrigerator for two weeks to mature a little. Then I'll taste it. I'm hoping it's good because I'll take it to my son's house for the Superbowl party (he throws a good one every year)!
Momma's home today, it looks like she'll get her wish of a four-day a week work schedule. Next week she has Sunday, Monday and Thursday off; guess where we are going on Wednesday? Yep, it's the first Atlantic City trip of the New Year! Things are looking up! I hope you're time is pleasant! Have some coffee, I brewed up another pot of Caribou Blend!
Jim, enjoy your holiday season. I still have my decorations up. I'm not ready to take them down yet. Thanks but I'll stick with tea. I never got the taste for coffee ..don't even like the smell of it. Sorry!
Good Morning and Happy New Year. What a difference a year makes (actually one day). The long days at the radio station are over, it's back to just the weekends (until the next time someone needs off but I'll worry about that when it happens)! Early to bed, early to rise (but forget that other stuff about health and wealth). My holiday season starts now. I am sipping some of the Caribou Coffee that my daughter gave me for Christmas and it reminds me of the Frontier flight to Las Vegas, last year! I invite you to share a cup or two and relax a bit - I have plenty time, and I'd enjoy your company!
Keep you seatbelt snuggly fastened, enjoy the flight, we are serving Caribou Coffee, may I entice you into having a cup or two?
Tea Daria (but you don't know what you're missing by not having the Caribou) ->
Tuesday, January 1, 2008, 2:00 p.m. - Just finished with 11 of 12 days at WXCY. Time for me to wind down! I'm only sorry that I missed most of the Holiday Season, but that's the way it is when your passion is radio broadcasting. I hope your holidays were super! Peace always, Jim
Good Morning Friends, my "Topsy-turvy" schedule today has allowed me to not have to get up so very early (like 3:30 as in the recent past), but instead I got out of bed around 6. There is definitely light at the end of the tunnel. Working today noon till 6; tomorrow 5:30 a till 9 a; and Tuesday 5 a till noon. After that it's a new year (so it all starts over again). Evelyn stands a good chance of getting three days off a week beginning next year, too. That's what happens when the holidays are over.
Relaxing now with coffee and you (if you care to join me)! Good Day All!
Daria, thank you for the coffee. It feels like I haven't been to bed yet either. Worked until 7:00 last night, came home and couldn't get to sleep; finally got in bed at 10 and tossed and turned. I think I got about 4 hours of sleep (maybe). Work has me all wound up, I still have the weekend and Monday and Tuesday. I am so on edge. Have a great weekend and a wonderful New Year!
Good Day Friends. One day down, six to go! Back at WXCY 9 a.m. till 6:30 p.m. (tomorrow too), Evelyn is off (good for her)! I've made coffee and invite you to join me for a cup or two. Hope your day is a good one!
Happy Boxing Day: I hope your Christmas was well, ours was great; the family gathered at my daughter's house to have dinner and exchange gifts. Really pleasant! But, it went too fast, we're back to work today! Coffee is on, would you care for some?
Happy Holidays Dear Friends. Never before has it been so stressful here, it's 3 in the morning and momma has been at work for a hour and I am going to work now; we have been able to do nothing to prepare for Christmas. We are both off Christmas Day. Evelyn's work schedule should get lighter after the holidays; after tomorrow, I am working straight through New Year's Day. I can actually say, "we're tired." Sorry, I don't have time to read everyone's posts, will come back later! Coffee is on then I'm off to work. Peace friends!
