My wife went through that, so I know how you feel.
And trigger thumb/finger tends to occur more frequently with those that already have some form of degeneration (osteo-arthritis, etc)
My surgery was simply for a "trigger thumb" (Painful triggering or locking of the thumb is a common malady that can significantly interfere with hand function and the performance of routine activities. Triggering of the thumb occurs when focal degenerative changes within the flexor pollicis longus (FPL) tendon lead to a localized swelling that limits tendon excursion within the tendon sheath.)
And it was painful, and incapacitated my left hand for awhile. The surgery is considered minor though, and took place in about about half an hour (took more time to "check in" to the surgery center)
I am so glad to hear your hand is healing well Mike. My best friend wasn't so lucky. Last Saturday she was rolling he tarp (she is a rock hauler in TX). She and the 2 guys she was running with were on the side of the road. She was the 3rd truck with the other 2 in front of her. The reason they actually stopped is because the 1st guy had to shut the tailgate on his dump truck, and she decided to roll her tarp while they were stoped . A car came across 2 lanes and hit hern (the driver fell asleep!). She was between the car and the axles of the truck and as a result her leg was severely damaged. She was in the hospital for a week and the Doctors told her there was no way of saving it, they did all they could do but the skin was dying, the bone wasn't healing and the blood vessels they took out of her Right leg and put in her damaged leg were not wanting to work or attach properly. Yesterday around noon she went into surgery and they amputated her left leg at the knee. She is doing very well and has a positive attitude though. I talked to her this morning and she has vastly improved!!! She kept saying "it could have been much worse" and if you think about it........she is absolutely right! She is going to get fitted for a prosteisis (spelling?) and will be just fine! It sure was a rough week for me, she is my best friend in the whole world but I know it was a much rougher week for her!

I am so sorry to hear about Romeo. I am glad you found some new companions though. It is always a good feeling to adopt a pet from a shelter. My daughter recently adopted a Cavie and it was in very bad shape. The owner was unable to care for it because she was in a bad car accident. The poor thing had very badly infected feet and the hair around it's bottom was a mess as well if you know what I am trying to say without saying it. Ollie's feet were so swollen they were about the size of a dime, which is enormus considering the "normal" size of their feet! He also had really bad sores on them too. Most of the probelms were due to the fact nobody was really caring for him. I am glad to report he has made a full recovery and is doing well. I have no idea what he looks like as far as what color he is but I have heard him in the background while I was on the phone with my daughter and he sounds sooooooooo cute! I am just glad she had the chance to rescue him. He was a "birthday suprise" for my grand son. My daughter is like me, she hates to see an animal of ANY KIND suffer!
Introducing: Elvis n Shamrock

And here is Shadow, showing off his two new friends, Shamrock and Elvis (Elvis is in the back).
Sorry I havn't posted in a while, my computer's card reader decided to quit working! I had to end up buying a new laptop. This one has the new Vista instead of the XP I am used to, and it doesn't want to install the software for my Cingular air card!
I did go through a few storms but not the worst of them. Only had 1 that was pretty bad and with an extremely light load (not even 5,000lbs!) it got hairy for a few moments. It was a small cell but a pretty bad one.
I went across I-44 and just after I got through Springfield MO and almost to Joplin they put out a tornado warning in Springfield! I did notice the clouds looked like the type that tornado's come from so I got the heck down the road! Glad I did! Guess as far as the "bad" weather I have been pretty lucky, lots of wind, some rain but for the most part it seems I have missed the worst of the storms!
I hope more people try to start posting, even if it is just stoping by and saying hello! If I can drive 600 +/- miles a day and find the time to post once in a while I am sure you can too! Also don't forget to invite your friends!!! Every member here as a whole is what makes this group what it is so please try to invite your friends and at least say hello!
I have a question for the men brave enough to be here on this group:
Why is it that if you give in to s** men all of a sudden seem to loose intrest in you but if you don't give in it is the same thing, they drift away? Seems us ladies are darned if we do and darned if we don't!!!! What gives here guys???? Can any of you men explain this???

One
person was killed and four others hurt Thursday when this red pickup
truck, left, jumped the curb and slammed into vehicles in the Rodeway
Inn parking lot on the Golden Mile in Middlesex.(Karissa Zimmer/The
Sentinel)
Accident victim was to start new job today
Four others were injured in the crash that killed a Florida man.
Harry
Casey enjoyed fighting roosters professionally in the Philippines and
was “all excited” about graduating from the Interstate Trucking Academy
in Melbourne, Fla. last Friday.
He was to accompany a lead
driver on his first run for CRST trucking company today after four days
of orientation at CRST Regional Way’s Safety and Training Office on
Allen Road in Dickinson Township, says his friend and fellow new CRST
employee James Carnell.
But Casey, 42, of Altha, Fla., was killed in a collision in Middlesex Township on Thursday
Afternoon crash
About
3:30 p.m., a pickup truck jumped a curb in the 1200 block of Harrisburg
Pike and plowed into two cars that were parked at the curb at the
entrance of Rodeway Inn.
Authorities
say Casey was getting into his vehicle, which Carnell says was a rental
car, when Bethany Smith, 55, of Marysville drove her pickup truck over
a curbed island separating Harrisburg Pike from the Rodeway Inn parking
lot. The truck smashed into Casey’s vehicle, pushing it into a third
vehicle that Carnell says other new CRST employees had rented.
CPR performed
Carnell said another CRST employee, Thomas Beard, performed CPR on Casey right after the collision.
Cumberland County Coroner Mike Norris pronounced Casey dead at the scene as the result of multiple traumatic injuries.
Besides
Smith, two other pedestrians in the parking lot and the driver of the
third vehicle were taken to hospitals for their injuries, the coroner
says.
Michael Boyle, 40, of Auburndale, Fla., was standing near
Casey’s Buick, while Bobby Glasscock, 43, Marion, Ind., was standing
near a Toyota Echo in front of the Buick, police say. Bethany Laporte,
26, Providence, R.I., was behind the wheel of the Echo.
Laporte
and Boyle were treated at Carlisle Regional Medical Center, and
Glasscock was treated at Hershey Medical Center. All were later released
The pickup truck driver, Smith was treated at Holy Spirit Hospital and released.
Attended school together
Motel
occupants gathered in the office after the crash to watch investigators
through a large front window. Carnell said Casey was probably preparing
to take the rental car back to the company when he was killed.
The
two knew each only other a few months, since they started attending the
Florida trucking school, Carnell said, but they became fast friends.
“When you’re going to school with someone all day long, and then you’re staying in the same house...” he commented.
Casey, an Army veteran, and Carnell, a former Marine, razzed each other about their respective military service.
“We were just like night and day. We just hit it off great,” the long-haired biker said of his clean-cut friend.
Carnell
taught Casey about being a biker, and Casey regaled Carnell with tales
of breeding roosters for fighting in the Philippines, a sport that is
legal there.
“He was a fantastic guy; the kindest-hearted man,” Carnell said about two hours after Casey’s death.
Carnell,
also of Florida, already has a spot picked out on his leather biker
vest for a new patch to memorialize Casey, right above the one for a
friend who died earlier this year of congestive heart failure.
Carnell said Casey had a fiancee and many friends in the Philippines and a son and ex-wife in Maine.
The group had arrived in the area Saturday and started orientation at CRST on Monday, Carnell said.
Help sought
Anyone who has information on the crash is asked to call Middlesex Township police at 249-7191.
FYI
Well the crooks have found a way to rob you of your gift card balance.
If you buy Gift Cards from a display rack that has various store cards you may become a victim of theft. Crooks are now jotting down the card numbers in the store and then wait a few days and call to see how much of a balance THEY have on the card. Once they find the card is "activated", and then they go online and start shopping.
You may want to purchase your card from a customer service person, where they do not have the Gift Cards viewable to the public.
Please share this with all your family and friends...
