I personally love Ragdolls and Maine Coons. Persians are so fluffy
Maybe we'll magic up some replies here.
I love all cats!
Mine are all moggies and I love them to bits. I love all cats regardless of breed or breeding.
I love all cats as well but have a preference for long hairs. As far abreeds go I LOVE Maine Coons! I have two girls! My boys are mutts like my other cats have been in the past. Mutts seem to have the best personalities.
Rescues are my favourite cat breed. Lol
Lol nice Michela.
That's nice Valerie.
The magic worked!
I agree with Sandi & Michela. However I have a tortie so thats a favourite,Ive also had black cats, tabbies, maine coon & ginger so I love all those tooThats what I would be looking for at the humane society however 2 of my gingers were cats that were strays which were given to us or found by my dog,we were walking in the snow & he sniffed out a pregnant
Cat which had been abandoned took her home & she had 5 kittens. The neighbour kids watched her give birth in our basment,a good lesson for them all. When they were 8 weeks old we kept on(ginger) & gave the rest to the humane society. We called him Paddy kelly we had him about a year but then he was stolen as he just looked like Morris,a really beautiful cat.We put notices in the paper & round the neighbour hood.We got a phone call about an abandoned ginger cat that had been in the food barn parking lot,we went to check it out,it wasnt our cat but we took it anyway.Turned out to be the sweetest cat ever & we had her a long time.
I don't really have3 a favorite breed but I do think the blue eyed Siamese is attractive, and I think the bald ones are cute. I was telling my brother that I almost hate to mention that I have cats while I am shopping in the cat food isle, as someone always wants to know what KIND of cats do I have.
My brother gave me the perfect answer, and I used it. I said I have the kind with 4 legs and a tail..... All conversation ended there....
I love them all but would love to have a Scottish-fold cat, with those cute ears folded down.
Ha,ha Donna that is hilarious. I may use that too, if you don't mind. That really made me laugh this morning, thank you.
Sally, I love Scottish-folds too, my Teddy has one folded down ear and it is really cute. He was bit by a dog before I brought him home and it damaged the nerves so it doesn't stand up anymore.
what a great answer Donna
Sugar I agree
Michela your Teddy sounds cute!
Sally they are a nice cat
Never heard of moggies.
Six kitties for the price of one.
Not 100% sure, but I think moggie is an English expression for what someone here might call an alley cat.. I don't care for either word actually, as like people, the best are the mixed breeds. Notice with people, if you have only one nationality, you probably have a big nose..... I think mixed kitties are sweet.....
I´d better clear up the "moggy" thing. A moggy is a cat of mixed and unknown breed but in the UK the term isn´t used in a derogative way.
Here in Spain they say "gato de la calle" which translates as "street cat" very similar to the "alley cat" that Donna mentioned.
Valerie mentioned the word "mutt" and I think that she was referring to the same thing but in the UK this word is generally used in describing a dog and not quite as acceptable as "mongrel".
All my cats turned up on my doorstep and I didn´t think to ask for their lineage!
Apart from Thai Chee who is a Siamese mix, all the others have been classed by the vet as European. I love them dearly as they have great purrsonalities and wouldn´t swap them for a pedigree of any breed.
Ah I see.
Off topic, but did anyone have to type verification codes to prove they weren't a bot for ecards?
It was extremely annoying and time consuming.
I had to keep reminding myself it was for the animals.
Otherwise, I probably would have said, screw it.
It should have been at least 50 points a card, for all that hassle.
Five points a card, was an insult.
But still every little bit helps.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
My cat, keeps waking me up.
I am not trying to be critical, but why are you making a post for each sentence you put in? It looks strange...
Like everyone i love all cats mine are all rescued one was a stray who chose to live with us. Like Michela i have a soft spot for the Scottish Fold and also the Scottish Wildcat which is in decline but i'd give a home to any cat regardless.
This is the Scottish Wildcat, just thought i'd post a pic.
What an awesome looking cat Linda!
Like all Cat Lovers here I heart all cats...and I would never ever buy from a breeder because there are so many in shelters waiting for their furr-ever homes But I do love fluffy long-haired kitties, so my favorite breeds are the Maine Coon and Norwegian Forest Cat. We have three rescues: Whiskers is part Norwegian Forest, Gingersnap is part Maine Coon and Spikey is a striped tabby guy
Linda, what a beautiful Scottish wildcat. Donna, lol, I might have to steal that comeback about 4 legs and a tail too.
Thank you Penny, hi Kristi lovely to see you again it's been such a long time, and Donna i was lol and i will remember your brother's answer that was a good one.
I loved my Blue Point Siamese. He was very sweet and gave great hugs. RIP Nick.
I'm trying to get my credits.
Lots of Scottish kitty fan.s Nice Rhonda.
Ashley, I think you only get 2 credits per post? I kind of thought you might think you are in a chat room.. I know there use to be one here on care2. Not sure if they opened one back up or not.
Linda, my brother had a dry sense of humor. I think what was even more amusing was the stunned look on the persons face...
SCOTTISH FOLD CAT,
Another SCOTTISH FOLD CAT, they come in all sorts of colours, plain , tortie, stripes, tux type sweet aren't they xxxx
NOW for Donna, xxxxx
What is a "Moggy"? For those of you who are not British a "Moggy" is an informal name for a Cat - "Mog" or "Moggy" is the singular, "Moggies" is the plural.
The definition of a Moggy is a cat or kitten that does not belong to any recognised breed. It is also an informal name in the United Kingdom for a cat whether the cat is a recognised breed or not (kind of confusing isn't it - that's the English Language for you!)
Thanks for those lovely pics of all those kitties Wendy. I love how the cats can come in all sorts of colors. Thanks for the info' on the word moggy.
I don't know, I hate to be a spoil sport, but I really dislike breeding cats with a flaw. Mikey was a Scotish Fold and he had more medical problems. He belonged to a friend. Don't get me wrong, if I found one I would love and care for it, but never try to breed to reproduce more. German Shepherd dogs have been so badly bred that they look crippled in the rear end now. I love German Shepherds and have owned a couple but they were the old fashioned shepherds. Forgive me if I have hurt any feelings, I didn't mean too, just expressing my feelings.
Linda, that Scotish Wildcat looks like a cat I would love to have. My grandfather had a cat that looked a lot like it.
Love to all cats, and dogs!
Five credits per post, for a maximum of 10 posts. Fifty credits per day.
certainly havent hurt my feelings Sugar, I agree with you, I had a German Shepherd to, we named him "Rowdy" after "Rowdy Yates" from "Rawhide" no particular reason just liked Rawhide, the first time I had to take him to the vet, Rowdy stiffened his legs, I ended up pulling across slate tiles, him with his legs almost straight, the vet was laughing, and said he doesn't live up to his name, he he he luckily his hips were fine.
I will look for another pic of the longhaired Scottish cat beautiful cats,
Thanks Sally glad notice how the definition is careful to say the "English Language" more like the "English" we are an eccentric lot he he he x wendy k x & kelly cats xxxxxxxxxxxx
Here is a long haired Scottish cat
and theres more>>>
This cat looks alot like my beloved "SOX" who crossed the rainbow bridge 5 years ago, he was Mini's brother, if anything SOX was fluffier, and had tuffs at the end of his ears as Mini does , not sure if he and Min are Scottish longhaired but they do look like them>the breed I mean x wendy k x & kelly cats xxxx
That Scottish cat is gorgeous, but it does not look like the scottish fold.
Good evening Ladies; Donna, Wendy, Penny, Ashley, Sugar, Sally, Linda, K.O., Sandi, Maura, Vlerie, Michela, and Rhonda; I love each and ever picture and comment posted here, I learn so much from you all about cats and their likes and dislikes. I think every cat whether or not they are pure breed or mixed is beautiful in their own right. How do they say it, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Some people like large cats and dogs, some people like little cats and dogs, so to each there own, It is what hits you when your eyes meet, the pet looks at you and knows you need them as much as he or she needs you. and it is love at first sight, that is how I felt about COCO the moment I met her. she walked over where I was sitting, put her front paws on my knee, looked into my eyes, as if to say it will be ok because now I am here and you will not be lonely any more, And boy was she right. All we can do is love them, be there for them, and open our selves to them. And all love and goodness will flood into us. Keep the pictures coming, I will back to give out green stars later, Sincerely Kay M.
I love long haired exotics such as Birmese, Balinese, Snowshoe etc. I've always had a soft spot for Maine Coons though... they are so clever, laid-back and affectionate.
Kay you are so right! My first Basenji was given to me because his owners couldn't do anything with him. He tore things up, pooped everywhere and was just generally obnoxious. They couldn't stand him any more. I tell you what, when I looked in Senji's eyes (he had a long name Ramses's something or other) and when he looked at me it was love at first sight. I lived on a farm and he lived his life out there a very happy dog. He never did any of the things his previous owners said he did. He was very protective, a good couch potato at night and a help on the farm. And he never made a mess in the house. He never was put on a chain or in a cage in our home. Chewy is my 3rd Basenji and just as loving. They are good dogs when loved and living as a family member. All dogs are when loved.
