Just want to say thank you for the invite Roxane! I love groups like this it is a true blessing to have them around. I have done big sister and big brother, young marines, volunteer work at the local schools, OIF, and other assorted things. I am still apart of some the above programs but it is hard with my work being what it is. I love children and anything I can do help I will just give the tools and off I will go! Thank you again for the invite and for being such a wonderful caring women to start this group!

Roxanne, thanks so much for the invite to this amazing group! I am so excited to start sending cards and doing what ever I can do to help bring a little sunshine to these kids and their families! If each of us sends even 1 card a day to a sick child, think what an impact we can all have! Yea!!!
Blue, Ann, Cindy, Tracy, Roxanne P., and Nance>>>WELCOME Friends....thank you for joining and I look forward to getting to know all of you and together putting tons of smiles on the childrens' faces!!! Please check out our September b-days, Happy mail links, guidelines, and mini fundraiser. Again...
This is a way of "helping others" and this way "help" childs.
Childs "are part of the world" I mean the childs today will be the adults of tomorrow.
Don't we "help" adults (at least I do "such thing")?
The same with the childs the childs today will be the adults of tomorrow today are "young" but they will be adults... so one kind of "adults" more to help "young adults" but the adults we "help" have different ages and we help all this "adults" are young now but they will be adults
How I "help"?
I want to help others but there are a lot of countries with "problems" so... how can I help? Each day I "vist" webs where you only click where the web says and several "bussisnes" pay money to help that need people but... there are "a lot" of webs of that "type/kind" so I "visit" each day a web with links to "a lot" of webs "of that" What web? Well I live in Spain, so I visit the spanish version of the "English" http://www.maxpages.com/charityclick the spanish version is of that web is http://chaes.iespana.es and in http://chaes.iespana.es you can find The Great Invocation, very "useful" nowadays and "using it you can help even more. Don´t worry about the language. Althougt http://chaes.iespana.es is in Spanish whe you click La Gran Invocación you can choose to see that "section" in English or in Spanish (it will be show in Spanish but you can choose to see it in Engish). Remember http://chaes.iespana.esWITHOUT THE 3 W is the spanish version of http://www.maxpages.com/charityclick
Not just for the invite, but for what you are doing here: this is absolutely wonderful, what you are doing for these children...Thank you...Love and Peace, Nx

Thank you for creating this group, allows those of us who are doing what they can to help out children to reach everyone now. I am a paramedic down here in South Florida. Cindy knows me from other groups, also knows of a project that is still in its infancy stages called Giving Hands Caring Hearts that I am working on. Hoping to get ideas and information from those here on how to better work on it.

Thanks for establishing this group and for all the goodness sent to these special children by all the group's wonderful members.
I am soooo pleased to have just found this group. Having just this minute joined, I need to read up before actively participating in this wonderful endeavor. Thanks for being here...

I want to help......I would love to send postcards. I think postcards are so pretty and they always brighten my day. You tell me who, when and where and I am there.
Everyone can make a difference and that is why I am here!
Hi. . .Umm, I just joined this site, this is only the second day I've been on but this group looks so sweet. I suppose I will introduse myself. . . My name's Simone and I'm still in High School in Illinois. I really want to help out and this may be a good place to do it - I am not sure exactly what I can do now to get involved, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks much.
Well, I am not afraid to say this ... the fine man who invited me to join in here happens to be the best hugger in the world - you could not possibly have a finer advocate for your efforts than Derek. Any child fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of this wonderful medicine would be receiving the best possible energy! Thnaks for inviting me, Derek. I hope I can live up to your very fine example!
Hi! Do any of the children have email? I handle that better than snail mail due to my disability. My hands shake, and it's hard for me to get letters into envelopes.
Thanks for the Invite Blue Hound September 09, 2005 4:51 PM
Thanks for the invite. I am still so new around here that you may have to tell what to do. I have limited computer time so please let me know what to do. I will track this topic so that anyone can reply and tell me how to do this. I will also send an invite to another friend of mine who loves children.

I just found this group. I'm at a point in my life where I don't know where to turn. My daughter Missy who is 10 years old has been very ill for the past year. Her airway is the size of a pencil. So breathing has been very hard, she has to have someone with her when she eats incase she chokes and she sleeps with me so I know
if she can't breath in her sleep. Wednesday the 21st. she goes in for surgery to try and open her airway. We are not sure if this will work, she may end up better or worse off. We are all scared. Please pray for my baby.
Hi Roxanne - the word 'welcome' has such a beautiful sound. Here in the middle east they say 'welcome' (not you're welcome) when you say 'thank you'. "thank you" "welcome". You all are helping me stay connected to love, stength, caring and hope. I can feel disconnected (and I am physically) so come here to stay connected!
Thank you for making a loving, caring group such as this. And reminding me just how fragile life can be. I drive a metro mobility bus here in MN. and my passengers are those who might otherwise have no transportation. Exspecially the people who use wheelchairs,so I take every oppertunity to tell them,I'm sorry they can't drive...but thanks for giving me a great job like this...lol. I've been there 12 yrs.in oct. Also let me say you must be a wonderful person also. Glad to be a part of your group...Char..(o/)(o/)..keep the angels close..peace

Hi! I found this when Roxane sent out a network message and it looks like a great group! A few years ago I met a little girl who was struggeling with cancer and set up a similar (small scale) program for her. I asked friends and family members to send me little cards and gifts which I would forward to her. It made her so happy I'd love to do the same for another child.
(She has since faught off most of the cancer and is doing great!)
I just received a network msg. about Halloween cards for the children and I love the idea so here I am. Thank you to both hosts for such warm hearts and spirits. I was wondering if the children prefer actual cards or e-greetings. I can do either, but, I know that actual cards are more tangible and esp. as I was reading one of the posts, stickers are fun...So, please let me know and I'll do my best. Again, thank you for having this group. I love being among other friends too, who have such love to give. This is what's going to end the war, fear, hate and prejudice that now is trying to rule our world.
Wendy, I personally think snail mail is more tangible, but both are equally well received. Whichever one you can do will be great. I only sent the network message out for emails as this does not require any monetary expense and if you send them from Care2, it's a double-dip for the time you spend.

I stumbled upon this group only a few moments ago, and it just tugged at my heart and I thought it was one of the finest ideas on Care2!! I was only today contemplating ways to live a more positive and healing existance. These children's angels are rounding up members for here, also, it seems!!

Got an invite in my messages this morning, and tho' I, too, was trying to delete some groups, this one seems perfect for me. Just what I was looking for when I came to c2c a few months ago. I'll check out the threads and see what I can do for these precious children. I have no money, but lots of time to spread a bit of cheer. Count me in !!
Thank you Joanne C for the invite! I was hoping to cut down on some of the groups which I'm a member of, but this just seems like such a great idea how could I refuse to be a part of it? I'll do whatever I can to help spread a little happiness around!

Roxane, thanks for the invite. I will see what I can do....Actually, my major is sign language interpreting, and I have some fingerspelled cards here. Can I send them to a specific Deaf child(ren)? Hook me up-I would love to! Thanks....
I can only add my appreciation for the time, thought and energy that has gone into organizing this group, and add to the KUDOS for its creation! I'm happy to add a hearty YES to the invitation, and I will do what I can to grace the final days and hours of each precious gem and their families with peace and hope eternal. I know that the few thanks each of you receive is less recompense than the joy you receive each time you put a completed card or package in the mail. Thank you for giving of yourselves.

I am a mother of 4 children, 2 with disabilities. I am quite an advocate on their behalf and I feel great compassion for all children and or adults who suffer in any way. We can do so much for those in need through loving and kind words and action.
God bless everyone here!!! This is a wonderful board Roxanne!
Oh my gosh, I just looked, and realized I never introduced myself...I joined back in September I think it was...lol...OOPS! Anyway, I have been sending email to some occaisonally. I haven't kept track though...another OOPS! I will start keeping track...Happy New Year everyone!
Hello Im Anjee and would like to thank Roxane for the invite. As of right now My daughter is currently in the hospital and has been since Thursday due to her CRMO, in laymens terms its a rare diease that attacks the bones. Her doctor I found out only has 2 paitents with this and one comes from NYC to De to be treated for this.
I read on another group about the Valentine e-cards .. I had to join, I did not know this group was here. A little about me will explain ~ I am a cancer survivor, from a rare childhood illness that killed most at that time. I worked in many oncology departments and also did medical research before the illness resurfaced as a form of Myologic Encephalitis. That means I live with chronic pain of the spine and brain among other things.
In California, I volunteered with a similar group when my best friend's daughter got a brain tumor. Now, I do what is available from the computer.
Hello. I just saw this group and immediately joined. Because of health reasons I may not be able to get in the group as often as I like so if anyone needs cheering up please e-mail me at heal4michael@care2.com and let me know. I like helping and will do as much as I can. When I was sick as a kid I would have loved something like this. Thanks for letting me join.
