I'm a male survivor of domestic violence at the hands of my now ex- girlfriend. I just don't know how to cope with the guilt that the abuse I suffered was not my fault. I still have flashbacks of the abuse..

You need to contact the domestic violence shelter/services in your area. If you suffered abuse and are not an abuser trying to get sympathy or reach the survivor, they will be able to connect you with the correct supports to help you deal with your emotions of shame, etc. Men can and do become survivors of such violence and DV services have trained staff to be able to tell the difference between survivors and perpetrators trying to get info/sympathy. If you are truly needing help, reach out to them and they will know the difference. Unfortunately, the stats fall on the side of males being the abusers so if you require legitimate services, be paitient and they will get it to you.
