Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things here are good. I had no cats outside this morning! Don't know where Tigger got off to as she's been staying close. Hopefully she'll be here tomorrow. Not much going on here, just my usual

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Laura, you're very creative with your stories.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sandi, you're welcome.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sugar, yes, I figured tail up is a good sign. Now just to be able to tell!  I'll get there, I will. Glad to hear Tiger's  doing so well. Yes, keep him house bound for now. He really doesn't need  to go outside. He just thinks he does! Hope you have a great church service.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Hi, Darla. Yes. I have always been that way. I might get it finished tonight. It will wrap up with us working on the case even though we are going through the anniversary of Gandalf's death because he would have wanted us to work and it is finally over, and we are still working on it and we chase a suspect into a deserted house one evening and we are trying to capture him and I get shot in the leg, but it is only a graze, and Kili catches me and sits me down in a chair and Thorin comes over to check out my injury and he starts cutting up my pants to get a look at the wound and I try to make him stop because the pants I have on are my good pants, but Thorin is scared from me getting shot and just wants to make sure I'm all right and he finally cuts enough of my pants off and gets a look at my leg and is relieved that I didn't get hurt worse and he cries a bit because my getting shot upset him some and I hug him and let him cry on my shoulder for a bit and then we take the suspect in for questioning and take me to the hospital to get patched up, and I spend the evening at the safe house with Thorin and the team being very attentive to me and one early morning, someone is pounding on the safe house door and that wakes us up and Thorin has become very protective of me since my bullet grazing incident and has me stand behind him and James opens the door and it is his colleague that he has been looking for and he has escaped from S.P.E.C.T.E.R. and he is half dead from getting shot as he escaped and we take him to the hospital and he recovers and as soon as he is strong enough, we take him back to London and James hands in his report of the case and even though they didn't have to, Thorin and the rest of the team hand in their own reports, so M has a lot of reading to do about the case, and it is time for Dawson and I to go home and we go to Heathrow and Thorin and the team are going back to San Diego, but on a different flight, and they sit with us while we are waiting for our flight and then our flight it called and we say good bye and Thorin says a traditional Dwarvish blessing for us to safeguard us on our homeward journey and Fili and Kili are all over me, hugging me and they are a little tearful because they don't want to be parted from me because they have been with us for so long and I tell them that they are always welcome at my apartment and that goes for the rest of the group as well and our flight is called and we go home and get resettled and then Thorin and his team are back in San Diego and that is the end of it. I won't be writing any more stories after this. Nothing much going on here today. It rained hard this morning, so my walk was a bit delayed, but I did it.

Hi

Just dropping by to say hello.  I am feeling better today, as the weather is sunny but not hot – I just don’t cope with the heat well anymore!

David and I had a quiet Christmas.  Bumbles bounced around the lounge with some Christmas paper, whilst Saki sat on my knee and purred for most of the day.  He hasn’t done that since Minky died, so it was very, very nice!

And just before Christmas, my Gang-Gangs came back J  Here is one on the bird bath.

GangGang_001.jpg

I love having them about, with their funny creaky voices.   And David has now set up what we call the Gang-Gang’s swimming pool – it’s a large trough which we put bricks in so that they can get to the water easily.  Gang-Gang’s don’t like to get their feet wet!  And as we currently have a flock of about 20 – which will get larger as summer goes on – they need quite a bit of water.  So, we are back on water duty again.

Hi Darla,

Hope you see Tigger tomorrow!  How is beautiful Baby Face today?

Hi Sugar,

I read on the previous thread that Tiger is an ambusher J  So is Bumbles!  I love to watch him, but Saki is less impressed!

Hi Donna,

I am glad that Bubba is back with you and will get his heating pad back.  Have you still got any vultures left with you, or have they all flown on?

Hi Laura,

Hope you are having a good day today.

Well, I must get back to work.  I am still writing cards and I want to do some gardening later and also pick an embroidery to do for my great niece!

3 years ago

Well, I didn't get to the cards, but I had a lovely time in the garden.  Two Gang-Gangs decided to fly in to have a closer look at me.  They came within a couple of feet - that's the thing about parrots - they are so terribly curious about everything!  They are also very intelligent and mischievous - it is literally like having a bunch of flying five year old children!

When they had gone, a baby rosella came to have a chat.  He's been around a while and I don't know why he finds me so interesting!  We've had a few chats now.  I guess he likes the noises I make

Then, just as I was about to come in, I heard the koala start up his territorial call quite near me.  And this time I spotted him - he was up one of our pine trees and eating pine needles for some bizarre reason.  I hope they don't make him ill - he's only supposed to eat eucalypts!

Ahhh, a very good day!

Val, your home sounds terrific! All the beautiful, interesting birds and of course your Maitland and Bumbles and Saki to keep you and David company. I wish I had lots and lots of time! I would love to read up on your part of Australia but I have less time than money and I don't have much money, so does that tell you anything? Your picture is beautiful. What is that big leafed plant in the foreground? The plant near the birdbath looks similar to rosemary. I have a vine that has flowers that looks a lot like yours. What is it called? My vine is a wisteria. Hi Laura and Darla. My washer just rang. The second load of laundry is ready to be hung up. I have great little fold up clothes hangers for hanging laundry. Everyone have a wonderful week. Stock up for snow just in case. Sugar

Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Well Tigger was back this morning and Black Beauty was here as well! Black Beauty actually headbutted me to get me to pet her. Our weather changed again and we did not get down to freezing overnight. It was 40 at 6:30 this morning when I went out on the porch. Not much going on here, just my usual.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Laura, like your story. Why won't you be writing anymore? Glad you got your walk in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Val, absolutely love the picture of the Gang Gang! Beautiful bird. How cool that they and that baby rosella come up and check you out and talk to you. It's great that Saki sat on you and purred. How cool that you saw the koala but how strange that he was in a pine tree eating pine needles. BabyFace is doing great. Thanks for asking. I give him chin scratches from you every time I get him out of his habitat.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sugar, you saying your washer rang reminded me of an episode on "Two and a Half Men" where Allan tells Charlie the washer will ring his cell phone when it's done. Seriously, glad you got your laundry done and hung up. It's great you have a thing to hang up your laundry.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.

Hey, Darla. Because it cuts into the time I spend on Facebook. I wrote the scene and I actually did get shot and Thorin heard the shot and he ran upstairs to check on me and I had passed out, and Bofur was holding me and Oin, as the team's healer, was having Balin make a temporary bandage out his his robes and Thorin lost his composure for a bit because this is the first time he's ever seen me badly hurt and he asked what happened and Balin said that we had all cornered the suspect and he just hauled off and shot me and would have finished me off if Bofur hadn't thrown a sack of rice at him, and then followed that up with a bag of fermented black bean curd paste and he was down and Bifur was sitting on him and had him in a toe hold and asked Thorin how I was, and Thorin said I was going to be all right, and Kili had just been on his cell phone with the paramedics and they were coming and Thorin was relieved to hear that and then the ambulance came and took me to the hospital and I went into surgery and the team waited in the waiting room and Thorin remarked that Dawson was very calm about what had just happened and Dawson told him that I had been shot before and it wasn't a big deal and Thorin was reassured by that and he was reading his book of devotions when a novice nun who is working at the hospital saw that he was still wound up about me getting shot and gave him a cup of tea and Thorin told her all about the case and Kili almost flirted with her and Bilbo channeled Gibbs and smacked him on the back of the head and reminded him that a novice nun should not be tempted when she is just starting out, and then the surgeon who looked after me said that I was going to be all right, but that I had lost a lot of blood and needed a transfusion and Kili did the transfusion and felt a bit faint afterwards since they hadn't had dinner yet, and Fili had a scone in his bag that he carries with him when we are out investigating and that helped, and they went to see me for a bit and I was still unconscious and they went out to dinner, and then came back and I came to and Bofur was sitting with me when I came to and told me everything that had happened and that was the first time that he'd ever seen Thorin upset like that and then Thorin came in and was happy to see that I was awake and doing a little bit better and he hugged me and we sat up talking for a while and I fell asleep.

Aaron's sister posted some pictures of him at Christmas and he got a lot of presents. One of my favorite pictures of him is when he is cuddling with his baby cousin and reading "If You Send A Mouse To School" with her. It was so cute! His sister also posted a picture of him making gingerbread houses.

Did you heard about the Formula One race car driver that had a bad ski accident in Switzerland and is in the hospital in Grenoble?

Good Morning and Happy New Year's Eve Day everyone!  Oh, it's cold outside.  I just came in from putting a couple of chicken legs out for the hawk this morning.  There are light snow flurries too.

I'm getting hungry, got all my morning chores done, so time to fix breakfast!

Take care,

Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Went out on the porch yesterday afternoon to clean up extra bowls and Sunshine was out there! She wanted attention and food in that order ~ she wouldn't eat 'til after getting lots of petting from me. This morning it was just Tigger who backed away from me when I tried to pet her. Oh well, there's always tomorrow. Not much going on here, just my usual.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sandi, cute little video. I'm sure Stripes is a lot of help! It's great you got a humidifier from your dad for your birthday. Ice in the heated water bowl? Brrrr, that sure is cold out! Love the New Year's pictures you posted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Laura, oh okay. Your story is good. Glad to hear Aaron had a good Christmas. Him cuddling with and reading to his cousin sure sounds like an excellent picture. No, didn't hear about the race care driver getting hurt. Hope he {she?} will be okay.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sugar, I think it's cool you have a hawk eating at your feeding tree. Glad you got your morning chores done. Have a goodo breakfast.
Elena, love the picture you posted. Great to see you here.
Good evening, I am finally getting around to this thread. It has been a bust couple of days trying to get this computer to cooperate. I am not getting my sign in 100 points every 3 or 4 days, I am not getting emails in my in box from all of the threads in all the groups I belong to, so I do not know when some one writes a posting. I need to go to each and every one., and while I am on one ...another posting is being placed in a different thread so I miss a lot of them it took me three days to find the NEW YEARS Thread. and in the last couple of days When I go to give ougreen stars for good pictures and postings...I get a blank white sheet with a message that says I am trying to perform an invalid posting or it says the page does not exist. so I have to reboot or change browsers. IT IS becoming a pain. But I will not give up ...I will figure out what is going on. I love al the picturs of the birds, I love the stories Laura tells. Stripes on Sandi's computer. Wendy you always out do yourself with pretty pictures. Sugar sounds like me, housework, dishes and laundry never end. You all have a safe night and great beginning to 2014 on Wednesday. Sincerely Kay M.
3 years ago
I'm glad he had a great Christmas, too. He is very good with his little cousin. She loves him. I added one more part to my story. I couldn't resist and was teasing Kili about the blood transfusion he did for me and asked him if his blood was going to turn me into a dwarf and he and Fili and Thorin laughed for a long time and then finally got themselves under control and Kili said that his blood would not turn me into a dwarf and the only thing it would do was help me get back up to my full strength and then he started rubbing his leg where his scar is from when I lanced the corruption from his gunshot wound infection and I asked him if he was all right and he said that his scar was paining him and that it wasn't a big deal and I told him to go to Chung, the surgeon who had looked after me during my surgery and he went to him and told him about the gunshot wound infection he had had and that I took care of him on my own and Chung was very impressed by what I did and examined Kili's leg and there was a lot of scar tissue building up, so Kili had to go into surgery to have a debridement, and Chung and his surgical team let Fili be in the operating room with Kili because they didn't use anything on Kili to put him under, so Fili helped him get through the worst of the pain and Kili's leg was a lot better after that. I showed Mom Aaron's Christmas pictures and she really enjoyed them, especially the one of him cuddling with his cousin and reading to her. The race car driver is a man, Michael Schumacher, and he is much more comfortable today. The doctors took him in for surgery last night to relieve the pressure on his brain, so he is much more comfortable now. There haven't been any recent updates, so I assume he is doing well. Wow, I can't believe it is almost 2014! It seems like this year has gone by so fast.
3 years ago
Sadly Schumacher isn't out of the woods yet and is still critical, had he not been wearing a helmet when skiing, he would not be here at all, it was a severe brain injury, I dread to think how hard he hit his head , at speed skiing downhill, it must have been shocking for his 10 year old son to witness, >pray he makes a full recovery, -as yet the surgeons cannot say %#&!*%
~
Well everyone it is 2014 here, and has been for an hour, we watched a fantastic firework display on the T.V in London, but better than that , we "skyped" my two sons , who were at a party, we did the countdown with everyone and one by one wished all happy new year, you still await 2014, so I will leave you to welcome it in, love hugs kisses for a haappy healthy safe 2014 to everyone here on cat lovers x wendy k & kelly cats, >>>love todays quote on care2 >>>
Hi Wendy,
It is not New Years yet here. It is 9:43. It is 6:43 in California where care2 is located. Happy New Year to you. I can not watch the ball come down as
The TV quit working, as the wires were burning up. Thank you CATS....
So, the computer is working so far. maybe 2014 will be better. I got
cold water in the kitchen sink now but the bathroom sink has only hot when it is turned on that is. He still has to crawl under the house to fix two bad leaks. The hot water leak is the worst.
His car is coming along but he has to do a little more to it before I can take it on the road.  Mine will sit out back for a long time. It needs so much done to it.  He put a fuze in his car, and it will work the seats for me, but it shuts off for some reason, and he has to find out what the reason is. He has to get the mirror up in the front too. I always look through that one when I drive.
Bubba is doing great in here.  He is such a nice cat. Romeo went up to him and swatted him, and Bubba just looked at him , and walked away. Bubba keeps finding new beds to lay in. He is back in the living room again in a home made hammock. He is a huge cat. We are not sure who the biggest is here. It is between him and Henry..... He eats more than Henry does though.... So does old Critter. She eats her breakfast and dinner, and then cleans up the other plates. She is the old cat that I was given at a church I attended. The woman that gave her to me moved to Florida, and she calls once in a while to see how she is doing. I told her when I took Critter that she will not be given back to her......
Well, I just read a good article..... light bulbs will be illegal in a couple of hours. The article did say that 3 way bulbs can be sold. The newer more expenive bulbs will be used. Actually, they last a whole lot longer than the regular bulbs.
Sheesh, I feel lost without watching my shows before falling asleep, but I would not want to fall asleep with the house catching fire either/
Wild Willy is living up to his name. Every time we open the front door we have to hold him so the other one can get out. he got out again today, and Jimmy has to stand at one end of the bushes and me at the other trying to catch him. He went along side of the house, and could have climbed the fence to get in, and then, he might have gone under the house or something, and that would not be fun...... He pounces on me when he jumps from the back of the couch to the floor. He still jumps up on Jimmy too, and hangs on,,,, He is 3 times bigger than when he first got here.   OUCH....
Donna I don't know how you do it, I so wish you better luck with cars and electrical items in 2014, well here it is now , 3 -21 am, I was going to attempt the wooden hill to bedfordshire  2 hours ago, that was to be my first challenge of 2014, it will now be an even greater challenge of 2014 , he he, I am willing good fortune to you, and all my friends on cat lovers, it will happen , love hugs x wendy k x & sleeping angel ? >kelly cats xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
bless your heart Wendy. I  hate to tell you this but chaos will always be a part of my life. Especially since we have Willy here breaking everything he can find. he just got a candle with a plastic light that someone got me for Christmas at the bible study. I was going to let the cats out in the barn shed have it. They have dim lighting, and this would have been nice. He loves to hear things crash, and he loves to bat things around.
When I life the couch I find all my important stuff under there.... Willy did it!!!!
Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things here are good. Well, I have to water and wrap my plants later today as it'll be dropping to 29 by tomorrow morning. Tigger was the only one here this morning. She was pretty playful, rolling around and leaping in the air! She even showed me her belly once! However, she did not allow me to pet her. Ray and I didn't do much for New Year's Eve. In fact, he was in bed at 9:00 and I followed around 10:30. We'll eat traditional black eye peas later today. Not much going on here, just my usual.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kay, sorry you're having so much trouble with your computer and Care2. Hope you get it figured out soon. I hope you get your butterfly credits too. I don't get most of the ones that pop up and offer 50 credits and give you a petition to sign. I was owed over 500 credits in a few days time then I stopped counting.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Laura, like your story. It's great you shared Aaron's Christmas photos with your mom. Thanks for the update on the race car driver, Michael Schumacher.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Wendy, thanks for the update on Schumacher. Sounds like it was a horrific accident. Glad y'all skyped your sons. That must've made your New Year's Eve special.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Donna, sorry your TV quit working. Glad to hear that Bubba is doing so well.  Light bulbs will be illegal? Wonder what I'll use for BabyFace then. I have to have a light bulb that puts out heat. Sorry Wild Willy breaks so many things. I know you love him anyway.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sally, love the beautiful picture you posted.

Sandi, love the adorable picture you posted.

Something good just  happened!  Since Kenny was diagnosed with congestive heart failure he ate all on his own just now!  For all these weeks that he has been given meds he hasn't eaten unless I take the food to him and sit with him while he eats.  He ate dry cat food all on his own!  He hasn't eaten dry since getting sick.  I had been taking a tablespoon or so to him 6 or 7 times a day.  He must feel better anyway.  And he has made it to 2014!  yay Kenny!

My sauerkraut smells delicious!  It's making me hungry.  Maybe that's what made Kenny hungry!

I had a lot of fun writing it, Darla, especially the parts where we all rallied around eachother and helped eachother get through the emotional aftermath of Gandalf's death. Thorin told Kili and Fili that their main concern was to look after me and make sure I did not slip into a depression, and Fili and Kili helped get me out of the funk I was in. When Aaron's accident first happened and during his recovery, I kept her updated every day. In that group of pictures, there was also a picture of Aaron posing with his dad's big Great Dane. You're welcome. Schumacher is a little more stable today, but there is nothing much going on. I didn't have my walk today because it was raining all day today. We had a wet, rainy and cold start to 2014. Mom was in another one of her house cleaning frenzy moods and made me do some extra chores and I was quite thirsty after that and I had some Lifewater. Mom and Dad didn't get to play tennis today because of the rain, but they might get to do it tomorrow if the weather clears. We have just about gotten my Apple T.V. device all set up. Mom is going to call Apple later on this week to ask them some follow up questions.

Hi Sandi, Cindy, Donna, Sugar, Darla, Wendy, Kay, Elena, and Laura (and whoever might pop in later on!)! Just wanted to say hi and happy new year to everyone

I've been enjoying my mini-vacation...I go back to work next Monday and trying not to think about it! Cleaned all day, was able to read some of my book, and relax a little. Hey, I got to act like my cats for a while, hahaha.

Darla, thank you for your well wishes

We figured out that our kitty Spike has a condition called feline hyperesthesia, or twitching of the spine. He'll be sitting normally and all of a sudden act like he's being attacked and his spine will look like it's rippling. It drives him crazy It's not life-threatening, but it is upsetting to know that he is suffering. I saw a cat who had severe hyperesthesia on Animal Planet's "Cat From Hell" with Jackson Galaxy a while ago. Has anyone ever heard of it or had a cat with this disorder? If so what did you do to help your cat?

Thank you for any advice or insights into this condition...we are going to call our vet tomorrow and possibly try some Feliway to help him calm down...anxiety makes this condition worse and he is a high-evergy kitty

Hugs,

Kristi

3 years ago

Hi kristi,

I've seen some of my cats ripple across their back but I never thought much of it. I took it as they are just sensitive to touch, and that they are contemplating something, sort of like when they are tapping their tail up and down. Also, kind of like when we see something creepy, and our hairs are standing straight up and down on our arms....

Oh, my Willy is a high energy cat that is growing quickly.... Oh well, I think I will sit on the stove for a while. It is nice and warm since  I had the oven going.

3 years ago

Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well   and with things going great. Things are good here. Tigger wasn't here this morning. Hopefully she'll be here later today and will be back tomorrow. Not much going on here, just my usual.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sugar, that's great news about Kenny!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Donna, so Willy's a high energy cat huh? Well, maybe he'll settle down as he ages. One can always hope! Stay warm even if it  does mean sitting on the stove. Just don't stay on it too long.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cindy, love the picture you posted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sandi, great to see you here.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Laura, It's great you had lots of fun writing it. That must've been some picture of Aaron ~ him posing with a Great Dane! Sorry you didn't have your walk and your parents couldn't play tennis. Hope the rain eases up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kristi, glad you've been enjoying your mini-vacation. You're welcome for the well wishes. Sorry to hear about Spike's condition. I've never heard of it. While I'm glad it's not life threatening I'm sorry it causes him to suffer.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.
Well Darla, the stove is cool now. It won't get warm until I use the oven... Then , that is ALL I can use. The cats on the table are piled up on top of a heated pad. They will not budge either.
Sandrea, that picture on the front page is so cute. It must be 4 Willys as he has a thing about shoes and laces. He MUST until all shoes.... He is right next to me with a few other cats as we have one of the old fashioned bulbs in the desk lamp, and all kinds of heat somes out of it. As of Jan. 1st, you can not buy them....
I hope they don't have a police task force checking to see what kind of light bulbs we are using.
I tried to send a few stars, and got the message that it was in error as it is a 403 error, and cannot send the star.
3 years ago
Donna I've been getting it also. I bought a bunch of the old  style light bulbs last year.
3 years ago
Hey, Darla. Yes, it was some picture. The dog is so tall that he comes up midway to Aaron's chest. it rained again today, but the weather will be clearing tomorrow. Saturday, Mom and Dad have tennis and I will be going with them because our former patients, the Ridelhoover's, might be meeting us for lunch, and Mom and Dad don't want to have to rush home to get me and then drive back into town and meet them. They are going to Tampa to go on a cruise. I was on Youtube last night and watched a really funny video of various dogs being resistant to having baths. It was hilarious! Have you seen it? I finished the first of my Christmas movies, "Pillars Of The Earth" today, and started in on "Olympus Has Fallen." It is really good so far.
Good Evening Ladies, Sandy, Sally, Laura, Val, Wendy, Elena, Sugar, Darla, Cindy, Donna, and K.O.; Sorry it is so late today but I am having more problems this time similar to Donna's when I go to award a green star, I get a blank page on some on others I get a statement that says invalid entry, and I have to start all over again, Something that should take a few hours is taking over 10-12 hours to accomplish. between reading threads, signing petitions., commenting on articles, sending out green stars, Oh well it does fill my day. Oh Donna, Do you have a carbon monoxide monitor, because I use to warm my home with my oven and my alarm would let me know when the C/M will build up and I would move to another room., so be careful. also if you need more old time bulbs. Home Depot and Lowe's said they have a 6 month supply in stock. So you can buy them now and put them in your closet for later. The cops will not stop you from using them, they will just stop companies from buying any more and making any more. They will only manufacture the new type. Sandi, while I was going thru this thread, COCO spotted Stripes again walking across the computer, we gave her another green star. Coco keeps wanting to try that with me, but thank goodness she can not jump on the computer from the ground. And I will not pick her up to allow that. All I will let her do is sit on my lap and watch while we go thru all the threads. You know to think about it, What do I really know when she and the fur buddies are on Mouse's Thread. She may be walking all over this thing.....HA HA HA Let me close for now, the computer is blinking I may get my posting dropped. Till later Sincerely Kay M.
Hi everyone.  I have hoarded light bulbs too.  I don't like these expensive types.  They just aren't right.
Sandi sorry about your sadness.  How is your Dad doing?  Mouse wants to know if you and his sweetheart are snowed in?  I wil find out if I am shortly.  I have to leave in another hour or so.
Hi Kay, Laura, Donna, Darla, Kristi, Cindy and anyone I've missed!  Hope all is well with everyone,
I started switching out incandescent for fluorenscent bulbs around my house 4 years ago and since I put them in, I haven't changed a lightbulb except for the ones on the outside of the house.  They were kind of expensive when I bought them which made me take pause but I went ahead with it anyway.  They are cheaper now and the quality is improving all the time.  Now that I look back, I haven't bought lightbulbs in a long time and I have a supply in the cupboard, waiting for use.  Even my Christmas lights are new L.E.D. bulbs and stay nice and cool now which makes me feel alot better about having them lit up on the tree for hours at a time.    LED lights are even brighter than the CFL's and they are rated to 35,000 hours or more.  (that's almost 4 years of continuous 24 hour use)  I left my spare room for last as my Grandson was still living with me at that time and he hates change more than anyone I know although he's only 20.  I had one 4 pack of 100W bulbs and in that year, we went through all 4 of them in his room.  I now totally believe in the price savings of the newer bulbs over the old. Yes they are harder to dispose of but I already spend alot of time recycling to keep stuff out of the landfill so this just means that lightbulbs won't be going in there since they need special care to dispose of safely.  I will have to take them to the recycle place myself when I go with my old batteries and electronics a few times a year.
Change is never easy but I am all for trying to save energy and especially money.  If that means not using those lightbulbs that have been burning my fingers for most of my life, well I guess so be it.
It is -33 outside this morning and I am soooo hoping that it isn't windy    My cats are racing around the house like wild things and I don't know why.  I'm sure the animals outside are hunkered down in a warm little corner trying to stay warm....I need to get out there and bring them some warm food.  Have a great day everyone and if you have to go outside, COVER UP!!  My neighbour went ice fishing yesterday and got frostbite in her toes from being out there too long.  It was so cold yesterday but today, it's even colder.  Stay warm!!
