The Varanus Bitatawa Butaan Monitor Lizard is a close relative of the also endangered species "The Komoto Dragon".
We just discovered this Frugavorious Monitor Lizard back in 2009 and a bit too late as the people of Luzon island in the Philippeans in the Sierra Madre Forest have been hunting this lizard for many years as a source of food.
The area is so over populated with humans now that if the hunting doesn't kill them all off, the deforestation of their habitat surely will.
Please sign the petition to save this endangered species from becoming extinct!
Thanks, Anneke - hope you have a good weekend, too.
Another of my comments has been removed. I posted on here warning people not to sign a Care2 petition that was in favour of Fox hunting. I'm getting sick of this!! If Care2 wants to support people who love murdering foxes, and gag people from commenting on it, I don't want to be part of this site anymore. So much for free speech, Care2 - and so much for being against cruelty to animals! Hypocrites.
I planted my 1000th tree today through this site - I wonder now if that is genuine or if the whole site is just a con?!
This is the petition to sign if you SUPPORT fox hunting (apparently whoever removed my previous comment which warned animal lovers not to sign, does support fox hunting) http://www.thepetitionsite.com/202/883/722/stop-fox-hunting-from-being-banned/
yes, I noticed it before, but assumed that nobody would sign it, just would use the feedback option to tell this person the truth; there is no option to report a petition, as far as I can find...you're comment is still there, Donna, under this petition. Only a host can remove your comment on this page.....that's what I assume...
The second comment I made is still there, Anneke, but the first comment I posted was removed. Other perfectly innocent comments I have posted in this thread have been removed for no good reason and with no explanation.
I flagged up the petition, as I know some people go through the list of animals petitions and because they are busy, don't always have time to check the contents of all petitions, and sign by mistake.
I am really pushed for time and have a lot to do, but I make time every day to try to do what I can to help animals. If perfectly innocuous comments are removed by the host, I see no point in wasting my limited time to post comments any more.
The host doesn't even have the courtesey to inform me what they have done or why - both cowardly and bad mannered, in my opinion.
This group claims to want to defend all wild animals - then removes a post flagging a petition that support fox hunting! Totally hypocrital.
I'll continue to sign petitons - I can get the list from your share page, Anneke - but I will be removing my membership of the Defenders of Wildlife group as I do not believe the host genuinely believes in this cause if they support fox hunting!
There is only 1 host, as far as I can check it, but I cannot believe she removed your comments!? Don't know what's going on....
No, I don't know what's going on either, Anneke - I received no explanation.
As I say, I will continue to sign your petition list, but I won't be bothering with this group any more, as a so called 'Defender of Wildlife' who won't allow any criticism of fox hunting seems absurd in the extreme. There is no point wasting time posting comments when they are arbitrarily removed for no good reason.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Anneke, and thanks for all your efforts in helping animals.
It looks like I have a lot of petitions to sign. If I haven't already signed most of these from going on the animal section of The Petitionsite.
