This is a good idea!
Here is prayer for all the dogs of the group and all that are in shelters and poor loose dogs that have no wheres to live.
May the lord watch down on mans best friend , and keep them well and protected from harm. And all the people who care for them be blessed from heaven above. Amen.
Thank you all for your kind words. It means a lot. This sure is a great group.
prayers and good vibes for my 'niece', my brothers Jack Russell "Zoe", she's a little sweetheart. Her story:
10/2/07 - Zoe's in the hospital (I'll pick her up tonight) being treated for inflammatory brain disease. She was diagnosed 2 weeks ago after she started having seizures. She had been doing fine on Phenobarbital and prednisone, but yesterday she started having cluster seizures. Now she's getting injections of a chemotherapy drug.
10/3/07 - I took Zoe in this morning for her dose of cytosine arabinocide and she started seizuring again, while I was stuck in traffic. So they gave her some more phenobab iv and told me to take her home. Then she started more seizures and I waited outside for a while to let her calm down. Then she had another, so I took her in and saw the neurologist.
He's going to sedate her awhile and observe her for the day. I think I'm going to have a nervous breakdown, but maybe it's because I was up until 3 this morning waiting for her to fall asleep.

MY HEART WEEPS FOR YOUR DISTRESS; MY SOUL SPEAKS IN PRAYER FOR YOUR NEED. MAY ALL OF YOUR PRAYERS BE ANSWERED SOON; AND YOUR NEEDS BE MET AS WELL. PEACE,LOVE & JOY~MARTHA
Keep our secret! lol!
Don't tell Mom! ......She has dozed off on the sofa AGAIN!! She has told us, how guilty she is neglecting her friends here, so we have snook in, to post an apology! The house move and various other things, have totally left her 'weak and wobbly'. But she told us, as long as we are walked 3 times a day, as usual, and fed, and given love and hugs - 'Hang everything else'! We are sure she doesn't mean it! But she is a 'tired soul', just now! Sure she will be 'up and running' again soon!
I'm the cheeky one, (So I am told!) - Jamie, posting this! - it is me on the right in Mom's avator - Ok! - Sweep, on the left, is the oldest, BUT, he has dozed off again! So I have to be the man of the house, and look after Mom, 'HIM' ,(Been diagnosed by the vet., as having dementia, but we don't mention it, just 'look out for him') and our 'sister' Sadie, the Sloughi! We are all rescues, so learn't, early on, we have to look out for each other!
Ooops!, can hear Mom stirring - best get back and lay down by her again!
So, for now
Luv and licks

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. Losing a pet or having a sick pet is so devastating as they are your children. The same goes for those who have a sick family member or one who has passed on. Hugs to all and God bless each of you.
10/4 - I just talked to the Doc and Zoe's been stable all day. I'm going to pick her up this evening. He sounded pretty upbeat and seemed to think that the inflammation would respond well to the treatments, once her phenobarb blood levels hit the point where her seizures stop.
Thank you all for your kind words and prayers!
As I drove home from work this morning, I saw a lost dog making its frightened way along the snowy freeway median. My heart instantly broke and I became teary, knowing what danger the dog, a beautiful German Shepherd, was in. If only I hadn't been in heavy traffic traveling 60 miles per hour, I may have been able to stop to help it. I called the SPCA in my county; I sincerely hope they were able to help it.
Here is a prayer for its safety:
Dear Lord, loving shepherd of all You have made, please surround this beautiful dog with protection. May it be safe from harm through your loving care and power. Please lead it into the path of someone who can return it to its home, or who can help it find a new, loving forever home. Thank you that every creature is important to you! Amen.
I pray for all animals and people. I pray that all the abuse and cruelty to both will soon be eradicated and we can all live and peace and harmony.
A prayer for the dog on the freeway, and all the other lost, abandoned, and homeless creatures out there.
I want to pray for all of the fur babies at all the shelters, that they will find loving forever homes, and the euithinasia will stop. I want to pray for the people that believe killing animals in shelters is ok. I pray that people realize their are other options and killing is not one of them, hopefully laws will be passed to stop this.
I think this is great that you have started this post. It is a great way to share prayers for each other's animals and for the homeless animals everywhere. I know there is not a day that goes by that I don't think about all the animals dying in "kill shelters" everywhere and it hurts me and I'm sure every one of you feel it also. I think having this dog lovers group on here helps a lot if we can all pull together and try to do at least a little for some animals. We can't do it all or save them all, but if we all who are on here would try to help a few animals each week from the posts we get requesting help on here it will make us feel a little better!! I know I've helped a little bit and even though I can't adopt any of these animals I can at least try to save some of them by calling, emailing or whatever it takes to find a rescue/shelter/home for some.
This is great and I think we ought to continue this thread! God does answer prayer and he knows all of us animal lovers are hurting from all these animals being put down every day and we also are these animal's only voice so lets keep up the good work!
Even though our furry family member are gone from this earth, they will NEVER be forgotten......they will always be in our hearts!!!!Rejoice in the happines they gave us....their licks... hugs... tail wagging... their love... their smiles...their understanding.....plus so much more we shared with them!!!!
Blessings to all!!!
Love the vid Sinikka D.. yes,, is my wish as well.. and to stop euthing and banish all gas chambers,, stop animal abuse, and the world to embrace and cherish the love a pet can give . AMEN.
I will be praying for all of you and your animals on here that God will help each and every one of you. God does love us and cares about what we care about. I also prayed last night for all the doggies that are out in the cold and have no human love or contact, people who don't have enough or anything to eat today and the rest of the new year and for animals and humans to be warm. I thank all you animal lovers here on the dog lover's forum for the great work all of you have done this year to help the hurting, abused and homeless animals. We need to make 2011 better than 2010!
Thanks to all of you for helping the voiceless in 2010.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
I have seen and read of so many sad things that happens to animals and my heart breaks.Prayers go out from my heart to all who have lost or have very sick or the oldest of dogs.I lost my disabled Sister whom I raised since 1956 in Oct. 2005.She had a little Dachshund
which we both loved dearly .About two years after my Sisters passing Trixie became ill and had a growth on her stomach. I took her to the vet and he removed it and,it was cancer and she was getting very old.The vet recommended just keeping her at home, loving her and feeding her good food. That's what I did and yes, I prayed and cried a lot.
One night she became very ill and I sat and held her, rubbing, talking soft and just loving her.She didn't die that day but we came to the decision to take her and let the vet stop the pain.I had watched my Mom die a very agonizing death from cancer Trixie didn't deserve that and I could do nothing . We were up all night building her a casket.A very nice pretty one,It had a pillow in it and was lined and a favorite toy put inside. I had to get someone else take her to be put to sleep. She was buried in our pets cemetery along with other pets. I still grieve for her..It's hard...So Very hard to give one up.That's been three years ago since her passing..I was foolish in trying to adopt another dachshund..It was a male dog and not well trained at all. I took him back to his owner. I waited a while before getting another puppy, but I had a neighbor whose female dog was pregnant. She ask if I wanted one and I said yes. When time came for delivery it was a hard one and mommy dog didn't have enough milk to feed them so from I wound up feeding and loving her since day two.She is a mini pom and my baby Lacie Bright Eyes,I added the last two names because of those big almond shaped eyes..I thank God for giving her to me, She doesn't take the place of the other one but I have fell in love with her.
Interesting article. Thanks for sharing.
PLEASE PLEASE CAN I ASK ALL OF YOU TO DO THIS & DEAR GOD MAY IT HELP
may you all rest in peace.
reign of fyre, my new pup and I will see you all on the rainbow bridge.
I just wanted to send a Rest in Peace to all the doggies that have died so far this year because of neglect, abuse or just plain ignorance on the part of human beings. I believe they are all in Heaven with our God right now and God is showing them the love that they never had here on earth!
What a great idea!
Last night I read the news that my Care2 friend Dan passed away. He mostly took in cats, but it was his dream to open a no kill shelter. Please pray that all of his beloved pets find good homes! His friend sent a mass email telling all of us. His friend said he had few friends and no family, so I worry for his pets! How sad!
