Working my way through the sky... February 13, 2005 6:44 AM

Hi everyone - Last night - partially on a whim, and partially because I've been meaning to for some time - I started working on an observing certificate for the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. I need to observe 55 or so items from a list of over 100, which include constellations, planets, the Moon and several deep sky objects. http://www.rasc.ca/observing/page2.html I only completed three items from my backyard (it was soooooo cold!)...52 more objects to go! Is anyone else working through a program like this, or is thinking about it? How are you finding it? What is your logbook like? (Since I just started mine, I'm still not sure what's supposed to be in it!) How often do you get the chance to observe? Is it hard to keep yourself motivated? clear skies! ~~heather  [ send green star]
