Good evening my friends. My daughter -in-law went in to have the baby at 6:00 this morning. Her blood pressure has been reading way above normal for a week now, and she is 2 weeks overdue. The doctor was afraid these 2 things combined may be dangerous for her and the baby. So they induced her and the baby still has not come. Hopefully i WILL HEAR SOMETHING SOON.  BETH  [report anonymous abuse]  [ accepted]

Hi there Nina! Good to see you. Can we start a thread for me about how to throw a shower for a baby that'll be about 2 months old? I was thinking taco bar, something simple like that. But, I am kind of clueless. Can't play the normal games cause WWW is already here! And it's going to be guys and gals invited. Sometime in March I hope! Granny Rage  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

It's been showering Babies since I've been around !  I knew about, but didn't post congrats to any of you new Grannies !!  Well Congratulations all !  Babies are the best.

My Granddaughter turned 8 on Valentine's day.

She called me to thank me for her gifts, and we exchanged e-mail Valentines.  They really get to be fun to interact with as they get older.

My grandson Cooper will be 2 at the end of May.  He was still a 1 year old baby when I saw him last.  Wonder who he'll be in June when I go for my annual trip ?

Mark and I are loving Colorado.  And each other after 18 years !!  And our wonderful dog keeps me company while he's at College every day.

That's it for now my dear friends !  Stay as well as can be !  I love you !  Peace and hugs,  Nina

Good as far as I know! I got to babysit for a couple hours last week! Then was down at my oldest son's for their shower this weekend. Found out that his mom-in-law works at and works out at the same place as Holly's Mom. Hah! I guess that's the mouth that all the trouble has been coming from. Last night Mike and Holly both called and were angry because she wasn't invited to the shower me and my daughter gave! We didn't have a thing to do with it, it was my daughter in law's friend that threw it. We were just invited! They'll learn soon who the honest people are. My son has 2 jobs now, a host in a 5 star restaraunt and starts in a nursing home as an aid soon. He just got that one. WWW is doing good, heard him making noise on the phone last night! The other grandson is coming over tonight to spend a couple days and nights with us, he has the week off of school. So that's going to be fun! I need to go get some groceries for him today! Sadly, Holly's Mom feels the need to really bad mouth me. I don't know why. And I can't understand why the young son would believe her. But, hopefully that will all change. My mouth is healing, I've lost 12-15 pounds depending on the scale I'm on and in a couple weeks can get fitted for dentures. How is everyone else? Rage  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

What a handsome guy! I have seven grandkids & they are all so wonderful.  A lot more fun than being a mom if only I were closer.  I was present for the birth of my last grandson.  He was ten pounds even & 22 inches long, EXACTLY the size of his dad, my youngest child! Each & every one is a miracle, a great thing & so welcome!  I am so glad that you have gotten into the exalted ranks of grandparent. Hugs, Moe

I'm a grandma now:

My daughter had to have a C-section but everyone is fine.  Bryan Joseph Jr. arrived at 4:22 central time 2/16/2006 and was 8 lbs 3 ozs, 21 inches long.  She was out of it and had so many people coming in that she wasn't in that great of a mood when she called last night.  She called this morning, baby is fine, brown hair and feeding well, she's still not up to par (( well, after a C-section, I would think not )) Bryan SR cried when Bryan JR was born and he's just full of pride, of course, all the times he called me yesterday, he didn't tell me all the details, but that's a man for you and of course he called me just as I was leaving work to tell me she was going to have a C-section but I got home OK.  As soon as I get a picture, will let you all see "my new baby".

WWW was in the hospital from Wed. through Sunday. I didn't know until Fri. that he was in and until today that he was out. All 2nd hand. I did go to the hospital. He had blood in his 'poop'. Could be because he can't handle the protein in the breast milk so they are giving him soy with protien. They haven't returned a call or anything since they got home. I texted him today and left a message on the cell that I will be up in the a.m. unless he calls. He hasn't so I will be there at 9. I really worry that they are isolating themselves or maybe just from Mikes family. I'll get to the bottom tomorrow. Friday I'm going to my oldest son's and there'll be a shower on Sat. for them. Something else to look forward to! Yes, I can just see you old biddies sitting and giving advice! I'm trying real hard not to. Well, it's not so hard if you can't say anything! Ah sh*t, this too shall pass. And life goes on and all will turn out good. I hope they have e-mail Dian so you'll be in touch with us when you do go. You must be just waiting! Good for you! I'm really happy you could get the time off work. to all of you! Rage

I went to the hospital and helped pack the car and WWW up to make the trip home. I think me and Grampa Guido will make a visit to see them tomorrow. Brian was so sick of seeing icu because of his Mom that he never went to see Wyatt. Now he's ready to! So, surprise! You didn't answer your cell phone, here we are! They were very anxious and happy to get the young man home today. They're scared, nervous of course but I told them nature and instincts will take over. I'm a happy camper! Don't recommend this weight loss diet to anyone though! Nerves and no teeth. I'm sick of cappuciano slim fast and chicken soup. Mashed potatoes, they're tasty, I'm going to try some scrambled eggs for supper. I have almost 3 grandsons! I'm lovin' this! to all of you. Hope to be on sometime tomorrow. Monday for sure. Hi all! I don't remember when the last time I posted was. Must have been 2 weeks ago! I'm feeling much better. Was very *raging* at the surgeon, he didn't put me to sleep. I asked him about that yesterday, he said he gave me the max allowed and I wouldn't go to sleep. What a wonderful 2 hours that was. The next day my son's g.f. went into the hospital because she was dilated to 5, 6 the next day and on Monday the 23rd Wyatt Michael James Wilde was born. 5 pounds, 11 0z. Good size, but premature. He is still in NICU but doing really great now. It was very scary at first. He was on I.V.'s, oxygen, feeding tube, in an incubator, and the last 2 days have been good. He's in a crib and nursing well. I'm not sure if he still has the feeding tube. Not alot of communication going on. I was supposed to go see them yesterday but me and my daughter were both uninvited. I am going tomorrow, invited or not. I call him Wee Willie Winkie, my Mom (who's 73 today!) calls him Wild Wyatt. Everyone needs a nickname! He should be able to come home Monday or sooner I'm just praying that the kids are mature enough to handle him. I have many fears, but have to think positive. He's got long dark hair that gets real curly when it's wet! I did get to hold him once. He's a keeper! Granny Rage  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Good Evening everyone. I can't post as much as I would like. I can only get on on the week-ends.I babysit during the week and help my hubby clean every night. But I do try to get on as much as possible. I am  having carpet put in the lr tomorrow. Then off to my beauty operator to have my hair, cut, styled and dyed. Yep, it used to be only my hairdresser knew for sure!. Now you all know. lol!!!!!Then after that it is off to the bowling alley. Hope I do better this week.

However my hubby got 9 strikes in a row. He has set the first high score in the bowling alley's history. He only needed 33 more pins and he would have had the perfect{600} score. The whole bowling alley stopped to see how he would do. He is going to try for the perfect 600 in the final weeks of bowling. Pray ladies that he does. miss all of you. Have a great week-end.  Beth

Think of me at 9:15 a.m. I have a thing about not being in control when I'm in a laying down postition like a dentist chair. Or when I'm in an airplane and have to depend on the pilot. Beth, that's my daughter, she lives in Louisiana and came out to visit in Oct but she's back home and this was a shower the "other grandmother" gave, I was invited but, phoofy, I couldn't go...  My daughter said her friend made the cake out of diapers, and see the baby clothes in the background.  She said everyone that came who bought a package of diapers and newborn clothing item got a ticket for their raffle.  She got a lot of stuff.  She e-mailed me the pictures, that's why I was able to post them.

Rage now that ain't fair at all.Only Indiana is syspose to have rain, cloudy, snow and 50* temperature all in one day. I am glad you are getting those teeth pulled. I was suspose to have all mine pulled 2 yrs. ago,but don't handle pain very well. I am supose to be wearing Dentures now.

Dian, How in the world did you manage to make that cake? Is that your daughter or daughter-in-law Pregnant? Looks like she is going to have a good size baby. Is it a boy or girl?

Betty, yes, Jenny says she needs to get a break from kids every once in awhile. She wouldn't give her job up either. She lives for that job.

Ah Beth, I hope you're feeling better! Dian I love the pics! How do you make a cake from diapers? It looks way cool! Did I tell you how my visit went? Oh and the oral surgeon. My appt. was supposed to be 2 weeks from yesterday. They called and said they had an opening next wed. I took it. Good bye teeth. I'm such a But, I'll feel better in the long run. Or so they tell me.......Dian, we're getting awful close to the due date! I had a shower after my oldest was born. No problem here with that. Hate to repeat myself if I already said this. He wanted addresses so Holly could send thank you cards out for Christmas presents she got from Mike's family. Jeez, she should have just come to the gathering! I went to their house and rang the doorbell, she didn't answer and I know she was home. I wanted to see the crib and help her get the nursery arranged. Nursery, what an old fashioned word. The baby's room! They just got a dresser so she was working on getting that filled with clothes. Okay, getting carried away again! Hope you all had a good day. Hi Beth and everyone I love your little pictures there! So cute! How's everyone today? The warm weather is still here and the was out yesterday! All day. First sun since Dec. 23rd. Unreal. And it's supposed to be another sunny day today, and another week of warm weather. My furnace is loving it! I mean Brian's checkbook! I'm off to see the young one again this morning. He actually called the other night. I was sleeping so he left a message that either said he needed or had some addresses. I hope they aren't for a shower! It's a bit late for me to get that organized by the first weekend of Feb. Besides, my oldest son offered to put some badly needed breaks in my car that weekend. I don't know what to do. I called him back twice, but to no avail. Did I mention that he said he wasn't getting any messages from me or his sister or brothers? I wonder what's going on there. Someone erasing them? Am I getting paranoid? Seems like others agree with me, my kids that is. And my Mom, who never says anything bad about anyone was the one who asked me if I thought that was what was going on. On the lighter side, Lyn and Renee told me they were going to Baby's R Us last weekend to register. I looked them up, they found 147 items! Crazy kids! They are saving up so they have enough $$ for Renee to take 3-4 months off after the little guy is born. After that he'll be in daycare somewhere, then at the Montessori school she teaches at. I'm chatty this a.m. Too much and it's only half-caff. Could you imagine me on full octane? Zoooooooom! I'll have that when I go see Mike. It's his last week at the shop and he still doesn't have a job lined up. grrrrrr. He told Lyn he'd just work at the shop until he finds something else. How is his Dad supposed to hire anyone? "well, you can start as soon as my son finds a job." I have to go slap this kid! So, how are you all this morning? Sorry about this people! I'm off to and then I'll be back. (just a warning to you!) This is our 3rd winter here and the first 2 were killers. This is welcome! I have to go get dressed, I'm so lazy, and go to the bank, make a car payment, do some grocery shopping if I feel like it and get some more bird food because they feel like it! 25 pounds a week they eat, and the deer 50 pounds of corn. The dogs and cats, not sure how many a week, but alot. The animals around here are eating better than we are! I will be back later. Hope you are all full of ideas for me. Oh, should mention they still don't answer the phone or any messages left by me or Mikes sibllings. But, he has gotten close to his oldest half sister who is bipolar and goes into rages very easily. I'm not sure when this happened, but Mike and Holly both listen to her. And she's a whack job! She was my step daughter for years, I still have essays she wrote about me and my kids. Hi there! I love the pregnant lady!! Went up to see my son last Thursday and haven't heard from him since then. He didn't give me a list of names, I didn't bring up the subject. Her Mom called my daughter one day, she told her that she is (my daughter) not the one planning the shower and she's just too busy. Really she is, and that me and her (Holly's Mom) had to plan it and to call me. Haven't heard from her either. I called her quite a while ago and told her that was the plan. Ann would help, but can't do it on her own. I'm thinking the family is missing some brains. Who would offer to give their 16 (barely 17 now) daughter and b.f. financial aid because they are too damn lazy to get out and work? Grrrr. Now you got me started! I think it's a plan to get them married and not have the DNA test. Okay, maybe I'm a bit paranoid, but he is my baby! Some young people can make things work, maybe they'll be 2 that can and I will have another grandson. I've told Mike that even if him and Holly aren't together I plan on being in the baby's life. What worries me is both of their mental health state. Not taking parenting classes, not going to the doctor, just the E.R. when she doesn't understand something, not taking any classes to prepare for the birth, etc.....Mike did tell me it's hard having someone totally dependant on him for everything. He was talking about the emotional side. She only talks to her Mom or him. He's alot like me, when he gets depressed he tends to be anti-social. He has no choice now. I don't know if he's looking for a job yet or not. Arghhhh. Well, you did ask! Sorry about the rant! Granny Rage (better quit for a while!)  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

If I offered to throw a shower and have left 6 messages for her and my son to give me a list of their friends (over the last 3 weeks) and they haven't responded, and now she isn't comfortable around me, can I not give the shower? Her Mom was going to throw one, no one could come because it was right before Christmas. P.S. I was not invited. And, Holly thinks that 2 weeks before the baby is born (feb. 15th new date?) is too late to have a shower. That's the only time I can afford it. Any comments welcome! So, I think I won't be throwing her a shower. Mike had a better time with his brothers and his nephew then he would have if she was here. He stayed all day and was his 'old self'. That was really good to see. We didn't talk about anything too heavy. It was a wonderful day! I hope everyone else was blessed that way! I did get some real thoughtful, nice gifts. But, I'm on my way out the door to play with my Grandson's new toys right now! Hope the ice has melted off the car and roads or I'll be skating there or maybe end up like Dian! Sorry I'm late, I had an accident, car went spinning on the ice, only the bumper was damaged.  Oh well, only adding another thing to the growing list of stuff that will never get done....

Bad storm coming in tonight, expecting up to 8 inches of snow so I may not be here tomorrow, just wanted everyone to know I'm at least alive and if I don't get back online, wishing everyone a great and safe weekend.

Have a new picture but no time to post it now, will try on Monday....
