Memory lane
When I was a kid, during holidays, my dad & uncles would put each other down and talk up their own branch.
I had a friend in the Marines who was great at martial arts. He was trained to fight blindfolded.
So this thread is to tell stories about the Marines and put down the other branches if you like...all in fun.

*LOL* I can't put down any branches. I have family members in the USMC, USN, USAF, and USA. I guess that leaves the Coast Guard, but anyone who wears a uniform and protects others is a hero to me, regardless of which uniform they wear.
Clarify that please!

I had a coworker who was ex-Air Force. When he found out that I grew up in the Marine Corps, he started comparing the forces. The Marines, he said, were more offensive. When I just stared at him, confused, and little p.o.'d, he laughed. "I mean, they're the first to go in, they have a great offense, you know, like a football team! They're tough!" I thought he meant that he found them offensive, like dirty and disgusting.

Naomi -- I have family in different branches also...which is how I heard the jibes.
And my dad was Coast Guard.
Brenda -- As long a I recall, different branches kidded each other.
The Marines, according to the grape vine, physically have the toughest basic camp.
