Hi Everyone, I am new here and would just like to say a big hello to everyone. I am a cat lover, have two little blackies that I got from rescues and what a difference they have made to my life. I'd had a cat, Speedy, prior to these two but sadly at 16 she got diabetes and I had to have her put to sleep. It broke my heart and for a time I couldn't even consider getting more cats. But hey ho, the sun shines again, and I am now the proud owner of Tilly and Jessie. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone here. Kindest regards, Anne D.
Hi Anne! Welcome to Cat Lovers! We're looking forward to getting acquainted with you and hearing all about Tilly and Jessie.

Greetings from Ukraine to Anne and Patricia!
Hi, Pat. Welcome to the group.
Welcome to our Cat Lovers group Pat Thank you for rescuing Shadow we would love to see a picture of her.
Hello all, not sure if I'm a member or not, but feel like talking.
She was small, black, abandoned, terrified and pregnant, but I took her home anyway. She had six kittens, one was stillborn, one was run over by someone driving up my driveway without looking.....one picked up a bait. So it was "Mum" Annie, Angel, Gypsy and me.
Sadly, after 20 years of treasured companionship, Mum left three weeks ago;a week later Annie decided to join her. I know we're supposed to be 'mature' about these things, but there's been nothing mature about my reactions.
I'm elderly, live alone, and they were my family. It's hard to explain to people, and anyway, if you HAVE to explain, there's already no point..........
Thanks for lending an ear. Morain taing (many thanks) Connie
You are a member here. That is what you have to be to post. A lot of us are also elderly, and we understand fully what you are going through. We have lost many of our cats here, and they were family as was yours. 20 years is a long time to have a kitty. I do have a couple at that age now, and have lost a few at that age. It is a good old age for a cat to pass. Anything past that they seem to go blind or some other tragic disease.
I do believe that cats can die of a broken heart too. My cat Willy passed at a fairly young age , and his brother still looks for him. The 2 roosters get killed by something, and there is now one lonely rooster. he hangs out with my cat that looks for his brother.
I am so sorry about your loss. It is so hard.
Yes, you're a member here. And, you're among understanding, cat-loving friends. I hope you'll feel free to talk to us anytime. We understand the heartbreaking pain of losing our feline companions. I'm 72 years old, Connie, and I've lost many over the years. I treasure the wonderful memories I have of each and every one of them. You are welcome to share your feelings, your tears, your memories with us. We're here to listen anytime you need to talk.
Welcome to the group Patricia~ Glad you were able to rescue that kitten that now has a loving home with you.
Welcome to the group Connie. ~ I'm sorry to hear of your loss of your loving fur-babies. It is hard when we lose them and I know there will be those that don't understand your loss. But for us who have cats and other pets, we consider them part of the family. So you came to the right group. I hope in time that maybe you'll open up your heart to another kitty to adopt.
Hey Donna~ So true about cats dying of being heart broken. I had a Siamese and a little black kitty. They were inseparable, always hung out together. One night Muffette the black cat got badly hurt in a cat fight. There was nothing much to be done and he soon passed away. A couple days after, my Siamese passed on as well. I truly believe he died of being heart broken. So sad but it happens.
Oh Connie .... I am so sorry about your loss. So many here have lost their furkids over the years. It never gets any easier and we certainly wouldn't expect anyone to act "mature" over losing a loved one. My heart goes out to you. I know how lost and alone it feels. Please don't feel as if you have to go through this alone. There are some very wonderful people at this group who know exactly how you feel. Gentle hug to you. Please take care.
Ms Connine,.. Thank you for having the courage to come forward in sharing the love that lived within your heart, reflecting upon your dearly beloved fussy family that you shared your life with.
Although your grief is yours, know that you are in the company of those who know your love and compassion, as we are here to share your loss, while providing comfort and compassion right along with you.
Most of all, we are here to celebrate the love that you shared with your beloved kitties, as we too share our combined love for our kitties together. Cat love is as unique as its owner is unique. They share a special bond.
Know that you have come to a special place to be embraced, where you can continue to share your love for cats and still be in the presence of the memories of your beloved fuzzy family, as they will always be with you. They will be with you while you're here.
With each breath, feel their love, and allow yourself to smile gently, as you take one day at a time to recover and discover what's next for you, in the space of solice, peace and love.

Welcome Pat. How great of you to rescue that kitten.
Connie, I'm so sorry for your loss. It's hard but know that they wait for you at the Rainbow Bridge. You'll have your memories of 20 long years. You don't have to explain your feelings here, we understand. Know that you're among friends.
welcome to everyone. Connie sorry for your loss like Darla said they be at the rainbow bridge.
Connie, welcome to the group and I am sorry about the passing of your dear Mum and Annie. I am sure that after having her for 20 years you have beautiful memories to keep her alive in your heart. Do you still have Angel and Gypsy? If you do then you will never be alone if you have kitties. We are always hear to listen. God bless you for rescuing Mum when you did.
Sorry to hear about your recent losses, Connie.
Oh my! how kind of you all. Thank you. Yes, Michela, still have Wee Angel and Gypsy. No chance of any kits though, as they are both very old. Angel has CRF and Gypsy has been missing Annie and is off her food, most unusual for her. They were besties.
Jenevieve, it was not courage that made me write, it was loneliness. As I said, I live alone and was feeling quite miserable, but thank you.
How many times have I said "Never Again" - but I know there will be! Having no human family, there have been many animals in my life and their loss always left a big space in my heart that needed filling. All the usual farm/domestic variety - but one day I must tell you about Lucy, my pet frigate bird!
and finally, Donna, there are currently several roosters wandering around my garden you are welcome to have!
Beannachd dhuit. (Blessings) sincerely, Connie
CONNIE, don't leave it till your sad to join in, come chat with us, we chat about anything, aches , pains, >catarac removals, er thats me , come join in the word games, chat about the books you may read, enjoy the photos we put up, we will keep you busy, as for your loss, we all do know how you feel, and dont be mature, thats bad for you, but remember for every tear, there is a smile, and soon the smiles will over take the tears, we are the lucky ones, we love cats, and whats more they love us, to lose them is so painful, but to have had them in our lives is a privilidge, they never leave us, as Darla said they wait for us contentedly over the rainbow bridge, xxxxx
>>Girls Jenevieve <<<<is having a bad time<<, I am not breaking any promises or not, not keeping a secret, short story, someone went into her house and attacked her cat, while Jen was talking out the front to her neighbour, it was touch and go for her cat Elsie, (a boy), he seemed to improve but today has a swelling on his chest, please send her a message, you know what ti's like, sometimes it is too overwhelming to talk.......xxxxxx
Donna so sad for your cat and rooster, strange companions, just shows, understandings of feelings, is universal, even between cat and rooster, mind, I only believe it cause it's you he he he, %#&!*%
Hi, Anne. Welcome to the group. I have two rescue cats that we adopted as kittens. I named my guy Robb, from Robb Star from The Game Of Thrones book series, and my Dad named his Kip. I'm not sure how he came up with that one.
Welcome to our cat lovers group, and what is Beannachd dhuit.???? I was offered some roosters from my neighbor, but I really do not want anymore. Maybe if one was to fly into the yard it would possibly be nice for company, but the relationship this rooster had with the other one was so odd to me. They just stared at each other sometimes. I really would be upset if more hens came into the yard, as something killed the others.
Out back in the yard are 7 cats with one rooster and now 30 black vultures. I call one and everybody comes. The vultures are playful but they will steal the cats food if I put something by the door. I usually feed them in the barn shed, and close the door. The vultures wreck the yard, and they pulled 5 blankets out of the tarp bldg, and out of some of the big dog houses. I keep having to pick them up. No sense putting them back , so I just pile them up behind the bldg. They actually pull them out and lay on them.
If no food is out in time, they take the carpet off the step and drag it to the road, and, they took my mop to the road too. My next door neighbor came over to mow the lawn, and she was cracking up. She said she figured the vultures too my mop. I had it standing up in a table that had holes in it. It is wrought iron, and they picked it out.
YOU CRACKED ME UP DONNA, ONLY YOU COULD HAVE WISE CRACKING VULTURES X WENDY K X
If I open a can of cat food, we can hear the vultures racing on top of the roof to the front yard. I am opening them in here. They peek in the widow too. When I pull into the driveway, they hear me and all fly toward my car. It wasn't bad all summer, but I think they fly here from the south or something, as I am getting more each day..... I will have to start making spaghetties again when it is cold. They eat all the peanut butter I put on the tree limbs.
Donna~ Oh my, I'm with Wendy laughing here about your vultures. That is too much with them making mischief to you. You'll have to post up a pic of them vultures in your yard. LOL
Welcome to Cat Lovers Pat and Connie
ROFL....I am totally falling off my chair thinking about them on your roof, wrestling with each other to get to the yard first when they hear your can opener. hahahahahaha I have a bad enough time with my inside pets and my electric can opener. You have the best stories Donna!!!
Connie, if you are meant to have more kitties you will feel drawn to the shelter or a needy kitty will find his/her way to you. We currently have 5 and all were rescues. All coming to me in a time when a kitty really brightened up my life. I'm so sorry that Gypsy is off her food. She's grieving. Give her a little bit and she'll eat again. You should post here more often, join in with us and ease your loneliness. You'll make some great friends here. Do tell us more about Angel and Gypsy as well as Lucy your bird. In addition to my 5 cats I have BabyFace, a bearded dragon which is a type of lizard from Australia.
Donna, you do make me laugh with your stories. Those vultures of yours sure are something else.
Great to see everyone else here.
I reactivated the thread.
Hi, Anne. Welcome to the group and the site. Have you been using Care2 long?
