~ Thank you for your invitation, Jim.

Hello to all    I am really for anything that is 'fair for all' and 'equality' is most important to me.  I cannot stand and/or sit by when someone or animals are mistreated and/or abused.

I have been walking and studying my 'spiritual side', with the assistance of two wonderful Native American friends, that I owe so very much to.    And life is really coming in ways I never imagined possible...I will be most happy to assist in any area that I possibly can.    ~ Just please let me know.

Hi Jim November 09, 2005 5:16 AM

Thank you for the invitation to join this group. I have already noticed some familiar faces here, and I am looking forward to help making some real changes. Not just on C2C but next yr. as well when we go to the polls to vote.

The Dems picked up two predominately Republican states: Virginia, and New Jersey. And in California Arnie got shot down. The voters did not approve his proposals.

Introduction November 13, 2005 12:01 AM

Well here i am, introducing myself (thing that is not my best aspect...)

.. but here it is.. just as it goes.

I love to voice out my opinion, and I love to share my views. it probaly is easier for anyone to get to know me as it goes, for it usualy is easier for them to see what I am realy made of by seeing or hearing me debate something that I believe in. I am the black sheep in the woods that is not scared to tell the wolf that he is a .. wolf..

I believe that the Earth is a being, and that it should be respected in many different ways at every costs.. (and money comes from trees. so maybe we should make it free to save this dear planet.) I want to denounce things that deserves to be. I want to learn and teach the ways to better ways of living in harmony. I want equality for women , children and elders.. I want equality to be recognised for animals as well. A life is a life is a life is a life. equality means equal, so that includes men as well.. all together together.

I do NOT believe in stem cell, and I think that we are very greedy and that a lot of things should change and people should share, learn and act together for this world to be spared of what it seems to be victim of so far..

I am a creative mind that refuses to be shut and opressed. I love to write, and express myself in many diferent ways. I believe that our bodies are only tools that we should learn to use, and let go once time as come to do so.. Death IS part of life. And what if our body was only a shell from which we must learn how to break through and get into another light. (and I don't mean to kill our selves, I'm talking about acceptance of death, I am talking about sharing this world with others, about the whole becoming conscious about the whole.. about allowing other souls to connect with this world, about leaving food for the next generations.)

I know that not everyone understands where I am coming from, that i do not understand where everyone is coming from, and that the only thing that really matter is respect.. And I think that respect should start with the respect of the planet on which we live, and of the people that lives on it.. that includes the people that is so often forgotten and yet starving and working for the "wealthy" people that WANT their coffe at all cost.

I do not drink coffe.

enough for now, have to keep some for issues that need to be deffended and/or debated.

If you want to know more, it is YOUR turn to make your part. Go look at my profile or/and my groups, ask see feel, be active about it.

I'm available to work with groups that actually have a plan of action.  When I first moved to Seattle I went to a Seattle Democrats meeting and met some very nice, genteel wet-noodle democrats that spent the hour discussing a goddamn website that no one but like minded people are going to visit.

I want to do something.  I am not wasting my time on ineffectual and irrelevent activities.  So if you have a plan of action or something interesting where my involvement would be desirable, please contact me.  I live in Edmonds but am willing to travel about NW WA.

newbie to it all November 25, 2005 9:26 AM

Thanks to Andrew for the invite. I am here to learn.  I am a amatuer artist/ Ceramics (not production work) artist. My dream is to seek out people in the same field to come together for a not strictly for profit artist co-op. I say not strictly for profit due to the fact that ceramic arts require expensive equipment and if it is not done right, more money will be going out then coming in. I do require some money in my pocket to do this. I know it is a big thing and could take a lot of time.  I am blessed to be able to take ceramics classes for no tuition at the Community College where my hubby works, but there is limited space in firing and not every fire is without accidents.

I live in Forest Grove, Oregon within a half hour drive to the outskirts of Portland.

To get a group together would be a awsome task. Equipment is so expensive,as is maintenence and utilities, but it is an art that is in my 50 year old blood and I can't stop it.

Any suggestions? Oregonians???out there?

Cheers,

Jacki

Author working to make a difference December 14, 2005 8:29 PM

Happy Holidays friends and thank you for inviting me to join this group.  My husband and I founded a small company called Giggling Gorilla Productions that creates media for wildlife conservation.  Each project we create is designed to raise awareness, help children and raise actual dollars for a conservation organization.

Our first project is a wonderful children’s picture book that teaches kids about wildlife and conservation in a fun, guessing book format.  Who Goes With That Nose?  is geared for early elementary school self-readers and even younger kids being read to.  The illustrations are beautiful and kids learn from and love it.

We are offering it as a holiday fundraiser for  Care-2 member Angel Wolf and Wolf Mountain Sanctuary.  For every book sold ($9.95) we will donate a portion of the proceeds directly to Angel and her wolves.  It is the perfect way to finish your holiday shopping, brighten the life of a child and support the wolves at the same time.

We have already collected donations of 100 books to give to Children's hospitals in California.  If you are interested please log on to www.GigglingGorillaProductions.com and purchase through a secure server.  You will be enriching the life of a child and making a difference for wildlife at the same time!

Thank you for allowing me to share here.  We greatly appreciate your support of children who need special care, our conservation projects and Wolf Mountain Sanctuary.

With love and gratitude,

Dona

Thanks Dawn, I see that the last best hope for planet earth is assembling in Care2. Remarkable that such an amazing group of people who are predominantly vegetarian and mainly see the good sense of reincarnation should all be gathering together in this special portion of cyberspace. It's a very special group of people. I think in some way they may become instrumental in saving the planet from what might otherwise be dire consequences.

Introduction December 28, 2005 11:16 PM

I'm Faith originally from the rolling hills of Virginia now displaced to the plains of Oklahoma from whence I will end the Federal and State Government's commission of the crime of Human Trafficing if it's the last thing I do in this life.

That's right, OUR tax money is paying for the abduction and torture of US Citizens, both young and old, and it is now a multi-billion dollar industry practicing it's business in our own backyards.

This is a business that attacks families, single-parents, old folks, the disabled, the mentally ill, anyone that the State Governments decide can be used to gain federal funding, not for the care and feeding of the abducted, but to keep the wheel turning and paychecks coming in for those in it's adminstration.

Therefore, this single issue must be attacked either from many different angles or under the one, "new" catch-all label of "Human Trafficing". It's not a crime just for foreigners to abuse foreigners anymore. It's a crime for our own "officials" to commit.

Hi and I'm honoured to have been invited to this important group. I've been active in the animal rights movement for many years and for the last ten have concentrated more on the rehabilitation of orphaned primates back into the wild. The last few years have found me giving public talks, writing etc to bring about a harmonious co-existence between humans, monkeys and baboons sharing a territory which of course extends to our human relationship with all in our natural environment. I'm blessed to live this kind of existence myself in an indigenous forest with many wild inhabitants. My art has centred around the parallels between racism, sexism and speciesism - the country I was born into, has taught us well how inextricably linked these aspects are. Looking forward to seeing more here  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

hello January 18, 2006 11:30 AM

hello yall,

Finally checking out this group a bit....
luckily it's Jim's b-day this month so I clicked over to this group from
his page.

I'm Rob, in hickville, about 3 hours from New Orleans in the infamous state of right wing numbness &
non-education, etc : Louisiana.

I'm an ex animator/3d digital artist who's into web activism
for social justice/human rights,
am a member of Amnesty Int'l, I am very much
into the Anti-Slave-Trade battles, checkout
http://iabolish.org

---I also try to keep up with TRADE battles: all those foolish WTO, NAFTA, CAFTA, etc. which
just keep the rich richer & poor poorer in work/international relations, etc.

Hope I can actually spend TIME here in this group
but mental/physical health issues &
work toward grad school future/goals
are keeping me busy.

Also, please checkout a human rights/spiritual group I'm in::
http://www.spiritualprogressives.org/
&
http://www.tikkuninstitute.org/

keep up the good work,

I passed along the call for the group's need for web/navigation
work to a web pro pal of mine today

if ur bored,
u can see some of my spiritual & political themes in my

artwork at my Care2 art album, any feedback appreciated.

Hi my name is Tuesday Gutierrez, I´m the writer and editor of a web blog called www.lasolidaridad.com. Its an offshoot of a publication of some Filipino heroes to seek representation in Spain a century ago, but the new La Solidaridad has evolved into a platform for global understanding, cultural diversity and social responsibility. I am inviting everyone writers/artists etc with social conscience to send articles/thoughts on my site =)  [report anonymous abuse]  [ accepted]

 May 27, 2006 5:41 PM

hello Tuesday & everyone,,,

Glad to be back....
I just wrote a letter at your BEAUTIFUL website
" Lasolidaridad ",

it's a GREAT website....not  boring & cluttered
with over-bearing writing & junk like most other activist webpages,

so
congratulations to you

btw, what I wrote about is
that I'm having to narrow down my activism to
just a few KEY issues

because I don't have time for the 500 or so activist groups
and websites & discussions that have taken up all my time in the last year or 2.

Thus, I'm focusing on 2 main areas::

1) Slave trade  ((if u stopped the Muslim slave traders from
abusing AFrican women & trading them,
you would instead empower these
African women
so that they could help their societies!!!!))

2) Economic TRADE itself ---
like TRADE agreements being SECRETLY,
and UNDEMOCRATICALLY decided by hidden men behind closed dorrs, in
the WTO/IMF, etc, as
they are making TRADE
agreements that KEEP most of the world
in poverty

while THESE few WTO
men & their political friends
(LIKE BU$HCo) get to reap the power &
benefits
of a world in which they control the way that nearly
ALL money/goods are traded.

IT's simple::

whoever controls how ALL
money/food/goods are TRADED,
will be the ones
who rule
ALL international politics.

Don't take my word for it----

just start reading about
NAFTA, AFTA, CAFTAA and similar trade deals

that keeps the BILLIONS of world population
in the same cycle of poverty year after year.

And thus
the ones who control such TRADE have
ALL the power.

I cannot BELIEVE
that most people do not realize this-----

imagine this----put some cheeze in a box of starving animals & notice
what happens------the guy with the cheese controls them,
it's that simple.

Please wake up to this &
TELL everyone you know.....

ALL environmental and poverty issues flow from this problem
BECAUSE this is how the
MONEY/food/goods controls who
has the cheeze & who is the slave.

good luck---

because very few people
understand that in a world of

starvation, pollution & instability,

it is VERY easy for the guys
with all the money/TRADE/food/military
to step-in & say
"WE have the answers".

peace thru VIGILANCE & knowlege,
rob

anonymous Hi I am Dr. Mel August 19, 2006 12:38 AM

Hi Relations,

I'm Dr. Mel.  I have done some good work, but usually never get paid for it. ANyhow, I joined to show some shocking new findings in the history of Yosemite NP. I first became aware of the problems when I edited an archaeology report. I found Paiute cultural continuity although the history appeared to have erased us from our ancestral home.  ANyhow, check out thses links, Thank You, may you have peace - health, and prosperity,

Dr. Mel

anonymous Hello! September 17, 2006 12:23 AM

Hey there! My name is Britney, I'm 20 years and and live in Houston, TX, US. Actually I just moved here, so I haven't quite found the activists in my area yet! As for areas of interest, well my resume covers just about everything, but I'm trying to narrow it down. Right now I'm somewhere inbetween conservation and preservation of water and general environmental activities (cleaning, awareness, etc).

Hi April 21, 2007 4:17 PM

I haven't been active with Care 2 very long but am trying to network with more activists. Especially any in the West Virginia panhandle...I want to work on our local air quality.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

My name is Jim, and I have always been active in education, healthcare, animal rights, human rights, conservation, and the arts.  I direct my activism to supplying resources to the groups that are on the front lines in these fields every day.  [report anonymous abuse]  [ accepted]

"Catting" the process of being a cat November 01, 2008 5:09 PM

No, nothing to do with cats at all...... sorry, I'm silly that way...
I am looking for a living that includes the greater good for mankind as well as the animal kingdom. I AM LOOKING FOR REAL PURPOSE IN THIS LIFE. Can you help me? I must be able to pay my bills but I want to leave my footprint upon this earth, in a good way....
