Sleep September 11, 2005 9:00 PM

Dreams
Floating gently
Through misty clouds
Visions
Flying free
Through time and space
Nightmares
Writhing wildly
Through a twisted cage
Sleeping
Beside you
Wrapped in your arms
Secure in your love
Welcoming sleep
Regardless

The Beautiful Dark September 11, 2005 8:53 PM

This was an entry to a peotry comp. on a picture of someone standing outside a building at dusk with headlughts in distance.

  The Beautiful Dark.

  Library closed, I patiently wait
  In the beautiful dark
  For you to come
  Books closed, mind active
  The quiet dark allowing
Thoughts and ideas to ripen and mature.

  Slowly the beauty of dusk
  Creeps into my thoughts
  Calling up dreams of you
  Smiling wistfully, I patiently wait
  In the beautiful dark
  For you to come.

A golden glow appears on my right
Like molten gold brightening the sky
  Signaling your arrival
  Gathering books and thoughts
  I realise I’d wait forever
  In the beautiful dark
  For you to come.

Sun's Cycle September 11, 2005 8:48 PM

Cocooned in isolation
watching the rising sun
the day’s map

Lies before me

Waiting new tracks
to replace yesterday’s
tests and trials

Like a farmer
seeding the land
creating verdant fields

The tears and joys
of life’s creation
found fertile fodder

Lying within me

The field’s cycle
like the suns
is a metaphor

For my life

First lying fallow
seeds are planted
forming lush greenery

A life’s harvest

Dawn to dust
day after day
the sun’s rays

Bring forth life.

The Wonder of Water August 15, 2005 11:32 PM

The Wonder of Water.

As you lay there

Sleeping

Tousled head

Upon your pillow

I leave our bed

Reluctantly

Almost changing direction

Staying instead of going

Yet the cool crisp air

Breathed in

Welcomes me

The silence surrounds me

Like your arms do

In the dark of night

Gliding towards

The middle of the lake

Peace creeps in

Solitude allowing

Contemplation

Of you

Always you

Here in the center

Of this part of the universe

Water gently lapping

Against the boat

Reminiscent of you

Who is all water

All emotion

Sometimes still

Sometimes wild

All for me

Here in this

Silence

I give thanks

For the wonder

Of you and

The wonder of

Our love

LOSING SELF June 17, 2005 12:16 AM

Mesmerised by your charms

Your silver tongue

Sends shivers down my spine

Your eyes entrance

Holding me captive

Within a circle of love

Your lips promise

To play music

For passion’s magical dance

Losing myself in you

Your caressing arms

Slide gently over my skin

Lost within you

Sharing your soul

Snared in your silken web

Losing self

Finding you

Self well lost for love.

Crows June 17, 2005 12:12 AM

Cawing crows

Speaking loudly

Their words resounding

Echoing eerily

Within the listener’s heart

Cawing crows

Mocking laughter

That crashing sound

Creating melancholy

Within the listener’s heart

Cawing crows

Lilting cadences

Floating through air

Resonating sadness

Within the listener’s heart

Linda B's Poetry June 17, 2005 12:11 AM

A heart’s desire

is to be

loved from the cradle to the grave

children born in love

who grow within love’s protective arms

learn to give and receive love

they learn to nurture and protect

the one’s they love

to do this truly they have learned to love themselves.

How can we aspire to love if we cannot love ourselves?

My heart’s desire

Is for all

Children to learn to love themselves

Adults to grow in their own love of self

Not in a selfish way to exclude others from their life

But in a healthy nourishing way for to love is to be

Living in a joyous moment

It is a gift to ourselves

A gift to the soul

In love can we harm ourselves

In love can we harm others

My heart’s desire

Is to see love surround the world

From the cradle to the grave

a selfless love that nurtures and protects

The children of the world

They are the future of the planet
