anonymous Global Pledge for Wildlife August 03, 2006 5:38 PM

ACAP and WildAid are working with the governments, media, celebrities, non-profits, communities, and corporate leaders of the world to create a comprehensive and coordinated effort to stop the illegal wildlife trade for good.

Most importantly, ACAP is working to educate and engage consumers - the most crucial constituency of this campaign, since consumer demand for endangered species products is ultimately what drives the illegal trade.

Please join us in our fight to end the illegal wildlife trade by personally pledging never to knowingly purchase or consume endangered species products. We are seeking 25 million signatures worldwide by 2008 to urge our leaders to work together to preserve our world's wildlife and habitats.

There is nothing more important in this campaign than your voice - please make it heard by signing now and by helping us get the word out to your friends and local community.

Global People’s Petition for WildlifeWe, the undersigned, call upon the leaders of all the world’s nations to ensure the conservation and protection of our World's wildlife.

We call upon world leaders to act, immediately, to eliminate the illegal trade in wildlife and devote far greater efforts to ensure the protection of wilderness areas.

We most strongly and urgently urge the leaders of all developed nations to provide greatly increased financial assistance to poorer nations to aid them in their conservation priorities.

We personally pledge never to knowingly purchase or consume illegal wildlife parts or products.

We say to our leaders: if we all come together we can ensure the children of future generations can experience the beauty and benefits of our natural world – when we all come together, we can do anything.

Has anyone printed out the petition sheets and got their friends, family and neighbors to sign?

I have gotten great results!

I think this would be an ideal project for children or some type of youth group. If you are a part of such a group, you may consider having the children help gather signatures!
