that is pretty harmless and I just heard from Sean Hannity show that it will be released next week. If that is a preview, he better have something else because there is nothing whatsoever here. It is a young Obama just speaking normally as any other college person would politely address a group. There is no activism that is radical here.
As I said, Hannity stated it has not been released. It will be interesting to see what they call radical though.
I do not see any laws being broken. What am I missing, Buck?
Nothing.
It shows nothing. I just quoted th source I got it from. I think it was Buzzfeed.
There will be a very very slim chance the rest of this video is any more damning than his relationship with people like Wright and Ayers. We elected him knowing that so i doubt this video will show anything worse.
Did I mention it will be a VERY slim chance..?
Ben Smith Releases Selectively Edited Obama Race Video
Earlier today, Buzzfeed’s Ben Smith announced on Twitter that video researcher Andrew Kaczynski had released “the mysterious Harvard/Obama/race video that the Breitbart folks have been talking about.”
The video, which Kaczynski says was “licensed from a Boston television station,” shows a young Barack Obama leading a protest at Harvard Law School on behalf of Prof. Derrick Bell, a radical academic tied to Jeremiah Wright--about whom we will be releasing significant information in the coming hours.
However, the video has been selectively edited--either by the Boston television station or by Buzzfeed itself. Over the course of the day, Breitbart.com will be releasing additional footage that has been hidden by Obama's allies in the mainstream media and academia.
Breitbart.com Editor-in-Chief Joel Pollak and Editor-at-Large Ben Shapiro will appear on The Sean Hannity Show to discuss the tape. The full tape will be released tonight on Fox News' Hannity.

Bill Maher Defends Limbaugh: ‘Liberals Looking Bad Not Accepting’ His Apology
No, folks. This isn’t an Onion headline. Comedian Bill Maher has come out in support of radio host Rush Limbaugh. The seemingly never-ending Limbaugh versus Sandra Fluke debacle hasn’t lost much steam, which seems to be the catalyst for Maher coming to the host’s defense.
On Tuesday evening, the comedian sent a tweet that read, ”Hate to defend #RushLimbaugh but he apologized, liberals looking bad not accepting. Also hate intimidation by sponsor pullout.”

This, of course, wasn’t the first time Maher weighed in on the debate. Last week, he took to his “Real Time” show on HBO to poke fun at Limbaugh, while distinguishing his own past comments about Sarah Palin from the radio host’s harsh words about Fluke.
On Friday, he said that the difference between him and Limbaugh is that he doesn’t have sponsors. Maher also joked that the first company to abandon Limbaugh was Sleep Train, a mattress business. “%#&!*% use a lot of mattresses!,” he joked.
It seems Maher’s tone — and vocal appreciation of free speech — has changed.
Dang! I put this here in the wrong thread .... could you please delete this Buck and I will correct it?
Thanks!

I am showing my age here but I demonstrated in my early college career against the war in Viet Nam, thought Eugene McCarthy was the be all and end all, was horrified at Kent state, listened to Led Zeppline and Its A Beautiful Day Stairway to Heaven, White Bird, Janis Joplin...etc etc etc. We had sit ins organized by my church. We went to weekend blue grass festivals. We did not turn out be president but damn fine nurses and doctors in the end. We drank cheap wine, smoked pot and took care of the poor of the poorest children in our emergency room. So big deal that Obama did some demonstrating. We were all young once and had our own causes. Some found their cause in fighting for our country in military service and other by demonstrating our social concerns.
All those with pristine backgrounds are either dead or fibbing. I have changed since then and so has everyone else who has grown up. Well, some have grown up...
I can't stand Hanity's stupidly arrogant demeanor. I can't last more than about 30 seconds, tops, watching Hannity.
John Cleese calls him "Hannity the Innanity."
Anyone ever see him interview Whoopi Goldberg? Funny as hell. She laughed at him every time he asked her one of his leading, "I am sooo righteously indignant" questions. He looked like he was going to explode.
But this sounds interesting, so maybe I will watch.
Also - what Mary says.
That is an excellent point. This outrage on the right is so faux.

I couldn't really focus on on the words because I was too distracted by the way he kept pulling his hand out of his pocket, shaking it around, then putting it back in his pocket, then pulling his hand out of his pocket, shaking it around, then putting it back in his pocket, then pulling his hand out of his pocket ...
You probably get the point.
I did watch Hannity and it was same as the video posted here; he said this was not done by Breitbart and that his will be coming out soon.
I don't see much here at all, they are claiming the prof. was radical like Jeremiah Wright, I will have to look him up but the media pundints should be doing their research soon.
It does look like absolutely nothing and Obama has the same demeanor he has today only more matured. He is a good speaker, I will definately complement him there.
Derek Bell is the prof. - a lot of profs. were radical and still are, but who is defining radical here, what do they call radical. This is all too loose, no basis.
http://tclblogger.blogspot.com/2012/03/some-insight-into-obamas-radical-friend.html
So far, I don't get any of this stuff, the prof. is a Black American teaching at Harvard and does research on black history and feels a lot like most Black African Americans, so what.
This is ridiculous, if this is stuff conservatives are going to use then they are going down the crazy path. There is nothing here. If you find it, please tell me.

A newly discovered video tape shows President Obama delivering a speech about Professor Derrick Bell who was the originator of the radical “Critical Race Theory” and who Obama aligned himself with while he was a student at Harvard. It was perhaps Barack Obama’s most intense immersion in the charged campus racial politics of the late 1980s and early 1990s: As President of the Harvard Law Review in the spring of his final year there, 1990, he aligned himself with Professor Derrick Bell’s dramatic protest for diversity on the faculty of Harvard Law School. That is not the tape that Breitbart was releasing. The tape on Hannity was an old tape from PBS.
Bell was very radical and supported reparations.
Hopefully, when the time is right, who ever has the tapes will have the guts to release them.
Breitbart was quite clear that what he had would bring Obama down. I believe that he had what he claimed that he had.
"According to former FBI agent Larry Grathwohl, who was assigned to infiltrate the Weather Underground’s Central Committee, the group openly advocated the implementation of a Communist dictatorship inside the United States backed up by “re-education centers” for the recalcitrant and death camps for those who still refused to submit.
Given what Breitbart said both publicly and privately in the weeks before his death, it’s apparent that the footage released today is not what Breitbart had intended to release in the context of “destroying Barack Obama”. It remains to be seen whether such footage will ever see the light of day."
The Japanese/American citizens that were taken from their homes here and held without rights deserved reparations.
Many white families could claim reparations if we went back far enough. The first slaves to the new colonies were white, Irish, Scottish and so forth. But slavery was not outlawed at that time.
Is that what you are getting at Uno?
Hopefully, when the time is right, who ever has the tapes will have the guts to release them.
Can someone who has more free time than me please get the movie poster from "The Never Ending Story" and replace the text with "The Never Ending Conspiracy?"
Make it look good, like if I had done it.
Thanks...
Not to hard to figure out Buck. Breitbart made a very public announcement that he had information that would "bring down Obama". Not just annoy his followeres. LOL.
Breitbart made the announcement of his life. And I am certain that he had what he said that he had.
So hopefully who ever has access to it will have his same convictions and live to tell.
Anyone with any self preservation instincts at all would take pause to get involved even IF his death was such a well timed conincidence. I sincerely doubt that you would step up and take his place. LOL.
Not to hard to figure out Buck. Breitbart made a very public announcement that he had information that would "bring down Obama". Not just annoy his followeres.
It's all subjective.
People make proclomations in politics all the time that end up fizzling when revealed for what they are.
But keep up the good fight for those of us who turn the blind eye to what is really happening.
I can hear the globalists knees shaking as I type...
Breitbart made the "proclamation" of his life here. He was not just some amatuer.
I guess it will subjective as long as he is dead or as long as it takes someone to release what he had.
Its funny that anyone in this day and age of information access would not know that there is a group of financial giants that are organized to control as much of the worlds wealth as possible.
It is also funny that those same people would not be familiar with the term "globalists" or "global governance" or "internationalist" and understand what their stategies are for global order.
But I guess that ignorance is bliss.
So I hear.
That is not the tape that Breitbart was releasing. The tape on Hannity was an old tape from PBS
Then why did Hannity say this was the video in question?
The bombshell was that he hugged the guy?
"Embraced" him as in he completely embraced all of his opinions and thoughts? I don't "embrace" all the opinions and thoughts of my friends. Just because he hughed the guy doesn't mean he agreed with everything this guy stood for.
When I see another mystery video that you think is out then I will adress that one.
For now, this is the video that everyone is saying Breitbart was going to show...
Yesterday I did not understand what the hail was being discussed on Hannity. I spent the better part of last night and this morning researching this thing and have made a conclusion that is my own.
First of all, Maui posted a link to an interview that took place this morning you should watch. We will all draw different conclusion from it but I was impressed by the fact that Soledad Whatsherpickle and most of the other left wing media is making light of what was presented ..... About the middle of it the lady guest speaker makes a point you all might agree with .....
This is a pretty interesting interview.
I have to say, that Pollack guy handled himself pretty well and made the others look like complete fools.
From what I gathered he is saying that some videos will be released to show how "radical" Bell was.
I go back to what I said earlier on that note: Just because Obama hugged the guy (embraced him) does not mean he carried that man's outlook into the Oval Office.
Just like that one lady said when she was talking about her being a vegitarian and animal rights activist in her college days and now she likes prime rib.
Take this video (the Obama one) for what it's worth and it isn't worth much.
It seems Breitbarts "proclamation of his life" wasn't that grand...

First of all you have to know what the theory is that is being discussed:
Appearing in US law schools in the mid- to late 1980s, Critical Race Theory inherited many of its political and intellectual commitments from civil rights scholarship and Critical Legal Studies, even as the movement departed significantly from both. Scholars like Derrick Bell applauded the focus of civil rights scholarship on race, but were deeply critical of civil rights scholars' commitment to colorblindness and their focus on intentional discrimination, rather than a broader focus on the conditions of racial inequality.[2] Likewise, scholars like Patricia Williams, Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw and Mari Matsuda embraced the focus on the reproduction of hierarchy in Critical Legal Studies, but criticized CLS scholars for failing to focus on racial domination and on the particular sources of racial oppression.[3]
Secondly you have to understand that Professor Bell is the Jeremiah Wright of the civil rights movement. Neither beleived that equality for African Americans is possible in America because the white man is never going to allow it. Both are reverse racist who never stepped out of the 1960's and certainly never subscribed to Martin Luther Kings stand that equality was and is possible in America. Instead they spent their lives looking for discrimination.
In fact if you take the time to look up Bell's history he took it to the extreme. If you agree with Bell and Wright then you agree that America is racist and that it is not possible for your country to ever move out of this kind of muck. It is their background and thinking that had a huge influence on Obama. HUGE.
The media decided what you as a nation should and should not know about Obama. The birth certificate issue was in fact first brought up by the Hilary Clinton Campaign and then buried with an offer to her of the secretary of state position. Then they turned it around on those who kept up with the questions even though it first came from their own sources.
That this gang knows how to play the Alinsky game well is evident time and time again. That this administration and your media work hand in hand is proven over and over.
Bell and Wright are two peas in a pod. Both of them racist against White America. They agreed that America could never be a colourblind society and I disagree strongly with this theory. There are racists among EVERY race. Always will be but America has grown up.
Great minds type alike eh Buck! You are the company you keep. Period. If my kid is hanging around with kids doing drugs ..... I rest my case.
It does amplify that Obama's thinking is more radical than some of us first thought. However the biggest thing that concerned me about this is how your media decided what American citizens should and should not know about Obama and his background.
Wright and Bell were friends. Good friends. There is the connection.
First of all you have to know what the theory is that is being discussed:
That has nothing to do with the real question.
The real question is if Obama really "embraced" any of Bell's philosphy. If you have a video of Obama giving a speech about that and how he supports those views instead of a video of him simply introducing this man then we have something.
This video of him introducing someone and then hugging him means nothing...
He was Obama's professor and in his speech he clearly makes the point that Bell is a mentor to him.
I have learned from raising seven kids that you do become the company that you keep. Follow the bread crumbs and everything ties together. I say again that Bell and Wright were good friends and Wright is a proven racist himself.
What this does not do is paint Obama as a racist. But it does give evidence of who influenced his thinking during very important years in his life. I do not think there is one of us here who would say that Obama sat in Wrights church for over twenty years and NEVER heard that guy spew racist crap about America? It would have been IMPOSSIBLE that he did not hear it because that is how Wright talks for cripe's sakes.
So he sat in a church listening to ugly crap spewed about the White people in America - and Bell was of the same mindset. Move on to Ayers and the rest and the story gets told.
Buck, I agree pretty much with everything you have stated above. That interview was quite interesting though.
What a bunch of rude, condescending people? That's how it came off to me. They weren't interviewing, they were completely giving their own version. In a sense creating their own news.
This post was modified from its original form on 08 Mar, 12:35
What a bunch of rude, condescending people? That's how it came off to me.
They must cringe when they watch themselves in that video.
He was Obama's professor and in his speech he clearly makes the point that Bell is a mentor to him.
He was a lot of people's professor at Harvard.
Did everyone who had studied under him walk in lockstep with him and his philosophy?
Non-story...
J. Christian Adams: Why Derrick Bell is important
This is a great post by J. Christian Adams, former Justice Department attorney who quit because of the racial policies of this administration. He writes at length to explain why Professor Derrick Bell is important to the conversation in explaining Obama’s radical policies:
BREITBART- Both Obama and Bell demanded that Harvard hire professors on the basis of race. Obama and other students rallied to Bell’s side after Bell quit teaching in an attempt to force Harvard to implement race-based hiring policies.
Other archived video tapes I have reviewed reveal that Bell espouses racial ideas deeply at odds with American values–and did so, adamantly, while at Harvard Law School.
The Obama-Bell connection is the latest in a pattern of Barack Obama’s associations with individuals who promoted a racially divisive America.
…
Professor Derrick Bell’s racial world view is now manifesting in the policies of the Obama administration, particularly in Eric Holder’s Justice Department. That’s why Obama’s radical associations in the past matter.
That’s also why Senator Obama’s appearance with New Black Panther Party President, Malik Zulu Shabazz in Selma, Alabama, matters. I detail the 2007 Selma event and photographs with Obama and Shabazz in my book, Injustice.
…
Contrary to those who might praise Derrick Bell, America is the worse off because of his ideas.
Bell did more than advocate for race-based hiring. He was perhaps the worst Johnny Appleseed of a nasty racialist legal theory called Critical Race Theory. Critical Race Theory, in a nutshell, argues that the law is a weapon of the majority whites to oppress &ldquo
eople of color.” It argues for “structural racism”–the idea that American institutions are aligned against blacks, whether the oppressor is the criminal justice system, a cabdriver without a fare, businesses, government, Domino’s Pizza, banks, or the police.
Critical Race Theory does not view the law as applying equally to all Americans, but advocates for racially unfair implementation of the law to right past injustice.
Most of the crackpot racial grievance you hear today has a philosophical foundation in Critical Race Theory. It is a counter-American, collectivist idea. Reparations, race-based hiring and excusing New Black Panther voter intimidation are some of the evil fruits of Critical Race Theory.
Bell’s history might be insignificant if he kept it to himself. But he didn’t. He used his professorship to export this worldview to students–students like Obama, who later used their teaching posts to bring Bell’s views to the next generation.
In the Obama tapes (that have been revealed so far), we find the future President calling on Harvard students to “open up your hearts, and your minds to the words of Professor Derrick Bell.” Race relations in our country are worse off because too many people followed Obama’s advice.
http://www.therightscoop.com/j-christian-adams-why-derrick-bell-is-important/
It sounds to me like Obama was destined for something special and a lot of people knew it. This would mean that he would be familiar with people like Bell.
What legislation or activity has Obama engaged in that proves he is a follower of this Critical Race Theory?
And who is defining Critical Race Theory for us?
therightscoop.com?
I have not read about this theory yet. but I am willing to bet some money that it can be interpreted in many different ways...
I don't know, I think Buck has a point Cam, that because you have common cause in some things, doesn't mean it all flows that way. Sometimes you hook up with people for the one or few common causes and not for others.
If Bell and Wright feel that way. In all honesty that is their freedom to do so. Neither one of them has played a part in my thinking. If they influence others then they do. They certainly don't influence everyone. I am not seeing a problem. Lots of people hold viewpoints I don't necessarily agree with.
"Neither beleived that equality for African Americans is possible in America because the white man is never going to allow it." Cam
So?
I can certainly see why they might think that.
"The real question is if Obama really "embraced" any of Bell's philosphy." Buck
Agreed. And I didn't see anything in the video above though I have not yet followed the links.
"He was Obama's professor and in his speech he clearly makes the point that Bell is a mentor to him."
So?
Buck- great comments.
I also note that people in college frequently do have way out ideas and then come back to the center after reality sets in.
From wikipedia (if you believe them!) but it does have citations:
Critical Race Theory (CRT) is an academic discipline focused upon the intersection of race, law and power.
Although no set of canonical doctrines or methodologies defines CRT, the movement is loosely unified by two common areas of inquiry. First, CRT has analyzed the way in which racial hierarchies are reproduced over time, and in particular, the role that law plays in this process. Second, CRT work has investigated the possibility of transforming the relationship between law and racial power, and more broadly, the possibility of achieving racial emancipation and anti-subordination.[1]
Appearing in US law schools in the mid- to late 1980s, Critical Race Theory began as a reaction to Critical Legal Studies,[2]. Scholars like Derrick Bell applauded the focus of civil rights scholarship on race, but were deeply critical of civil rights scholars' commitment to colorblindness and their focus on intentional discrimination, rather than a broader focus on the conditions of racial inequality.[3] Likewise, scholars like Patricia Williams, Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw and Mari Matsuda embraced the focus on the reproduction of hierarchy in Critical Legal Studies, but criticized CLS scholars for failing to focus on racial domination and on the particular sources of racial oppression.[4]
This story will not help the GOP win the election - and isn't that why Breitbart went to all the trouble in the first place? It's not happening.
The lead candidate is a guy who, when he's not destroying American corporations, tortures dogs and baptizes dead Jewish people into the Mormon faith. Another is a serial adulterer who intones piously to the rest of America about how they should live. Then there's the guy who thinks if a woman is brutally raped she should be denied an abortion, and should get down on her knees and thank God for the experience. He calls it turning lemons into lemonade (!). And the last candidate believes that we should hoard gold under our mattresses.
GOP = Not Winning

Obama? In the center politcally? We will definitely disagree on this.
This is about the media deciding what the American people should and should not know Angelica. It is about propaganda straight up and the media thinking you are all too stupid to think for yourself.
I will make a bold prediction here. Obama is going to be another Carter. For the sake of your country I truly hope this happens because you cannot afford another four years of him.
OK Cam, it was brought up in another group and it may take time for me to follow the links. But indeed is rated as the most conservative of the democratic president in my life time.
And actually I said go radical and themn MOVE center- not that Obama was center.
(well assuming it was addressed to me).
In any case, we have a President who pretty much stuck with the Bush plan except he did cancel the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy of the militayr spo that gays can openly serve and he did come up with the healthcare plan. (I have heard it is more cen=onservative than the one proposed by Richard Nixon- Go figure).
Holy crap. Obama/Carter the most conservative democratic President? LOL. Oh me oh my.
Obama is a racist, and yes he embraces all of the radical black theories of reparations and critical race theory. He and his wife. Racists that are willing to bring this Nation to its knees and into the slavery of a global governance.
Twisted anti colonialist, marxist, statists.
Jon Stewart talks about the video and makes some connections of his own regarding Sean Hannity.
Be advised that the part with Hannity's friend, rocker Ted Nugent, contains strong language about putting a gun in Obama's mouth.

The subject should be Derrick Bell, and how Obama supported, taught and believes the CRT of inherent racism built into our legal system and Constitution.
Now maybe people can begin to understand why our Constitution has been circumvented and marked for deletion by this President and his administration.
This is black reparations on steroids. Racism to the hilt.
And if we do not wake up to this, the end of our Constitution as we know it.
Good question Buck.
No, I was asleep at the wheel as many still are. But by the time Bush started his BS, I became more interested in what was not being said by the media.
I was a happy, busy citizen, thinking that my rights were protected by the Constitution and some of the elected officials. I had no idea how far our Republic had fallen.
The last few years of Bush is when I started to wake up from the induced mind set and started looking further.
But why attack me Buck, try attacking the topic and infromation, you may get some where then.
Obama intends to destroy our Constitution.
Exactly, he did not fool all of the people all of time, his first term.
We mangaged to stop him with half the population asleep at the wheel. They are not so much any more. There are those that question and research and are finding out the truth.
I know that it will all come as a suprise to you though.
No, I was asleep at the wheel as many still are.
Well, I am glad you finally woke up.
There are a lot of us who have been awake for a very long time. I am one of those people. I do not pretend to think I know everything our government does and for what purpose it is done.
I do, however, have a little insight to why they do what they do. some insight that your average person might not be privvy to...
