My Wish for You in 2008 May peace break into your house and may thieves come to steal your debts. May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet of $100 bills. May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may laughter assault your lips! May your clothes smell of success like smoking tires and may happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy. May the problems you had forget your home address! In simple words ............ May 2008 be the best year of your life!!!

What have you planned for the new year? Did you make any resolutions? Are you planning on any major changes in your life? What are your hopes and dreams for 2008?

I am going to quit smoking, have set the date for the 9th but it may be sooner than that. It is my B-day present to myself. If anybody has any suggestions on how to get through it please let me know! It isn't going to be easy that's for sure but I know for a fact it is getting to the point that I had better stop because I can feel the affects and some are not too good!

dixie,
you have to do it on your own. and most important you have to want it. don't try plasters, chewingums, akkupuncture etc. everyone i know that tried one of these ways failed. only way to do it is "cold turkey" will last between 2 weeks and a few months
best of luck!!!!!! you can do it

Tomorrow is the big day, I QUIT! I have just enough cigs left to last untill I go to bed tonight. Tomorrow is Q-Day, I can't think of any better gift to give myself than to quit smoking! It isn't going to be easy to go from 2-3 packs a day but I have made up my mind do it. I have some regular gum and some hard candy and a straw I have cut in small pieces to use as a sort of pacifier but I know it is going to be a while before the urges settle down. I have quit before and know the urges really never go away but it is either burry them or they are going to burry me! Thanks for your support and kind words!

good for you for deciding to quit. smoking is an awful expensive hobby. i know it must be so hard for you if you are use to two packs a day. my hubby tried to quit once before but started shaking and felt he "had" to have a ciggarette. maybe he'll try again one day.
