I respond to both wierd and weird..don't we all. so no problem.
My mom's dad was from Romania, near Transylvania, and no...he did not have a yen for blood. But he left with his five brothers when he was 11..My grandma was decentant of Russian parents.
Dads mom and dad born in Russia. Dad's dad was a son of a German father. That is all I know.
I'm an adopted Swede, born and reared in Round Rock, TX (yes, there is a Round Rock!). I've been wierd -did Ispell that rt? in all 50 states and England, Mexico, Canada and France. My birth family, however, arrived on the Mayflower and there are family members buried in Harvard yard and Concord. I could be a daughter of the American Revolution but I'm way too weird - yeah, that's the rt. sp. - so that makes me an English rose (it could happen!!!!). It's my imagination, right? Anyway, thanks for the invite - bye, Jennie B.

But… who am I to talk?I am built from a wacky and weird mixture of wonderful worldy places…
My blood is varied, for dogs you might refer to this status as “mutt.” Proudly, drops of course through my veins. As you all know, this does not make mutt any specific breed…
Places I have touched with my weirdness range far and wide, having gone to eleven schools in three different countries prior to the age of 17…
Along the way, I have had a chance to watch and spread weirdness in many wonderful and wacky places, which would make one wonder, is she… weird????
Michaele! OK, I'll be sure to keep my scalp well away from you!

Born in USA, Mother Polish Refugee WW2 via El Salvador to USA, Dad sixth generation American from New England. Ex Pats from US and Canada are generally considered weird for living abroad, but today less and less so......
My Biography & Introduction11:45 AM
In order to clear up any confusion, I am an "Ex Pat", not a traveller, and reside for some 19 years in El Salvador and Guatemala, Central America as well as several months to a year in neighboring Mexico and Nicaragua.(View my Bio on url: http://www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/caguide/ ) My main contact with travellers over the years has been professional acting either as a guide-interpreter or reservations specialist, other than that other long term ex pats and natives are friends of mine. The above mentioned or other Latin American countries may not be the ideal places for YOU to study, travel or volunteer, especially if you have heard how 'dangerous' it is in parts of Central and South America. You research, you decide. At present I am assisting a Non Profit Organiztion in Nicaragua CINDURMA
"Since I began escorting visitors in Guatemala in 1986 , I've had many of you asking me to show you around Central America. Some of you have been waiting for years to go on one of our Relocation Evaluation Tours, geared towards the country or your choice in Central America . Here's your chance ...we sponsor “freedomabroad” and other programs specifically tailored for the growing number of people fed up with the “rat race” up north, whether up in North America or over in the UK or Western Europe. We've planned a fabulous trips for this coming winter, October 2005 through April 2006, we're really excited about it . This isn't standard tourist fare . As always with our tours, guided by experienced bi lingual native or resident ex pat guides, you'll see the country " from the ground up" , experiencing what it's really like to live here . You'll meet and visit with people in their homes , we'll take you grocery shopping and we'll even introduce you to the local doctor and dentist! Don't laugh , some after seeing the clean , ultra modern dental clinic , stayed on and had extensive dental work done at a fraction of what it would have cost at home . Some felt this alone was worth the price of the tour ...the savings on the dental work alone paid for the price of airfare, hotels and tours with a bit left over! So our Central American evaluation tour is more an experience than a tour....."

Description
We are constructing an 800 acre Non-Profit Eco Lodge just North of Managua. The lodge has a River and Lake front with views of the mountains past the valley. Horse back riding and hiking trails are being developed through the property. Each trail is “themed” with History or Natural information. One main lodge building and 12 smaller bungalows that are of open design. Each with it’s own fruit trees and private surroundings. The Lodge is of an Eco mind set, using environmental philosophy. All inclusive with Food, Beverages, Tours and Fishing. The trails and land area are being redeveloped to support local wild life. Each of those with camping shelters with grills etc… There will be no Hunting except with a Camera however, we will offer fishing in the River and Lake. Monkeys, Fish, and over 250 types of Bird are in this area.
Profits of this project will go to helping support three public schools in the area. At a later date construction of 80 low income homes will also take place. Our charity (CINDURMA) is registered with the Nicaragua Government in Managua. Copy of my certification is posted in the Group “Files” area. If you are not interested in donating to this project please look at some others in the Country - there are many !
If you or your group are interested in working with this project please feel free to contact us for more information and free DVD. We need: Workers to come build, people interested in developing the area schools, Financial contributions.
Check out the Maps and Photos in the "PHOTOS" and then "NON PROFIT ECO LODGE section to the left. Hey, the other pics are not bad either.
I am for hte most part German, scottish, a wee bit of british, and irish, also a lil bit of native indian.

I've heard about that when I was a kid. Anyway, you do have an interesting background too! Travelling does a lot to one's personality.

That's so interesting! Btw, finally got round to sending your card today... Sorry, I've just been so dang busy.
Btw, did you know that first Miss Universum who was Finnish () Armi Kuusela married a Philippino man called Gil Hilario. The Finns were apparently very disappointed when she disappeared off to the Philippines... They did visit with the kids, of course. Hilario has since died and Ms Kuusela lives in the US nowadays, married to an American man.
A weirdo raised in a weird family July 05, 2005 10:15 AM
Some of my friends tell me that I'm too weird for a Filipina! Anyway, I've done a little researching on my ancestors (some were Chinese, Spanish, and the earliest known were from Borneo) and a lot of them have their own eccentric personalities. A few centuries ago, it was recorded that someone in my dad's side used a saint's statue (the huge kind used in processions) in scaring off the birds eating off his crops!
My parents raised me differently. Our household is matriarchal (the same holds for my grandparents' style) and we're open-minded yet we practice some traditional values (like being in an extended home). My dad was raised in a westernized manner because my grandma was adopted by an American family. My mom was raised single-handedly by my grandma (grandpa died early)in a strict manner since she grew up in a rural town. Our household is a fusion of both styles.
Though I was born in Heidelberg, Germany my family is actually British on both sides but planted roots here in the states many, many years ago in So. Georgia. Brits with a southern drawl! I still have the pale english skin, a very "english" nose, and a true brit's sarcasm. It could be worse, at least I don't sound like a southern fried pork chop! LOL

I have been practicing the great philosophy of weirdness mostly in Portugal , first in Porto and now in Lisbon. I have also shared my weird personality with a fair amount of people in Brussels , while living there. And of course, traveling sure helps to spread the 'weird bug' to other countries, who would otherwise be quite safe...

CATHY FROM GLENDALE, ARIZONA. THIS IS THE WEIRDEST PLACE I'VE EVER BEEN. AS FAR AS NATIONALITIES I REPRESENT THAT WOULD BE BLACKFOOT AND SIOUX AND IRISH. JUST DON'T GET ME MAD OR CONFUSED. AS FAR OTHER PLACES THAT ARE WEIRD MIGHT BE THAT I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN CALIFORNIA.

Very confusing, and mine is not the one namechange. Most of the major (and not so major) names are changing here. And then there's the streetnames that is also changing... (shaking my head). How will I ever get to know it all? But I love my country, weird or not, it's beautiful.

Hello everyone. I'm as weird as can get and am from South Africa, mostly in the Gauteng district. I grew up in a gold mining town called Westonaria, and lived there for 20 years. I aslo lived in Alberton for 14 years, Mpumalanga district. (Mpumalanga is east from Gauteng and means 'where the sun comes up first') Lastly, for almost 6 years now, I'm living in Pretoria. This town's name just changed to Tswane. It's also confusing, because they talk of the greater Tswane area, and call the city area still Pretoria. But the municipality, which is also in the city, is called Tswane municipality.

I've lived in Iowa, Minnesota (twice) Montana, and now in Hawaii. There is weirdness in all those places, and I've definitely contributed to it.
My nationality is american going back to early manhattan island, my grandfather was Swedish so that is the major nationality in my genetic makeup, I guess.
I was born in my nation's capital, Ottawa Canada. I have never lived any where for an extended period except for Canada, however I have visited a few other nations: France, Monaco, Spain, England and the US. Oh, and when my luggage got sent to Africa once by mistake when it was supposed to be sent to Paris...maybe that doesn't count.

I live in PA, weird enough as it is, and also lived in London, England for two years. Besides visiting several of the states, I've traveled thru most of Europe, Scandinavia, Asia, and parts of Africa, India, Russia, Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia. I've tried to leave a bit of weirdness behind in each place.

I'm from Ely, UK . Weirdos are two-a-penny here, so I fit in very well!
Okay, so I haven't always lived here! I grew up in Abingdon , near Oxford, went to Uni at , including spreading my weirdness to Kiev, Ukraine and Chatellerault, France . After graduation, I headed for the Saarland in Germany, which is the smallest of the Bundesländer, or regions and has its own variety of dialects, which are about as different from each other as US and UK English! Having conquered their language (i.e. German), I came back to the UK, to Exeter where I learnt how to impart my weirdness to young children of an impressionable age (Mwahaha!), before getting a job in the only primary school in Outwell, which is so confused that it is actually in the county of Norfolk, but its school is run by the Cambridgeshire Education Authority! (I had nothing to do with that, honest!)

Please, fellow weirdos, nota bene there at the top of the thread that this thread is solely for nationalities -- telling us yours, not for idle chat... The weird talk is done in the thread Weird Conversation.

I'ma Finn, and live in the erotic city of Tampere (see the thread Weird welcome, I think the pic's there . I have however lived in Greater London, Britain (three times, about 6-10 months or a bit more every time, first in Essex, then in Wimbledon, then in Acton Town), and in Israel (close to Jerusalem), for one year there, and in the USA for one summer, first in Mass, then in NJ. And I've also resided on the island of Elba, Italy. I have traveled as a tourist to Italy (Lake Garda), to Madeira (Portugal), to Germany, Austria, Sweden...
Tampere is a weird city. I'm a veggie, but the city's local delicacy is a Black Sausage.
I Weirdly represent Finland, July 02, 2005 3:39 AM

I was born in Florida and spent my childhood corrupting the states of Florida, South Carolina, and Maine. I currently live in Maine (also known as the 'far corner of the Earth'), where I appear more intelligent than the actual residents, but that's only due to my ability to disguise the truth about myself...I am an alien!!! Okay, someone take the rum and cokes away from me now!!! I'm actually just an ordinary person who loves cats who just lives in Northern New England!!! Or am I? *passes rum and cokes around room* *grin*

Known to frequent bird houses and is engaged in a life-long search to find an island in the desert as I have always wanted to live on a desert island. Would settle for a dessert island, though, especially if it has 26 flavors of ice cream.
Live in Magrath, Alberta.
Above picture shows the row of apartment complexes for complex grain people in beautiful downtown Magrath. Not shown in this picture is the beautiful skiers hotel shown elsewhere on this page, either to the right, below, or above depending upon what mood the computer is in when it posts this.
As Magrath is a prairie town, the hotel people had to build their own ski slope. Unfortunately they miscalculated the average depth of snow in the area by about three storeys resulting in one hell of a ski jump at the end.
The more observant of you may notice that one of the apartments in the first picture is missing in the second picture. That is due to an urban renewal program which removed the one apartment while I was searching for the second picture.
Notice also, the famous Leaning Telephone Pole of Magrath. Magrath is also home to the famous Leaning Pole of Magrath but the wind suddenly stopped blowing momentarily and he fell over.
I'm Charlotte, I was born in England (still a British Citizen) I moved to, and currently reside in Texas, although I managed to ship my family off to New York... and I studied at Nagoya Gakuin University in Japan... all of which are much dafter for having seen me, and all the inhabitants are currently undergoing therapy to forget me....

What Nationalities Do You Weirdly Represent? July 01, 2005 2:12 PM
This is for posting who you are & what places you have made weirder by existing there. I'd like to keep this pinned, so please try to keep conversations to other threads so we can use this one as a reference.
I'm Jim, I've made NJ, USA a weirder place...and that's it.
