I have this compelling Question April 28, 2005 1:38 AM

1) Auto Biographys, have they died off some. Are people less interested in those these days? 2) How do you establish a pen name? I would rather use another name. Not my legal name. If my material sells, how does I get paid under a pen name? 3) What exactly is a ghostwriter? I used to know this one, but totally forgot so much over time.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Did I stump you all?  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

No stumping at all May 02, 2005 4:45 PM

What's wrong with the name your parents gave you? Write, then take credit for what you write, you deserve it. I have talked with a lot of people who want to write but fear their efforts will at best be rejected, worst rediculed. They think they can stick their head in a hole, and everything will be alright. Won't work... I made the decision many years ago that most of my work would be considered pure trash by most people. With that behind me, I have nothing to loose by just sticking it all out there. So I do!  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

hi!! May 02, 2005 4:54 PM

Fancy seeing you here! I did a search a while back on freelance writing... do a search and see what information you can find! Good luck!  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

1: Autobiographies: No, they haven't gone the way of the dinosaur -- there are more of them being published today that ever... the only problem is that, unless the person is famous, notorious, or otherwise special and well-publicized, there is little interest in reading the book. 2: Pen Names: This is usually done via contract with the publisher--you specify the name the book will be published under in your contract. 3: Ghostwriters: These are the people who aid celebrities and others in the writing of thier book -- they are contracted by the person to do the actual writing, but do not get credit for thier work -- only the paycheck the person pays (or in a few cases, a royalty on books sold)  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
