Our 20th Anniversary celebration really gets in full swing at our annual Country Hoe Down at Farm Sanctuary’s New York Shelter on August 5 - 6. Tour the farm, meet the animals, learn about farm animal issues and campaigns, network with like-minded people, enjoy fantastic vegan food and dance the night away during our barn dance.

Conference Activities:

Interactive Workshops
Shelter Tours and Hayrides
'Get Down at the Hoe Down' Barn Dance

The conference fee is $75.00 per person, which includes Saturday and Sunday lunch, Saturday dinner and Saturday night DJ-hosted barn dance with complimentary party drinks and snacks. Free rustic camping is available at the farm, and hotel accommodations are just a 15-minute drive from the sanctuary.

Are You Ready for the Country?

Get ready to party until the cows come home at Farm Sanctuary's New York Country Hoe Down. For this fun-filled event, guests will enjoy country hayrides, special visits with hundreds of lovable farm animals, educational presentations, mouth-watering vegan food, and a boot-stompin' barn dance.

Designed to raise awareness about current farm animal issues, campaigns and advocacy efforts, the Country Hoe Down offers practical information and advice for all animal lovers. Through engaging presentations by a diverse group of special guest speakers, all conference participants will have the chance to learn what they can do to make a difference in the lives of farm animals.

For some good old-fashioned fun at the farm, Hoe Down guests are also welcome to hop on a hayride, take a stroll around the barnyard and visit with the sanctuary critters. No friend of farm animals will want to miss out on this exciting affair!

Grab a partner and come on down to Farm Sanctuary's California Shelter for our annual Country Hoe Down. An exciting departure from the typical conference, this unique and inspirational event for animal advocates not only offers important educational opportunities, but also fun activities that allow guests to enjoy the company of our rescued farm animals, as well as each other.

Designed to raise awareness about current farm animal issues, campaigns and advocacy efforts, the Country Hoe Down offers practical information and advice for activists of all experience levels. Through engaging presentations by a diverse group of special guest speakers, all conference participants will have the chance to learn what they can do to make a difference in the lives of farm animals.

For some good old-fashioned fun at the farm, Hoe Down guests are also welcome to hop on a hayride, take a stroll around the barnyard and visit with the sanctuary critters. On Saturday evening, guests will have the chance to delight in delicious vegan food, enjoy the company and conversation of like-minded individuals and boogie at a barn dance. No friend of farm animals will want to miss out on this exciting affair!

The Country Hoe Down conference fee is $30 per person and includes a catered Saturday night dinner. Free rustic camping is available on the farm for Saturday night and reasonably-priced hotel accommodations are only a short drive from the shelter.

On Sunday, May 13, guided tours of the farm will be offered, every hour on the hour, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Our gift shop will also be open during this time.

We are leavin west virginia by 10am and hope to be there to set up camp by 4pm! I am bringing another first timer too.This will be my 10th time!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
