Weird is in the eye of the beholder January 02, 2008 9:08 AM
How weird are you? Like love & comedy and a few other things, its all in the eye of the beholder.Im sure there are folks weirder than I. Ive been told many times Im either weird or soft as a grape or was that yams??hahaha!
I happen to find sillyness makes me happy. I love watching kids be them selves and act silly. when an adult does that we are looked upon and thought to be retarded or slow or wacked or weird! well as Far as Im concerned theres no horrible thing about marching to a different drummer. only problem is you could get arrested or at least harrassed as I have for acting in the way I have at times.
what can I say..... be yourself and as long as it is legal and not immoral just do it! hahaha
Honey, are my old nikes still in the back of the closet? I need them to read this thread. what's that you say? well, I have to run alongside it to keep up! it is probably stretched tighter than a bull's butt in fly season.
Esther, This place is for anyone that considers them selves weird or has been told on at least one occasion .......your weird! If you can relate then this is your kinda place. make sure to post in all the threads, take the quizes and read about the weirdness of others. You dont have to be as weird as some of the folks, perhaps your even weirder. At least two of our members walkaround at times backwards.one member carries around a stuffed racoon in her arm pit... a few admit to having seen flying saucers and ghosts.......I personally have spent many nights working with pyrotechnics and continued to do so even though I was set on fire once.....some might call that weird.Working with chemical smoke when your asthmatic is definately weird if not entirely dumb but one member did it for yrs. or dressing up like cupid and running around half naked with wings on your back in february....is that weird??? We even have a Queen of the weirdos group!!.....Have Fun and talk to us. we'd love to learn more about you....
WELCOME ALL NEW WEIRDOS!!!!! July 11, 2006 8:09 AM
Welcome V!! I lived in Maine for years soooo... any Maine-iac! is welcome here! by the way whats wrong with walking backward except that the cops pull over and think yur drunk!LOL! its happened to me a couple times!....I dance in the rain with out an umbrella so
Just found this group via Rachael, felt immediately like a pig in the mud puddle.... I come from Finland, but now live in ME, U.S.A with my fiancee. You might see me walking backwards, or carrying a stuffed raccoon in my armpit, or giving out free reflectors to people, or waltzing in the rain with my umbrella... So do you think I'm a bit of a weirdo LOL???
Hi - thanks for the invite James - I agree James is a wonderful guy - yes, you are! O.k. wierd -I'm from Round Rock, TX. & there is a RR. I I love fermented peach juice - don't knock it til you try it. I hadn't had it for years - my Swedish family made it when I was a kid and would only let me have a tiny glass - darn! Anyway, I found it recently in Canada - and I still like it. Glad to be here - and I am one of those "tree huggers" and "soft touches" and proud of it...I'm tired of it being out of vogue to be kind and caring to others, including animals! This is why Care2 is so great! Love and hugs, Jennie B.

Welcome to all that have joined recently....This group welcomes any one who considers themselves weird or have been told on more than one occasion ... "your weird!" If this is you, a big welcome to you! I hope you will not just join but actually become a regular. the way you do that is to share in all the threads and encourage the other weird folks in here to do the same........what ever you do today, do it weird!!!
He doesn't mean any harm. He just wants to share his world with others. He is a very sweet soul and he has some very sad and lonely moments. I have known him for years beyond the Care2 network and the last thing he wants to do is cause any problems or make things difficult for others. I believe he wants to be thought of and thus he tries to think of everyone. He cares about people and has some very lonely moments. James has served our country with pride and dignity. He has no family and I think it is so important for him to have some sort of human contact. I could not imagine having to live the isolated life he has. I have adopted him as a brother and he so often is misunderstood.
As I told him long ago:
We are all children in our hearts, we all need to be loved, cared about and accepted. I have had dark nights of my soul where it howled in agony for the bitter bite that life took, I swore to God when I was in my darkest hour I would do what I could to help others, at any cost.
I want to try to help people understand James. If you notice he has a very difficult time expressing himself to others. That is why he seldom writes much. Communications is not his forte, accepting others as they are is his greatest strength. I know one thing about James, he will ALWAYS be there for his friends. He is a bit shy and prefers not to have all the attention focused on himself.
Please be gentle with him because he has a preciously tender heart.
Why is it when James invites June 28, 2006 7:59 PM
people to other groups they join, but when he invites people to mine they don't???LOL that is ok....I am just joshing!!!
I am Jacki, mad in a good way, artist always and glad to be here. I will post when I can...Have a lot of groups myself..look at my profile for proof!! I one busy old lady!!

Donald! You're right: too 'normal' people lack imagination. Which is why 'normal' doesn't have such a positive sense to me... I'm sure you'll fit right in among this international set of not-too-normal individuals!
[send green star]
Most of you seem fairly fairly a bit maybe on the so called normal side. I am an 'Indigo Adult' (for those who know what that is..if not look it up on search engines), brilliant and bi-polar..I was married in Poland in 1983, planning to be a 'husband and father' 14 months, 2 depessions and one abortion later I was a free man, homeless on the streets of New York City. What normal folks don't have too much of (at least in much of North America) is imagination, cross cultural and language abilities, old family ties and connections in Central America so by 1987 I had totally reinvented myself as a tour guide-interpreter based in civil war time Guatemala view my "G" Rated Bio here:
Although am writing a book regarding my adventures I was weird and had many weird clients actually many weird people do not seem weird to me. to society perhaps.

Well I'm here... August 23, 2005 12:09 PM
An' I'm hoping it can be a home of sorts.
Is it always so crowded among the bytes and the "all-natural earth-friendly electrons."
I'm always being told "You're funny!"
Like THAT always sound like a compliment! I mean really, sometimes I'm being serious..or.. serious-ish, still--
Then other times, it is said in a tone of meaning "weird" -- although some people will actual say the often spoken, "Your weird" or "Your so weird"
So my results in HOW WEIRD ARE YOU feel familiar!, check out my results there.

Yeah, I personally met some: fortunately they were just as weird as I am! I'm glad to know you too are part of this great nation of weirdness!!

I'm nuts and I love it. I'm a 27 year old obsessive-compulsive, neurotic, funny, kind of laid back, and easy going writer who works as a senior copywriter in an ad agency in Puerto Rico. I am a mass of contradictions. I’m sweet but hard; romantic but real; free but chained… I can be rude without saying anything at all. I’m a hopeless romantic whose heart has grown callous. I do not live by my regrets, only by the lessons learned. I pride myself on having the unique ability to find joy and beauty in the simple things. My favorite things to do are anything or nothing at all.

Hi. I live in Texas, and I just got home 1 hour ago from the greatest life-changing experience ever: a personal development seminar called CHOICES. All my life, friends and family and strangers have told me that I'm weird. At CHOICES today, I learned that I'm just GREEN! When they put all of us GREEN PEOPLE in a group together (there were about 8 of us), they made us write down a list of things that really stress us out. We laughed and laughed at everything we had in common! #1 stressor that everyone agreed on: incompetence/ignorance. Today, I decided to embrace my WEIRDO-ISM, FLAKINESS, QUIRKINESS and not get my feelings hurt anymore if someone insults my GREEN qualities! Thanks to CHOICES, I can now say: I AM WEIRD! AND PROUD OF IT! And now, I have found a place on the Internet with other people just like me! Wooo-Hooo. Wherever you are on your path through this life: young/old, male/female, college student/retired doctor, married/single, happy/depressed, Christian/agnostic, CHOICES has something for you. The seminars are held in Dallas, Vancouver, and Calgary. I highly encourage you guys to check it out. www.choicesintl.com

Weird? hmmmmmmm... July 10, 2005 8:09 AM
Maybe you wanted the "Really Sane People" group down the hall? This group is for weirdos!
Bu seriously:
And don't worry, we'll make a weirdo outta ya...(though guys, I think we have our work cut out for us with this one....)
[report anonymous abuse]
Well I don't think I'm weird, but there are some who think I am, and I won't be offended if you agree with them.
I live along the coast of New Jersey, which in and of itself, isn't terribly weird. (but see weirdnj.com) It's warm and way too humid this time of year. There are too many houses and too many people, and the shore traffic, especially in the summer, is much too heavy. ... and I live here because...?
I usually go to bed early and wake up around 4:00am, where I spend much of that time until 7:00am on the computer. I eat oatmeal five days a week, and drink my "three bag strong" morning tea out of a 24 ounce canning jar.
I enjoy all kinds of music. Even Tuvan Throat Singing. I have been known to play the Jew's Harp reasonably well. I have a large collection of vinyl LP records.
I like animals. I like (love!) nature in all it's diversity. Even the creepy crawlies. I am fascinated by the tiniest of things and spend time peering through magnifiers and microscopes at a largely unseen world. I am drawn to ponds and swamps and dig fossils out of the mud.
I like the smell of old books. I would much rather find my reading material searching through boxes of orphan books than frequenting a respectable new book store. I particularly like the prose of old nature books, especially those illustrated with engravings.
I generally like most humans. I have been frequently accused of always looking for the good in individuals.
I relish a good fantasy and a great dream. I believe in UFO's because I saw one with my Dad when I was a kid. I derive my spirituality from deeply emotional experiences observing nature. I believe in having affairs of the mind.
There's more, I'm sure, but a guy's got to maintain some sense of mystery... right?
That's interesting... I did love the tv series Homicide -- Life on the Streets. Guess it wasn't that far from reality, then... Poe's a great writer. Btw, there's thread on Poe in the Secret Library group (one of my groups). Please feel free to add to the thread, it'd be wonderful if you could!
i know tons but these are kinda weird and that's the groups theme, lol
weird fact #1
for the last 8 years running baltimore has been neck and neck with washington dc for the most violent city not in the usa but the world. that's kinda creepy actually. we have more murders in a week than england has in a year. no %#&!*%!!!
weird fact #2
edgar allan poe was born here. he also died here. every year on his birthday we have this HUGE mystery yet to be solved. Each year, on January 19th, Poe's birthday, a someone comes into the graveyard and drinks a half a bottle of cognac. This mystery figure, known as the Poe Toaster, then leaves the remaining half-bottle and three red roses, presumably one for each occupant of the grave, at the foot of the tomb.
oh one side note that's how our football team got it's name
Hello! and a Mighty Weird how ya doin??? I hang out with alot of you oddballs...
But for those of you who I havent meet yet, My name is Li, I'm 28. Married,& have 2 AWSOME kids! I am from CT. suburbs USA...oh yeah..and I'm a bad speller!...but I'm good at math
Boy, that is a tougher question to answer than you might think! I'm an Army brat and we got dragged all over the world... home was the nearest Army base!
I finished high school in Southern Illinois in the US and I have just recently moved back here. After living in Washington, DC for 20+ years, I feel like I got dropped right in the heart of redneck country. It is beautiful here and I love it, but the local people can be very bigoted and very "small town minded" sometimes. I was multi-culturally educated and I am now living in the heartland of America where culture to many equals a trip to the zoo in St. Louis!
I'm here by choice so ignore my whining! All of you are my window to the world to keep me from going "red"! LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!

Hey, Jim, I found your group! July 04, 2005 12:31 AM
I've seen Jim pop around in a couple of other groups I'm in...gglad to join the cast of weirdos here, if in fact that is truly who you are!
I was born & raised in Austin, TX (Southside, which makes a difference!), and I'll fit right into this group bcuz here's a popular line of product from my hometown:
"(keepaustinweird.com) has legitimate claim to authorship of the pithy phrase, "Keep Austin Weird", and they give away for bumper stickers for free. It's these more entrepreneurial folks, however, that manufacture and sell the t-shirts, caps, and mugs you see all around town. They're also behind the infamous "can of whoop ass" design as well as several popular and creative local bar and restaurant logo products. http://www.absolutelyaustin.com"
"The fact that someone trademarked 'Keep Austin Weird' proves my point," Allemann said through e-mail. "How can you have a commercial slogan that screams anti-corporation?"
Mayor Will Wynn recalls many moments in Austin City Council meetings when people often showed up in costumes or protested with songs or poems.
"I also like interpretative dance as an expression of opinion about zoning issues," he said in a statement.
Wynn said he thinks what makes Austin weird is the "confluence of hippie and redneck culture ... all of the really weird stuff is a manifestation of that mix."
"...things ... that make Austin "weird": Lesley, the notorious thong-wearing Austinite who has run for mayor three times."
Sorry for the long initial post...hope it was entertaining!
Oh my word...62 members in under 2 days...and on a holiday weekend!!!! This is so cool!! Welcome, all of you international weirdos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the invite. Cool ideal for a group. I live in Werido Vancouver, B.C. Canada. lol. And there is alot of Canadian Weridos living here. lol.

What do you have me doing all the time GG? Sending you weird daft things in the post? LOL! I don't think they even check the my parcels anymore...they are all to afraid to look!
Speaking of sending you to bed...*evil grins and giggles back at GG*
"LOL I have no idea who that is, but fair go....I'll put the comment with the ones about Elton John and Graeme Garden "
GG...my king...For as long as I've known you I've never seen the Elton John bit... Graeme Garen... most definitely! But Elton John....leer* Just don't see it!
It's funny you should mention that tho because one of my aunts call me Elton because of my greenies...Now all I need it is the boots and the pinball machine!! LOL!
Cissy thinks I am weird .... LOL July 02, 2005 6:38 AM
Just because I am a 'crazy cat lady' who lives in the tiny town of Sugar Hill, Georgia, USA ... and have 9 kittens and a few adult foster kats racing around here ...
NOT to mention my Maine Coon Rescue cats .....
Oh well, my "history:" Born in Westchester, New York then lived all over the East Coast as a kid = Air Force and NASA Brat; then Florids, California and Arizona
Visited Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico, French Polynesia, and Hawaii
This all happened when I was a working lady and usually Married too = translation I had funding to do these things
Now, I am just a weirdo sitting at home on the computer
Hello All... My good friend Charlotte just sent me an invite here... she said she thought of me when she saw this... I haven't a clue why you thought of me either Charlotte!
But Thanks! I think I'll have fun here! Mwahahahahahahaha! *cough* I mean......
My Looney King! You're a member as well!? Well.. I can't say I'm surprised! LOL! But I will say it's great to see you here!
WE had some errands to run and then went out to dinner. I really couldn't see that Looney S. (aka GG) was a guy wuthout my glasses. No wonder everyone got confused for a minute. I started that, not you. I'm quite sure you know the difference between a Hermoine and a Ron!!!
I just want to make sure that Looney S. is GG, and then I will immediately shift back into weird mode.
ok, good night, then... and I won't harrass you about the tea, it was just a thought. I've had them before. beware of the dinosaurs, now...
[send green star]
do that! One of the reasons I left was that the group lacked gin. The same went for Monty Python Enthusiasts, which I founded. But now I got time for weirdness...
[send green star]
Colleen... Mine is out there in that "no mans land" of hair color... too red to be called brown... too brown to be called red. But it glows very red in the sun... so I suck it up and call it red...
[send green star]
I love red hair, I should have been born a redhead but someone played a cruel joke and made me a brunette( no offense to other brunettes out there )!!! So now I just take matters into my own hand and make it red!!

hey hey! why........*sudden dramatic realisation* I'm a member of that ! why I think I shoud go in it and pour gin over the whole group mawahahahah
[report anonymous abuse]
Let's drop out of the weird dimension for a minute (just for a minute) Is GG Looney? And without my glasses, I couldn't see the general gender - so sorry, but if you find anything in the anatomy book about crazy people from New YOrk, please let me know
[send green star]
too bad... but I'm serious about the tea. I can send you some (as the former founder of the Worldly Teas group here in care2...) and you may add the gin!
[send green star]
GG knows who Harry Potter is. The problem is that Looney S. doesn't know that she herself is Ron Weasley - see what tea can do to you?
[send green star]
no no, I LOVE Ron he is my favorite character, and you know that is something ROn would say too, weird !! are you sure thats not you?
[send green star]
OH you know Harry Potter( see I told you i was a weirdo), Ron is his friend, whatch one of the movies you'll see you look just like him, really cool!!!
[send green star]
I think there's tea with... ... which flavor was that... if I can't find the gin tea (or other) what would be the alternative? You may always pour the gin in, after all... in the name of the nation, and all.
Well, it's a very ancient recipe, but from what I've been told (can't tell you all of the reasons, I've sworn to secrecy on pain of death), the purple polka dots infuse the tea with special magic properties that enable you to drink gin, send tea thru cyberspace to your friends, stalk yourself and post to interesting forums simultaneously!!!
[send green star]
Everyone, don't forget to post to the Nationalities thread...it will track what weird nationalities we weirdly represent. Please keep it to just an intro post, conversations everywhere else, so it will be easier for us to track where we all are from. Thanks!!!
[send green star]
no... but tea, sure. any day! do you prefer plain tea or flavoured? black or white, green, bagged or not... it'll be a great change to all that gin drinking...

I'm from a small, rural town in northeastern PA. No pictures to send of this place, I don't even think it's on the map. Wish I had a beautiful pic like Cissy's, but no such luck.
See I knew Watertown was the weirdo capital, it scares me a little.....
