WELCOME TO ALL OUR
NEW MEMBERS
FOR JOINING US!
Hello all,
My goodness, so many new members. Many thanks to Colleen and June for inviting your wonderful friends!
This group very much looks after itself due to the dedicated threads and index. However, if you find a thread getting too long, or are having trouble navigating, send me a personal message and I'll do my best to accomodate.
I have health problems which prevent me from being totally on top of things all the time, so please forgive me if I sometimes lag in response times.
Keep up the good work everyone. There is so much we each can do to bring more light and hope to this sometimes weary world.
Hello, I am Varsha, animal-lover and naturalist. Thank you, Colleen for the invite. I look forward to getting to know members in the group and make meaningful contributions.

Hi all! I'm the organizer of the Global Warming National Fax-in. September 30, 2006 9:18 AM
Hi all,
Some of you may know me through the "Please see An Inconvenient Truth, Mr.
President" petition campaign.
I'm both a medical doctor and an engineer, and never thought I would become an activist -- until NOW -- until seeing an Inconvenient Truth!
A hard copy of the petition was delivered to the
White House at the peak of the recent Washington, DC heat wave, signed by
Americans in all 50 states, and by concerned people from around the world! Over
1,800 signatures were gathered online and offline.
Can you help me with this next step in waking up Washington?

I am Greet Narsingh of Toronto Canada.
I have hours too short in my day to do all i want lately.
I just started an organisation with a real solution to save all children of starvation , and it takes all my free time, which i do not have a lot with my two year old daughter.
Hi everyone! My name is Ronda and I'm from Illinois! If I don't come on too often it's because I am so busy trying to promote awareness about Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) and trying to keep it out of the states. But i do sign petitions and forward and crosspost. I am also in college for Web Development. I am online most of the time.
I'm VEA and I've been around Care2 for about 2 years now. I've only been able to sign petitions until recently. I'm on Disability but I still do what I can.
This is my first petition (already exhausted trying to promote it all over the web and a few places offline) and no matter how it pans out, I'm glad I decided to do it.
My name is Keith Varady. I'm an Activist for Peace, Human Rights, Animal Welfare and the Environment. I would like your help by being friends and exchanging ideas.

I am new and this is what I do..... August 07, 2005 12:35 PM
We are constructing an 800 acre Non-Profit Eco Lodge just North of Managua. The lodge has a River and Lake front with views of the mountains past the valley. Horse back riding and hiking trails are being developed through the property. Each trail is “themed” with History or Natural information. One main lodge building and 12 smaller bungalows that are of open design. Each with it’s own fruit trees and private surroundings. The Lodge is of an Eco mind set, using environmental philosophy. All inclusive with Food, Beverages, Tours and Fishing. The trails and land area are being redeveloped to support local wild life. Each of those with camping shelters with grills etc… There will be no Hunting except with a Camera however, we will offer fishing in the River and Lake. Monkeys, Fish, and over 250 types of Bird are in this area.
Profits of this project will go to helping support three public schools in the area. At a later date construction of 80 low income homes will also take place. Our charity (CINDURMA) is registered with the Nicaragua Government in Managua. Copy of my certification is posted in the “Files” area. If you are not interested in donating to this project please look at some others in the Country - there are many !
If you or your group are interested in working with this project please feel free to contact me (Glenn Seavers in USA glenn_seavers@yahoo.com) for more information and free DVD. We need: Workers to come build, people interested in developing the area schools, Financial contributions.
Hello everyone! Thank you for creating this informative group!!

Thanks for putting the message up there I was thinking- WHAT did I do?
http://www.care2.com/c2c/group/Sept24WDCSept 24th in WDC Peace, Justice - this is a group I created to be a place to exchange Ideas and support one another realting to Sept 24, an idea I think is very important for US all to do something if we are concerned about Peace, Justice, Truth, our environment, education in the US, or are interested in seeing BushINc. IMPEACHED which would do a world of goood IMHO.I have links to relavant info on the site.
Hi Jacqui, Nice to see you in this group as well - The hairdo remains enviable, hon, and where did you get them eyes??
Sorry everyone, couldn't help saying hello to an OLD friend (Lucille Ball) - Jacqui is an absolute honey with a wonderful sense of humour(sorry but my spelling is English).
I'm Jessie and I'm Italian - yes,I did say Italian - well,actually I was born in Namibia and have been Italian since I came to live here with my husband over 25 years ago. I spend all my time clicking and signing petitions so don't always have time to visit the various group threads. Nonetheless, here I am tonight.
NOTE ABOUT DISAPPEARING AND MOVING POSTS August 02, 2005 5:11 AM
IF YOU GET A 'POST DELETED' MESSAGE DON'T PANIC
I'm reorganizing our posts by subject. This will make it easier to find the actions you're interested in acting on. It will also help posters to know where to put their action.
Volume of actions taken should go up as a result, which is a great thing.
As of early am Aug 2, 2005 we reached 100 members
Congratulations on all of our efforts to grow the group and increase our team efforts towards global healing!
It is nice to be here because the time for global action has arrived - here and now. Let us and all of humanity play a role in saving our home - the Earth.
Peace always - Cliff

Ignoring Reality
by: Cliff Seigneur
Melting polar ice in the Antarctic and Arctic;
alpine glaciers evaporating in Glacier National Park;
hurricanes in record numbers and severity with continental warming;
day-in, day-out, year after year of weather outside of global climate norms.
Yet, the USA has a president more concerned of war and fossil fuels;
more concerned of invading sovereign nations based on blatant lies.
A president who is far from a leader, far more an arrogant liar;
dismissing scientific evidence indicating global climatic change.
What does it mean to ignore, until another day, today's reality?
To ignore what is, by any measure, humanity’s greatest exigency -
to ignore a grave threat to humanity, to citizens of these United States -
to endanger, as warranted by the Constitution, our blessing of liberty?
What it means to you and me is simple - it is simply life on Earth;
it is breathing clean air, drinking fresh water, eating wholesome food;
it is the gift of life on this planet - a miracle called the living Earth.
It is time to save life's home - to save this planet called mother Earth.

Hi, I'm Sandra, and I'm an e-activist. I have my degree in counseling, but I'm not working because I am disabled. My top 4 issues are peace, global warming, poverty & homelessness.
Greetings everyone. Pensacola, Fl here. Wife, mother to 3 and grandmother to 24. Love life and everything that makes it 'happen'. Never met a problem I couldn't handle, they tend to make me stronger.
[send green star]
I am 45 years old and married forever and I am the mother to five children. My children are my life and they are 25, 23, 19, 12 and 6. I also have four grandchildren who are 5, 4, 3,2.
I live in the Pacific Northwest in western Washington. I recently moved back from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (don't miss those winters). I live on an island and love island life and the ocean. Where I live the skies are still blue without filth, the air is clean. We have beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
I enjoy a good mystery/drama book occassionally (usually two a week), action movie, and a good barbecue. I'm really into photography and currently unemployed due to a back injury I sustained at work.
I have recently started preparing to scrapbook, and am starting to write journals for my grandchildren to read when I am gone. I have no surviving parents or grandparents so I thought this would be something good to pass on to my grandkids.
I am involved in a couple of groups in Care2. I host "Supporting Our Military Folks At Home And Abroad", co-host "Adoption Registry/Network" and also "Thyroid (Hyper/Hypo).
Like so many multi tasking mom's, I find time for myself occassionally but I have learned to set out specific time just for me. Hot baths nightly and a good read keep me sane for now. That and my fellowship with others here in Care2.
O'kay now that ya'll are snoozing.....glad to be here, hope to learn some new things.
A warm welcome to all members. I am a mother of two in Oregon. From my profile, you can see that I belong to many groups. I am a Druid/Pagan/Welsh. I love animals, nature, the world, and will do whatever I can to help save it. I live a lonely life save for my children and pets. Noone shares in my beliefs where I live, and friends, aside to internet, I have none. I do not hunt, fish, and I refuse to acknowledge those who destroy our planet's natural resources and kill that which was given out of love. Everyday I read about species that are worse than endangered, and murdered because mankind lacks the intelligence to save them. How long will it take before we learn?

So glad you're with us Lorraine. Thank you for all the great contributions you are making to the group posts.
to all of you who have made posts, signed petitions, taken action on an issue, or invited others into the group. Let's keep working and growing together. Let's make this TEAM an action dynamo on Care2!!!
If its not too late... (only just noticed this link) I would like to introduce myself. I am Lorraine, and I`m a Brit, living in U.K.
I am extremely anti-war, and have no wish to add either Bush or Blair to my list of friends, LOL.
I am a Christian, but I dont go over-board, and I respect everyone else`s beliefs. I guess I do believe that we may be living in "the end days" looking round at how bad our world is getting at the moment, plus what scientists are telling us about the sorry state of the earth.
I love all animals, and my particular favourites are dolphins & tigers. It upsets me greatly to see so many injustices against our animal friends.
I dislike Bush for his stubborn & selfish attitude in refusing to sign the Kyoto Agreement, and although I do not condone Blair regards the war in Iraq (and some other issues like I.D.cards) I do respect him for at least trying to do what is right regards Global Warming.
I already host 2 groups online. One here on Care2 regards the London bombings, and one on Yahoo regards the proposed Brit I.D.cards.
If I dont always post very much, please understand this is only because of other committments. I moved in May, and being unable to get my child into the school I wanted, I now face home-schooling him - which is going to be time consuming. In fact it wasnt really my intention to join any groups (and I UN-joined several last week because of lack of time) However, Ive exchanged various messages with Ruth, and she seems such a nice lady, so I guess we folks must stick together on both sides of the pond, and try and bring some justice back into this world.
Everyone who is a member can invite friends to the group by clicking on the 'Invite Friends' button. A list of your friends will be displayed along with a toggle button, or the words members or pending. Those with a toggle button can be invited to the group. The others are either already members or have been invited into the group already.
The more people who use this group, the more actions are being taken on various global issues.
Let's get this TEAM growing (or going) as the case may be!
I assist and do logistics for those wishing to Study Spanish view: http://www.thepolyglots.com , Travel and expand horizons or Volunteer with Humanitarian Aid Causes in Central America.......words are mine.....
"Central America from Guatemala through Costa Rica is enriched with Spanish Language study/home stay and Humanitarian Aid/Volunteer programs from Doctors and Dentists to those who are able to paint and nail two boards together, we are able to suggest perhaps the right program to suit your needs.
If you are an adventure traveler, we are able to connect you to responsible alternative tour operators and unique lodging places, where you'll feel more at home than at home!!! Qualified native drivers and guides to get you were you're going safely while proudly showing you personally the eco, ethno and cultural wonders of either Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua or Costa Rica or two, three, four or all five nations if you have the time and inclination.
Contact me anytime of the year and please in advance of planning your departure and itinerary.

Ruth for the invite. I am so glad to be here with you and all the other members.
You stated "With less cutting, pasting, messaging and forwarding to do we can take more actions and spend more time with our friends and in our groups." Well, I am all for this too. I really feel that if we use our groups to help push our causes, more is bound to be done then by doing all this through network messageing.
Thanks again for the invite.

With less cutting, pasting, messaging and forwarding to do we can take more actions and spend more time with our friends and in our groups.
With that said, 'LET'S GIVE IT A WHIRL!'
Peace & Blessings, Ruth
