Once again it's time to start a new thread. Here's the link to the previous one ~
Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Ray saw Tigger yesterday afternoon! She was hanging around outside the window and talking to Kona. She wasn't here this morning though. At least I know she's still around. Black Beauty was here bright and early to wish Kona a Happy Birthday! The furkids are here 'til later today, maybe early evening. Not much going on here, just my usual.
Sandi, great to see you here. Love the "weekend" picture.
Sugar, Black and White's being really good. He must've heard that Kona's another black and white cat and decided that tuxedoes must stick together! He and Kona have been hanging out, with the dogs too of course.
Gail, thanks for the great video.
Laura, oh, okay. So, at what age do the foals get sold? Seems they should at least call them by some sort of name 'til they're sold. It wouldn't have to be an official name. Glad you had such a great time with the foal.
Wendy, glad you copied your post so you didn't lose it. That's great that the union is working to get Keith 18 months severence pay. Hope he gets it. Yes, cannabis butter for Keith's toast should work to get rid of his pain and increase his appetite. You and Buni and your sense of humor!
Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.
Hey, Darla. Looks like we're the only ones in here tonight. I wonder where everybody else is? I don't remember what age they are sold at. This is actually Italy Girl's first foal. Mom and Dad had their tennis lesson today and we ended up going to a different Mexican restaurant because Latino's wasn't open, and then we went to the movie theater and I saw Desolation Of Smaug again in IMAX 3D, and the movie gets better every time I see it. I still feel bad for Kili every time he gets shot with that arrow. The part where they're in Bard's house and he collapses on one of the beds was a bit worrying. He really should have told Oin about how his leg was doing instead of keeping quiet about it. I go in for my riding lesson tomorrow, and then on Tuesday, Mom and I are going to Wiregrass Mall to see my Aunt Chrissy from Ohio and some of her friends. It is still too cold in Ohio and Chrissy bailed out. I'm going to re work my story a bit. The part where Dawson and I arrive at the inn and have our reunion with Thorin and the team. Thorin is wearing a really nice kimono as his evening wear, and Fili and Kili are wearing similar ones, and Thorin gives me a big hug and laughs because he is happy to see me again and tells me how pretty I look and asks Dawson how he can stand having such a pretty partner and Dawson says that he manages and then Thorin realizes that Fili and Kili haven't greeted me yet and Fili and Kili are really happy to see me and give me big hugs and congratulate me on my new partner and we end up having to wait for Bilbo before James starts the briefing and Bilbo arrives a bit late because the GPS in his rental car made him go the wrong way and it took him a while to get back on track.
Good Evening to all the Mommies and Aunts of the fur buddies, I see not only did the kids take off the weekend, but we did the same, How do you say it When the kids are away, MOM will play. Since Sweet Aunt Darla had all the fur buddies and friends, All of us Mommies, Aunts, and Nanni took off to have a great fantasy weekend at that beautiful beach that Aunt Wendy showed us in the thread ( PICTURES THAT BLOW YOUR MIND ) Can't you just picture us ....relaxing , sipping pretty drinks, with small umbrellas in them, being waited on by nice looking young men. A Woman Can Dream Can't She......HA HA HA . Oh well getting back to reality How is everyone doing really. It has been slow today, So I tried to get caught up on other groups and threads. I also went thru my sent, received, and trash bins in my email department.on my profile page. The kids should be back tomorrow and everything will go back to normal again, I will say Good Night and Sweet Dreams to all. Till Monday I remain, Sincerely COCO'S NANNI ( aka Kay M.)
Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. I had an impatient cat on my doorstep this morning. Poor Black Beauty, I got into my book this morning and was nearly 30 minutes late getting outside! I did water my plants while I was outside as well. I need to sweep my porch and clean BabyFace's habitat. Not much going on here, just my usual.
Laura, it is a little quiet in here. So, it is Italy Girl's first foal. That's great! Sorry Latino's wasn't open. You saw "Desolation of Smaug" a third time? You must really like that movie. Enjoy seeing your Aunt Chrissy. Nice reworking of your story.
Kay, guess all the moms went somewhere b'cuz they're not here. The furkids had a great time here.
Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.
I know I've not said much about little Joey. Main reason for that -- not at all sure whether or not he'd become a permanent member of the family. This little ball of fur was brought to me early in November by my daughter-in-law. Joey was 6 weeks old at that time. Ginger hated him from the moment he entered the house. Hiss, growl, slap, lunge -- and it has gotten NO better. I'm a very patient person (with animals!) so wanted to give it plenty of time. I'm beginning to have serious doubts about Ginger EVER accepting him. I was thinking about finding Joey another home if Ginger continued her hiss, growl, slap, lunge every time they were in the same room.
Well, this morning I took Joey to the vet again. He's getting his final vaccination -- for rabies. And he's being neutered. I dropped him off at the vet's office at 7:45 this morning. I've been trying to keep busy. But, I find myself watching the clock. I can call to check on him around 3:00 p.m. I will probably do that at 2:59! I can probably pick him up around 4:00 p.m. if he's doing well. I'll plan to be there at 3:59! I can't believe how much I miss that little stinker today!! Could I ever place Joey in another home? No, I don't think so....!
Betty you made my day saying Joey's going to stay. Hope Ginger accepts him.
Hello all, I have finally finished all the paper work, that goes hand in hand with emergency call out work, I have decided to work only 2 days, now starting April, I have to train up 2 people, to do my job, they will job share, it is too much, they are piling cases onto me, which were badly handled, the worst part is, the kids are affected more than anyone, (the kids in care that is) I simply am sick of apologising for other people, on the same grade as me and the same money , who cannot do their jobs, we work with "damaged kids" who have seen and felt too much , by hands that were supposed to protect them,
>the trouble is, I am sworn to confidentiality, it is part of my job, and when I have finished working, I cannot speak about "the system" for 3 years,- (after i have left the department) -otherwise I could go to prison, >honest, thats how cover up's happen ,> confidentiality clauses<, grrrrrrrrrrr, so all i can do is train my replacement, and cause the "mp" in government office a lot of trouble, remind him he works for me & the people of Britain , he needs to sort it out, organise training, and put money into "caring for the vunerable" the Mp has had my first hand written letter , lets see does he ignore me, cause i have photo copied my letter, and will send it every week till i get the right answer, enough is enough, and next time I have to tell a young person no, when they have been told yes, the government minister for "young people and families"> is going to explain it all to them !!!!!!!!
AHHH thats better very cathartic telling you all, hope you were not too bored he he.
Well my gang of cats will be home soon, all cats dogs frogs are home safe and sound, they had a wild time, hope you did Darla, he he, photos will be coming up on Mouse's thread, Buni is going to say what they did, and post the photos through the following week, too hard to do,- said Buni when the gang are having fun, they just want to check in say hello, what they will be doing, Buni and Stripes oh and Noss will be snapping away on the camera, then will send photos too. but after they return home, so they all can laugh to>again he he.
Glad Tigger turned up, black beauty must have been happy to see you Darla, tummy growling he he
Kay,- boy was Buni wound up at the thought of all mom's & nanni having fun, NO we must all be home missing our furbabies , not sitting on a sunset beach, with wine or tropical fruit drinks, served by handsome nice waiters he he,
Buni told me to do some writing >said I would be good at fairy stories , he he . Hey I didnt know Lynn had dropped out of cat lovers, but she is very busy now, with her bok keeping work for her family, so maybe when she has more time she will come back? Lynn knows she would be welcome always , be nice for Coco to bring a friend along to get-togethers too,.
Donna how is your computer, I know you missed the new year eve fire works, I am going to see can I get some on youtube for you to view here, will be going on the word games soon, and will look at silly aliterations , i love the stories there .your's, Sandi's and everyones, as well as the >abc dress your cat, and >the ministers cat he he he >>,Sugar & Darla should read the silly aliteration stories all cats are in some of them, dogs next , babyface was in one story!!.
Sandi ,Sally Sugar hope you are all ok xxxxx
Laura I couldn't read your post, because you told what was happening in Desolation of Smaug and I haven't seen it yet, but glad you still enjoy your writing, I am a third of the way , writing my story, but mine is based on the stories handed down to me from my family, mostly from my Father, stories from- around the time of WW2, when he and my Mom were just starting their newly married life, set against all the drama of that time. Glad you & your parents are all ok xxxx
well must get on, finish reading my messages, then I want to get on the games, and Buni will be ready to use the laptop so bye for now, love hugs x wendy k x kelly cats xxxx
Betty great news, bet Joey is fine, I have a suggestion re- Joey and Ginger, well what I did - , get another Kitten, they will grow up together, will play and console each other, they will ignore Ginger, but will deferr to her as the "matriach" , Ginger will spend most of her time watching them, this will entertain her, two kittens are always company for each other, and tom cats get on with tom cats. Think about it ? you will love watching two kittens playing, it will make life easier for Ginger, get one slighty younger than Joey if you can, so exciting having kitten furbabies, ahhh I want one, >noooo , my husband is saying, >don't know who he thinks he is?? he he, let us know how Joey is , love hugs x wendy k &kelly cats xxxxx
Penny I want her, she is gorgeous so sweet and pretty , hello sweet Sally
love hugs x wendy k x& kelly cats xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Absolutley stunning Penny.
Hi, Darla. Yes, it is. She is a good mommy and loves that foal to pieces and she'll let me do anything with him because I have been around her so much and she trusts that I won't hurt him. She loves her apple flavored treats. Yes, I do. One of my favorite parts was when Tauriel was killing the Orcs that were in Bard's home and she was running up the walls to get some speed going, and then she settled in to take care of Kili like she hadn't just been killing Orcs. When Fellowship Of The Rings was in theaters, I must have seen it about ten times. I will. I had my riding lesson today and Pom Pom was not listening to me because she was still worn out from the weekend, but I'll do better next week. I also put in a little bit where Ori was doing something and I went to see what he was doing and I startled him and he almost jumped out of his skin and dropped his sketch pad and he told me to go back over and sit with Fili and Kili and his little project wasn't finished yet, and I was a little perplexed about what he was doing, but did as he told me and sat with Fili and Kili and the next morning, at breakfast, I noticed several sheets of folded paper at my place at the table and opened them and it turned out that Ori had done some sketches of me reuniting with Thorin and the rest of the team and he captured it really well, and I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do with those sketches and Ori said I could keep them and I hugged him and thanked him for the sketches and that I would treasure them always and hugged him and Dori told me that Ori fills in for the regular sketch artist when that person is doing another case and Ori has a really good memory for sketching and a way with words, and he writes very detailed but concise case notes and I ask him if he is keeping an account of this case and he says that he is, and while we are waiting for Kili to get out of surgery after he has been shot, he reads some of it to me.
Oops, sorry about the spoiler, Wendy.
Penny what a sweet face! Really both of them but I am partial to Sally's! Precious!
Darla, that Tigger must have found another source of food. I'm glad Ray saw him. It is so scary when a regular is missing. I'm also glad that Black and White is behaving. That's such good news.
Wendy anything that is important to one of us is never boring to the rest!!!! Glad you could get some off of your chest! Where's this story place with our kitties?
Laura, I'm not for sure but if you are talking about when foals are sold, if I remember right race horses were sold normally as yearlings and births were always planned for January because if they were born say the previous December, they were considered yearlings the next month. I don't know what type of horses you are talking about. I bought my Honey Bar, a quarter horse, at six months and raised her myself and it turned out just perfect for her and me.
Betty I like Wendy's idea of another kitten, but understand if it isn't feasible. My Little Joe doesn't like other cats but he has learned to get along with everyone. He still has a problem with Mouse. But Tiger, who looks like Ginger, is more submissive than Mouse and Little Joe has less animosity toward him. Everyone else gets along just fine. No fights anyway. Tiger and Wosie get along really good. They have been running and ambushing each other all morning. It is hard when one of our little furkids are at the vets. When I had to leave Mouse for his 'fixing' I couldn't wait to go pick him up. Taking them in the carrier is really heart breaking too. When they cry and try to open the door of the carrier. I hate it. But it has to be done. Ginger and Joey will work it out eventually. I know it's not easy watching it play out, but it will be okay.
Hi Gail, Sandi, Kay and Linda and everybody else! Have a good day.
Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Black Beauty was waiting for me at the door this morning. And I was on time despite there being only a tiny bit left in my book to read. I decided it would be better to be on time to feed Black Beauty and whoever else was out there. Got my porch swept yesterday but still have to do BabyFace's habitat. I do have a fierce headache that doesn't seem to want to go away. Not much going on here, just my usual.
Betty, it's hard to leave our babies like that. Sometimes it takes months for the older cats to get used to a kitten. It sure doesn't sound like you could give Joey up though. Wendy's idea of another kitten is a good one if you can do it.
Sandi, great to see you here.
Gail, thanks for the link. I'll have to check it out after I post as I forgot to do so before I started.
Wendy, as Sugar said, what's important to one of us is not boring to the others. Glad you were able to get it off your chest. Had a fabulous time with the furkids. Yes, Black Beauty was quite happy to see me yesterday and I'm sure her tummy was growling!
Penny, Sally is adorable!
Linda, great to see you here.
Laura, sorry Pom Pom wasn't more cooperative on your ride. Glad you have a good relationship with Italy Girl and can really pet her foal. Nice story.
Sugar, yes, I guess Tigger must've found another source of food b'cuz I haven't seen her. Yep, Black and White was good while he was here. Should be home with the other by now.
Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.
Well looks like ashes my foster will now be a true part of our family. The organization i've been fostering her for is sending me an adoption app to sign to make it final & legal like. She will never be shifted around again.
Penny, Sally is just the sweetest little kitten and is that your daughter? She is beautiful too and it looks like she is just in love with Sally and I can see why.
Shell, That is great news about Ashes, tell us about her.
Wendy, your life is not boring, anytime you need to talk about something stressing you out we are here to listen and maybe give some advice. So happy to hear that Keith is doing well, I am keeping him in my prayers.
Hello to everybody, I don't have much time so I must run, I hope to get on again later and chat more. Hugs to all.
They are thouroughbred horses, Sugar.
Nothing much happened here today. Mom and I couldn't go to Wiregrass Mall and Cantina Laredo like we wanted to because Aunt Chrissy had to drive back to Ohio after lunch because Uncle Marty fell at a crime scene he was clearing and dislocated his shoulder. I was none to happy about that and my day was pretty much ruined. Chrissy and her sisters came to the house for lunch. Tomorrow, Mom has an early tennis lesson, so I will be going with her, and we will try again for Latinos Y Mas, and we also have dental appointments.
Quick pop in, Sugar, Darla, Michela thankyou for your kind words, re- me going on about work, so frustrating , because it is young people we work with, and doing the wrong "care plan" is bad for everyone, but especially bad for the young person, thats why I get soooo mad, and I take "no prisoners" for goodness sake, these people are paid well, they should know enough to say , "actually I am not sure can I have a bit of perspective, on what happened" >before the case worker writes the darn plan, >that everyone works to, and from!!!!!
.-5-30am I was in work, at 9am >3 case workers were infront of me, called to a meeting, where I said 4 most important words before writting a care plan , ? ? ? (bet you all here could have guessed them) >= WHAT -WHY- WHERE- WHEN, next word , HOW, ? "IE" how are we going to help,?
The best thing is the case workers had my re-written care plan, and have 24 hrs to bring me their new version, with short shrift from me, "Next time ASK, thats why you have a team and a supervisor.!! off you go meeting over."
Then it was the Supervisors turn at 11am, me >"why are you not proof reading care plans? you have 24hrs to read the crap plans , and tell me why and how they were implemented goodbye!!
Then 2 case workers who are fantastic, at Midday I told them I was going to start training them to replace me, Next Week, they were pleased ha ha ha.
I was home at 2pm, had a lovely afternoon with the cats, and sorting cupboards chucking things out, wow my cupboards are so tidy he he he, I have loads of room . When I am in a fierce temper I have to work it off, to calm down. Luckily I have a long fuse , but those case workers were not bothered, >THEY ARE NOW he he he. I am on top of the world now, had anyone of them come to me to ask for help, I would have talked and walked them through it, but they thought no one would care grrr. here I go again !! he he he Hey I am in tomorrow 9am till 12noon, then I am off, till Monday, hurrah,> good job, I have to finish sorting now I have started sheesh!!
I think Mini has a bad tooth, so I am going to try to get her to the vet tomorrow afternoon, my vet is "24/7". if you pay of course , but I couldn't bear for her to be in pain, let you know
Shell great news your foster cat will be sooo happy not to leave you,- are you still moving?xx
Laura don't worry, I didn't read about the Hobbit> " 2 " glad you can have good contact with the foal, I don't know much about horses, but I like them, even though a very big horse once bit me, I was just leaning on a fence, he came over, so I patted him, then he bowed his head and bit my forearm that was leaning on the fence, but I was quick, and pulled my arm away quick, he had ripped my jacket, and bruised my arm, trust me he had a good hold, if I hadn't jerked my arm back quickly, gosh? those teeth were big. I forgave him, just never leaned there again. my friend Linda thought it was hilarious, cruel she is he he he
Betty how is Joey? let us know, Mini terrorises Jimi, but he has his tunnel to hide in, so theres another idea, get Joey an emergency exit (from room to room I mean he he), mind as soon as she starts Eric is there as a decoy. but Mini doesn't do it as much now, distraction stops them fighting. little darlings
Well not such a quick pop in, Oh Sugar, the thread with the silly stories is here in cat lovers, Donna's thread, called "Silly Aliterations" have a read , great laughs there , Sandi & I wrote about the cats, I wrote a story about >" Donna Eclair" and her vultures too, he he he good fun . so for now Good night to you all, love hugs x wendy k x & kelly catsxxxxxxxx
Joey's bounced right back from his day at the vet's and being neutered yesterday. I had him back home by 4:00 p.m. He was rather quiet all evening and just wanted to be held. That's really not like him at all! : ) Today he's been totally 100% back to normal. Running, jumping, climbing, playing -- and, of course, annoying Ginger! Wendy, you mentioned giving Joey an emergency exit or place to hide from Ginger. That's a great idea! Joey is absolutely fearless, though. He never runs away from her. I'm actually beginning to worry less about their being together. When Joey came to me at 6 weeks old, he was a tiny kitten. Well, Ginger is a big cat! (Yes, she's fat -- but, she is also a very large cat.) I worried a lot about her hurting him. Joey has grown so much since he came in November. Yesterday was his third trip to the vet's office. (There are 3 in the office, and all of them have seen him.) All of them have remarked, "He's going to be a BIG cat!" I guess I'm starting to think that Ginger won't be able to bully him too much longer. I'm thinking the day might be coming when HE is the one doing the hiss/growl/slap/lunge thing!
Thanks Laura, for reminding me that race horses are thoroughbreds. I love all horses so really who cares what breed they are. But still the old fashioned cowpony is my favorite for their temperment. I keep hoping one of those horses people are turning loose to fend for themselves because they can't afford to care for them any more shows up here. I know I can feed one and some how I would get their hooves and teeth cared for. After loving care that's the main thing necessary.
Betty it's good to hear Joey is back to normal! The two will work it out. It just takes time. Little Joe used to be mean to Mouse, but Mouse is 'roaring' back at him. You know, the mouse that roared! Tiger is getting along just fine with everyone. I am amazed. Just like Wosie did when she came here.
Congratulations to Ashes for finding her forever home. That's wonderful news Shell. You will never be sorry, just more kitty love in your home.
Hi Wendy, Michela and Darla. All my outside chores are done so now it is time to fix my breakfast. Cats and Chewy are all asleep with full bellies. I hope I don't hear from them until I take care of me!
Hey it's hump day! The weekend is looming ahead of us! Weather is horrible. Snow and cold and wind. But only 6 1/2 weeks until March! March can be warmer! At least maybe a little more sun. That makes a big difference even on very cold days.
Take care everyone,
Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Black Beauty met me at the door this morning. She was stretching so prettily when I opened the door. Going to clean out BabyFace's habitat today. Not much going on here, just my usual.
Shell, that is great news about Ashes! Now that's why I don't foster with MCRA and just do all the other work I do. I'd be a "foster failure" as I'd never let a foster leave my home!
Michela, great to see you here.
Laura, sorry to hear about your uncle falling and dislocating his shoulder. Hope you have a good day with your mom and can get in to Latinos Y Mas.
Wendy, you're welcome. You're so right we must take care with children. They are the future of this world. Sorry you got bit by a horse but glad you didn't let it make you dislike horses or be afraid of them. I also like horses though I don't know too much about them and have never had one of my own.
Betty, glad to hear that Joey's bounced right back to normal. That's the way Kona and Scamp were. It was like they'd never been in surgery. So, you're going to have a couple big cats.
Sugar, hope a homeless horse finds his/her way to you. That'd be so awesome for you. Have you ever thought about adopting a horse from your local SPCA? Glad you got your outside chores done. Hope you had a good breakfast.
Take care everyone and have a fantastic day.
I heard on the big fat loser show that some lady said she wasn't fat, she was fluffy... So, Ginger is fluffy... I think that is where I heard that expression....

I've also been bitten by a horse once. There were some horses at Kesmarc, the place where we volunteered before the hyperbaric chamber blew up, and Dad and I were walking one evening and I was petting the horse and she bit me on the abdomen and gave me a huge bruise and Mom was wanting me to try on some clothes before going down to Grandma's and I warned her about the bruise and showed it to her and she was shocked, but recovered.
You're welcome, Sugar.
Thanks, Darla. He was clearing an abandoned house looking for suspect and also securing the scene and making it safe for the K-9 unit to come in because there was broken glass on the floor and the stairs were icy and he missed a step and fell and he reduced his own shoulder and was up all night because the pain was so bad. He didn't take anything stronger than aspirin. We had a good day today. I sat in the pro shop because it was too chilly to be outside, and Boris, the cat that hangs out in the pro shop, came and sat in my lap for a long time. He does not usually cuddle with people, so that was a surprise. I had been working on my computer and had some leftover warmth on my jeans and he just hopped up and got settled in, and he is not a small cat. I couldn't read my Nook with him on my lap at the same time. Instead of going to Latinos, Mom and I went out to lunch with her tennis group to some gift shop type place that had a little cafe in the back and it was good, then we had our dental appointments and the dental x-rays were not fun for me because I have a bad gag reflex, but we did them, and my blood pressure was really good, 107/70.
I am not sure if I posted about Smokey dying. He died Sept 16 2013. He had started losing weight and I just thought it was the cat food. Now I wish I would have taken him to the Vet. He was born Feb 17 1997. It was sad for us all. Brian my son whom Smokey adopted as his daddy was devastated and Lighting wondered where his daddy was. Kept wanting to go outside and find him. I have his ashes next to my partner's ashes. Marty died Dec 13 2012. Hope everyone is doing well. Have a wonderful evening/night.
Sharon I'm so sorry to hear the sad news about Smokey. I can only offer my deepest sympathy to you and your son and other kitties. I share your grief.
Hi Laura and Donna. Laura I was never bitten by a horse, but I've been kicked in both the stomach and in the buttocks. The one in the buttocks lifted me up in the air and I skidded a little when I came down. That was Bourbon, a Tennessee Walker and Quarter Horse mix. He belonged to my husband. Neither really hurt. I guess cause my body went with the kick. If I had been up against something I would have felt the full force of the kick.
Darla with my income and age I doubt that the SPCA would let me adopt. If one just shows up I can manage some how to take care of him. The deer might be disappointed at the loss of their food. Also I don't have fencing. But things can be worked out if I am determined enough. I'll wait and maybe one will show up before I am too decrepid. It is just a pipe dream that I could have a horse again.
Hey Wendy, a thought about the phrase, 'just a pipe dream'. I bet that comes from smoking something a little stronger than tobacco. I never thought of it before. You make me think.
Hi Sandi and everyone else, the week end is almost here! It is supposed to be just a little warmer then.
Sharon ~ So sorry to hear about Smokey. Another precious angel now at the Rainbow Bridge....
Good morning all! Hope this finds y'all doing well and with things going great. Things are good here. Got BabyFace's habitat cleaned out yesterday. Late yesterday morning I took an extra calendar next door to see if my friend wanted it and I saw Tigger! When I commented to my friend about Tigger being back she said that Tigger had been living there! She said that Tigger got along with her cats and knew how to use the litter box but they weren't used to the kitten energy. I hope they make Tigger living there permanent. However Tigger was outside this morning as was Black Beauty. Think I may clean the bathroom today. Not much going on here, just my usual.
Donna, I've heard that expression before too though I don't know where.
Laura, sorry you got bitten by a horse. Glad it hasn't affected your relationship with them. Sorry your uncle was up with the pain. Glad you and your mom had a good day. That's great that Boris chose your lap to sit in. Yes, those x-rays can play havoc with your gag reflex. Sorry you had a problem, glad you got thru them. Your BP sure was good. Sounds like lunch was a good one.
Sharon, so sorry to hear about Smokey. Just remember all the good things aboout his life with y'all.
Sugar, oh, okay. Well, we'll just pray a horse shows up for you. I'm sure you'll do a great job taking care of one. Glad the kicks you received didn't hurt.
Betty and Sandi, great to see y'all here.
Take care and have a fantastic day.
Ashes is supposedly part scottish fold. Her owner died, the family surrendered her to the sanctuary i foster for. She lived in a foster home for the same organization, the guy was a musician and was away a lot. When Pam (organization director) got her. Ashes was very aggressive, hissed, swatted, growled, acted totally unsocialized. Pam figured ashes just didnt like her. The musician foster decided he was to busy for Ashes and gave her back to the sanctuary. She was given to me last february a few wks after Emmet was adopted. The first 3 mths she was here she just hid where ever she could find. She wouldnt let us touch her, she swatted, hissed, was very afraid of hands and no idea what toys were. But we didnt give up and just kept at it. She basically lives on top of my fridge and freezer running back and forth between the 2. She chirps from the top of the fridge at us now, shows off back and forth. She will touch noses to my hubby and i now. If u stand by the fridge she will touch your head to get your attention then chirp and run. She will dangle off the top of the fridge and turn her head upside down.
Pam didnt want to take her away from the only people who have been able to make progress with her so she said if we wanted her we can have her. She will make the trip to TN with all the rest.
Oh, she is only my 2nd foster failure. I've had to say goodbye to about 6 others. My hubby fell in love with footless, the day before i was to return him to the spca in DE to be fixed and go up for adoption. Never made it to the adoption floor, and Ashes is the 2nd foster failure.

Over here in London/England Mog/moggies doesn't just mean 'alley cat', it's an affection name for the feline loves we all adore. Okay some people say ^%%$% like "O! You've only got a moggy, I have a [breed]" Well they can just go and get lost - I'm a moggy friend and proud of it. And if that idiot gets lost, and leaves their puss behind it'll find shelter with me (and you lot as well, I'd bet)
Gail & her Animal Crew xxxxx
That's nice Gail.
Sharon, so sorry to hear about Smokey, my condolences to you and your son. Take comfort in all the wonderful memories that you have, I share your sadness as I lost my Madaline in October.
Shell, that is great that you have made all that progress with Ashes and happy that he will get to stay with you and make the trip to TN.
Donna, that is a funny saying, I guess I can tell people then that Alan is fluffy and not fat.
Darla, that is great that Tigger might have a home with your neighbour. I hope she didn't change her mind since you saw her back out this morning, does she normally let her other cats out? At least you know that she is getting food from the neighbour. That's also great that you have been seeing Black Beauty. That's great that you feel better today and that your migrane is gone, they are terrible.
Wendy, did you take Mini to the vet? How is her tooth? That's great that you are cleaning out your cupboards that reminds me that I have to do mine, they need to get cleared out.
Gail, if thats what "moggies" means well then I love moggies too.
Elena, that's a great picture. I will certainly look for the full moon tonight if it's not hidden by the clouds as we are suppose to get a bit of snow tonight.
Sugar, thank you for reminding me that the weekend is almost here. I am really looking forward to it, I have had a pretty lousy week and the weekend can't come soon enough.
Betty, that's great to hear that Joey is back to normal now. It may take some time for Ginger to get use to him, maybe when he calms down a bit she will tolerate him better, I had the same problem with Alan when he first came in and he was crazy too.
Hi Ashley, Sandi, Angela, Penny, Kay, Sally, Laura and anyone else that I may have forgot. You all have a wonderful day and I will look forward to chatting again soon.
Well, we are the end of a heatwave here. It's the last day of over 100F temperatures today. We should have a cool change tonight which everybody will be glad to see!
The cats and I are keeping cool in air conditioning, but I have been stressing over the outdoor animals. David and I have made sure the birds and outside reptiles - and any other animals who want it - have water. There are also plums on two trees in the orchard which will provide a little moisture for the animals who don't like to come near the house and of course, there is the dam on the other side of our place too.
Sugar, I keep hoping a horse turns up for you - that would be so wonderful for you and the lucky horse. I keep giving Maitland your scratch every day - I always say "And that's from Sugar" so he knows now He's really good at learning things. In the hot weather, I have to put sunscreen on his nose, otherwise it burns. At first, he didn't like it because of the way he was treated in the past, so I go very gently and I started saying, absent mindely, "Could I have your head round Matey" when he turned away. Now he knows what that means and turns his head so that I can cover his nose properly. He is so lovely!
And I wrote a reply to what you said to me last time – but it didn’t get posted for some reason. I think I am so blessed and lucky to live where I do. I do always have someone to talk to – the wild outdoor animals or parrots or David and the cats. Oh, I almost forgot, the plant in the photo you asked about is a hydrangea – I am not usually fond of them, but this one is a lovely deep blue colour when it flowers. My garden is a bit of a hodge podge as I love plants which self seed I don’t have any wisteria in my garden, but I do love it – so beautiful! So I may have to see if it will grow where I am.
Well, I am a bit tired – even with air conditioning, the hot weather tires me. Please say prayers for all those who are working outside today and for those who are effected by the heat.
Hi, Sugar. Ouch, that must have hurt! I've always had good blood pressure. I had quiche and fruit and Mom and I shared a really good brownie. One of my birthday movies, the extended version of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, arrived today and it was originally intended for my birthday, but Dad ended up giving it to me right away and I have been watching it all afternoon. One of my favorite parts is when Thorin and the rest of the company are in Rivendell and they are having dinner and Nori is complaining about the music the Elves are playing because it sounds like a funeral dirge or something and Bofur says "all right, lads, there's only one thing for it." and gets up on a pedestal and starts singing "The Man In The Moon." That whole scene was hilarious! The Elvish musicians did not like being upstaged, but there wasn't much they could do about it. We had another little cold spell today, and Italy Girl and her foal have been moved to a bigger paddock because Glorious Star is getting ready to foal and needs the room.
Sharon so sorry for your loss , so hard to say goodbye, but like I always say the ones you love never leave you, their in your heart, always, and live in your head , you know that every time you remember them, >there they are, people, pets, and that feeling you have for them, that never leaves, just at the beginning it's too painful to remember, but later it's a joy to remember, love hugs from the "kellys"xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Michela, we were lucky , we got Mini an appointment within an hour of phoning, Mick (my husband) went to get the cat carrier, too late I remembered that Mini follows him every where, and the garden door was open, Mini saw the carrier, and knew it was for her, wooooooossssshhhhh >gone. So we had to cancel, luckily the vet laughed, he said do a pincer move next time, then when Mini is in the transporter, bring her to me, Mini the Minx, he he he. Yep my cupboards are done, Oh the cats were such a help!!!!!! >not, but they made me laugh so much, I was in a much better mood he he
Sugar bet that saying does come from a "pipe smoker" he he he, I will think up some sayings for the weekend, oh and I adore quotes, >clever succinct ones, that is, love reading the daily quotes here, Some of the best ones , are John Lennon, and Oscar Wilde, well in my humble opinion that is he he he,
Gail , who upset you with "Moggy?" he he he hope your ok?
Shell glad all ok with you, and your top of the world >well top of the fridge freezer cat Ashes, so he chirps, Jimi my cat chirrups too, he is also the talker of my 4, I can have conversations with him, love it xxxx
