FACTS TRUTH, WISDOM,KNOWLEDGE

THIS NEW THREAD IS FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO SHARE FACTS OR SHARE UNBELIEVABLE BUT TRUE STORIES AND EXPERIANCES....THIS FIRST FEW EXAMPLES ARE:

IT JUST KEEPS GOING AND GOING AND GOING

*   bY jOAN b

It is a human-made monster. No one can escape the reach of its tentacles, which can extend across the room, but also throughout the world. It gets worse. This monster, has names such as, Brain, Crusher, Grog, and Creepers, that can shut down and reproduce quickly on entire systems. This is no science fiction or fantesy creature. It is known as computor virus.

   The effects of computor viruses range from pesky system crashes to life-threatening situations, but experts disagree on how serious they really are. In fact, information and opinions are spreading as fast as viriuses themselves.

ENCARTA ENCYCLPEDIA defines a computor virius as a " self replicating computor program that interferes with a computors hardware or operating system(the basic software that runs the computor), That doesn't sound to bad, but think about the term self-replicating. That means that it keeps making copies of itself over and over again.

**** prime example by Eugene K. computor scientist

`````````````````````````````~~~~~~~~~~~
  A teacher is working at his desk at the end of the day. He finds mistakes in the Midterm Answer Sheet. He throws it in overflowing trash can, the Key falls to floor. The teacher has a headache and goes home. The Custodian emptys the trash, sees the answer sheet, picks it up an las it back on teachers desk. But now a sticky note is stuck on the answer key, that says "  Copy two times and place copies on other teachers boxes."
The next day the teacher stays home with the flu. As a result, a sustitute is called in. The first thing the substitute sees is the answer key with the note stuck to it. So she copies it twice for each teacher and places it into their boxes. She leaves the sticky note attached, so other teachers see that  absent teacher wanted them to have  answers.
When the other teachers find the two copies of the answer key with instructions to copy them twice and distribute them, they give them to office clerk. She then makes more copies of the answer key and distributes them in other teachers boxes. By the end of the day, the school is out of paper, and the teachers boxes are stuffed with useless answer keys...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

   This model resembles what happens with a computor virus.

The difference between the example and computor is motivation. The teacher didn't mean to chos in school. The whole mess was "Cause and Effect"! On the other hand Computor Viruses are created by people who have all kinds of motives, none of them good. The effect is the corrupt amount of massive  and important information, as well as, a cost of billions of dollars in loss production every year.

   Developers of anti virus programs are gaining ground on villains, making it easier to detect a virus before it spreads and causes a path of destruction.Nonetheless, Beware what you put in your Computor----and in your trash....

?  DID YOU KNOW?

Snakes are believed to have evolved from reptiles with legs and been on earth for 95 million years. There are approximately 2700 species of snakes and some still , yet unknown or named. The Cobra, native to South Asia, Australia, and Africa, is one of these species. A king cobra can grow to 18-20 feet long, making it the longest of the poisonous snakes. The cobra has many unusual features.

Like all other snakes, cobras are carnivorous. As a cobra grows bigger on its flesh-eating diet, it outgrows its skin and sheds it 4-6 times a year. This is one of the reasons believed, a cobras eyes are lidless. Imagine a cobra trying to shed its skin if it had eyelids?  OUCH!  That's why a cobras eyes never seem to change expressions, why they appear to have an intense, fixed stare.

A cobra is born with loose folds of skin on its neck that expand into it well known hood.  A cobra spreads its hood , by spreading its neck ribs, much as you would open an umbrella. This gives the impression, of it being larger and more frightening, but does not make it more dangerous---cobras are always dangerous.

Unlike our jaws, ours opens and closes by sets of interlocking muscles, called temporal-mandibular joint. A cobras jaw bones are connected to ligaments, allowing them to disconnect. The top jaw opens almost flat against its forehead, while the bottom jaw drops almost straight down. Its this specialty that allow the cobra to swallow prey bigger than its head.

A Dentist would never have to tell a cobra to open wider, for three reasons;  a.  a cobra can spread its jaws like entry doors. b.  a cobra most likely never gets cavities.  c.  a cobra must gulp its victims whole- an experiance most dentists would would like to avoid....

Did you know the tiger is the world largest canivour. They can eat anywhere from 40-80 pounds of food in one sitting. There are only 5 of the 8 species left and numbers are dwindling fast. Their eyesight is 6 times better than any human,both day and night. They have 3-4 inch teeth and 4-5 inch claws. They weigh anyway from 150-800 pounds. When they bring down their prey they clasp their teeth around the throat sufficating it bring death quicker. Their stripes are unique according to the individual just like human finger prints.Their paws are as wide as a dinner plate! The tiger ranges are mostly in Asia with the exception of the Siberian tiger from Russia. Poaching , loss of habitat and the loss of their prey are the reasons tigers are vanishing from the earth. In the US alone tigers in captivity are twice as many; maybe even 3 times as much as in the wild. In the US there are about 15,000 in captivity. The US and New Delhi are working to try and save tigers that are still in the wild. They have stiffened penalties and set up forensic labs.

DENIALISM
2 years ago

Denialism

Denialism is the employment of rhetorical tactics to give the appearance of argument or legitimate debate, when in actuality there is none. These false arguments are used when one has few or no facts to support one's viewpoint against a scientific consensus or against overwhelming evidence to the contrary. They are effective in distracting from actual useful debate using emotionally appealing, but ultimately empty and illogical assertions.
