My name is Jim, and I am new. Here is a rundown on my everyday life.
I have always wanted to help nonprofit charities raise money. There was one day when I was in a board meeting, and we were discussing a great new program we wanted to offer. All we had to do was raise the funds. That meant everybody going around and asking for money from friends, professional associates, etc. Most people do not like to do that.I can understand that.
That is when I started thinking about ways nonprofits could raise money without having to ask – ways that made people want to give support - that provided a real benefit to the giver.
The result was www.clickshopsupport.orgMore and more people are spreading the word and doing their online shopping through that site, so many of the best charities will receive funds from over 1,500 participating merchants (Staples, Amazon, eBay, Dell, etc.).Besides giving to a group of charities (they are listed on the site), most of these stores offer special savings to shoppers that shop through www.clickshopsupport.orgThe prices are the same or better than going to these stores direct.
I spend most of my time working on this program, improving the shopping experience, and getting more stores to step up to their responsibilities to support nonprofits.I have never been so happy doing anything.
I'm here to... perched on my mountain with my cats, dogs, squirrels, chickens and things that go cheep and chirp in the night... either they all like me or they just like the food...that takes up half a room. Day and night, we, together, are that enjoyable ''Everyday Life''.
Thanks for inviting me, Ted!! February 13, 2006 6:30 PM
I live in northwestern Ontario, the last left turn before you get to the Boonies (literally). We're 4 hours (or so) from Thunder Bay, and 5 from Winnipeg. Truly beautiful up here, and very remote. Nearest Walmart is an hour's drive, which doesn't bother me a bit. We're a 5 minute walk from a sandy beach and are surrounded by trees and lakes. I'm married, with a teenaged son and 2 very spoiled cats. My backyard seems to be a haven for ravens and other wildlife that doesn't get scared off by my neighbor's kids. I've had a ruffled grouse visit, a fox, tons of birds, I think they know they're safe in my yard. I get impatient with being so remote at times, but mostly wouldn't trade it for the world.
Thanks for the invite to this group. I live in Colorado, and love to rise just before the sun... so I can get a hot cup of coffee, kiss my Sweetheart Good Morning, pet our dog, and then with nice quiet rock on the radio, watch the Beautiful sunrise.
This looks like a nice spot. I'll hasve to watch for Sarvo, as I've had troublesome encounters in other groups with him... but I'll join in here to share the joys of life. Good day to all !
Eminga O. Glad you're here. This is a fun site. Ted never stops coming up with new interesting ideas. He is innovative to the max. Thanks for joining.

And so I join and bring you to an even 144 members...a deeply portentous number as any cut-rate fortune-teller could tell you...is it coincidental, too, that I would be the one to bring your group to a "gross"? I'm not usually the one to bring that quality though I can I suppose if that's what's expected of me....

Introduction August 12, 2005 11:25 PM
My name is Angel'Star (isn't that a gas?) I'm 45 years of age and currently reside in coastal South Carolina. Though it probably won't endear me to anyone I am a meat eater- give me a steak and life is grand. I have two grown children MistyMorning who is 28 and JoshuaShane who is 26 now (sheww! where did the time go?)
They are both serving in the Military in Iraq as Navy Medics (Hospital Corpsman) and Yes! I completely support the war on Terrorism. Though it saddens me to see us lose out troops daily- acts of war have what has made this country the land of the free and I am confident that often involves our going on foreign soil and kicking some serious a**
I am both a Medical Doctor and a Doctor of Oceanography and Marine Biology. I could never quite decide of which I wanted to be so I elected to be both. It keeps me busy- alot.
I am a Christian though you won't find me thumping my Bible or standing on the street corner shouting "Repent for the Time is Neigh" I fully believe in free will and people making their own informed decisions; such as I have made mine.
I am Native American by birth. Lakota Sioux in fact.
Born and for the most part raised on the Pine Ridge reservation of South Dakota. It has been a long and arduous journey to find a middle ground between Native Spirituality and American Christianity but I have managed.
I prefer not to attend traditional Christian services (church) and instead have made my own that I practice within the privacy of my home or in my backyard.
This is a choice I made after haven been looked upon poorly as a result of having more tattoos than the Law should allow. They are a result of various rights of passage and very much a part of whom I am though I can certainly understand where they would put people off somewhat.
Tia'Chi helps me to stay focused and my life in balance and I invite those that have not practiced this art to give it a go.
I have many hobbies that i have listed elsewhere upon this site so I won't recant them here.
I look forward to many happy friendships within this venue.
Okay Sarvo..I'm here! Now where are you? August 11, 2005 12:05 AM
Hello all! I'm a 35 year old child that wears many hats as I'm sure all of us do...the most favorite part of my day is usually when I get home from work (esp. if no-one is home) and I begin my daily yard work. I like being one with nature, actually, it's a need! The best part part of my week is the early morning bathroom call at 5:00 am and I realize it's saturday!

Sarvo, we must quit meeting like this, people will talk What's the best part of my day??? I'm happy just to wake up in the morning. May the Great Spirit surround and protect you. (All of us) Pale

Not so sure the first post went that I sent. However, because I feel that you are for "Real" and do not need a lawn show, I will (with a glad heart) keep in mind Everyday life. Thank you for another piece of life, may my eyes be open to see what it brings.

.. this group looks interesting. Btw- please don't send Hare Krishna's to my front garden- my neighbours don't speak to me already, and I'm not sure that would be the best way to get them to start again...
Glad to be here, and I see many that I've 'read' on here, too! I'm Melanie of the DFW area, Texas. 1 husband, 1 daughter, 1 dog. Teacher of H.S. English, but currently out of work and freaking out most of the time... Student of this world and that one... Thanks for the invite, Sarvo - besides, I didn't want my yard full of Hare Krishnas - I don't think my nieghbors would appreciate it much...

Paola invited me. Thanks Paola. July 29, 2005 8:51 AM
I was nearly tarred and feathered and ridden out of town on a rail about a half a year ago. I hung in there for an extra three months to see how it would all shake out and that proved to be a good move. I learned who my real friends were. Today my boss and associates love me. It's like I can do no wrong. I'm stayin' here in Coconut Grove til they cremate me. I love it here. I came in Feb. and it feels like I just got here yesterday. If I told you what I do every day you wouldn't believe it. Every day is like a festival and a celebration of love of God. Every day is more miraculous than the previous day. My life is simultaneously laid back and full of excitement. The level of peace is profound and the kinds of surprising and interesting things that happen every day beggars the imagination. I love everyone more and more as I learn to give all my love to God. Thanks and God Bless you.

third of all: congratulations for juggling so many things... I wish I could do as much... writings is cool too... don't hesitate to share any of them with us!
Thanks for the invite Mariannie! I am still trying to prioritize my daily schedule and also finding simple enjoyment and enlightment in life rather than just existing with a full time job and a host of too many things to do when not at work. But I make an attempt to at least concentrate on three essentials...meditation, creative writing, and a refreshing afternoon siesta!

My name is Sean and I'm from eastern Canada.....PEI.
The best part of my day? Most likely, upon awakening, is the realization that I've been given another day to enjoy, and the 30-60 minutes of quiet time that I enjoy at that time to reflect upon the previous day, and to focus on the day ahead.
My name is Robbie and I live in Birmingham, England - my invite came from Mariannie and I'm looking forward to sharing thoughts and echos of daily life with all in this group...
I'm the kinda guy who loves a challange, using such as a driving force for sustaining life to the full...
for the invite Ted... I live in Melbourne, Australia and work in the information industry. The best part of my day is waking up to face a new challenge. I find this stretches me to be the best person I can possibly be...
