anonymous CIN2 November 14, 2007 10:00 AM

Hi everyone. I am new to this site. I just had some disturbing news today and was hoping to find someone to talk to who may have gone through the same thing. I've been having trouble with the abnormal pap smears for a few years now. Last month, I did the coloscopy and it showed CIN2. So last week I had the leep cone biopsy done. My md just called today and said results still showed CIN2 and that they would "watch me closely." I'm nervous! I dont want this to develop further. I asked him what I could do and he said nothing except eat well, exercise and manage my stress level (something I REALLY need help with). Well I hope someone responds I'd like to hear from other people with the same thing.  [report anonymous abuse]  [ accepted]

Hi, I was told I have cin3 and also had a leep done about 2 weeks ago. I have not heard the results, but I have heard from several people that they have had to have a leep years ago and they are all fine. I have heard this from close friends and friends of friends. So it made me feel like it isn't as serious as I thought. I think it's very common and since it has been found early that is good also.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

How long ago did you have the Leep? so they found more cn2 after the leep? thats weird that its cn2 right off the bat. it usually takes time to get there and starts out as cn1 first. i had cn3 and a leep a year ago. i get paps every 3 months now. my last few paps have been "normal". but he does a colcoscopy too and the last two times he saw early early abnormal cells that the pap didnt detect. in the early stages (CN1) its really easy to treat in the office. they just put an acid solution on my cervix which sort of sloughs away the very thin surface layer. my last check up, my cervix was fine! i think it takes a little while for the hpv to mellow out. ALSO you can take vitamin A and folic acid. buy metagenics vitamins, cuz they work the best. see a naturopath who can put you on them cuz you cant buy them in stores. aLso you can take cod liver oil which has a lot of VIt A in it! its very good for you. anticancer and helps with depression too. nordic naturals is the best. take any antioxidants and immune boosters that you can. green drinks are great. any herbs that help the immune system. see a naturopath cuz youre regular doctor wont tell you all the different things you can do to fight it. and there are lots of things. i have posted up a lot of stuff here but since not many people post they disappear, but maybe its all in the archives somewhere. dont worry too much about it. and if you only have stage 1 abnormal cells next time, they wont need to do another leep . they can just put the acid stuff on it. it doesnt hurt really. but dont only rely on paps for follow up visits cuz theyre not always accurate. keep having them do colcoscopies (when they look inside with the microscope) cuz thats the most accurate way of seeing whats going on. dont freak out. its gonna be ok. cervical cancer is the slowest moving cancer there is, so if they keep a close watch on it, youll be ok. they should always do colcoscopies WITH the paps. request that they do because paps arent always accurate. another thing is acupuncture. a lot of women who go thru this are yin deficient. they can help balance out your yin/yang energy and it makes a big difference. you might be blood deficient too. i was. not anemic. its kind of different in eastern medicine. women are more prone to it than men since we have periods. get all the holistic complementary medicine you can find! it all helps.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

hi December 27, 2007 8:11 AM

>and then i get a letter asking me to ring and book up for a loop cone. I had that done 3and a half weeks ago and they told me it had gone from borderline to severe cin 3 im confused. AFTER you had the leep cone they told you it had gone from borderline to severe cin 3? when you say you had a borderline smear what do you mean? theres cin 1, 2 or 3. cin 3 is borderline cancer, aka carcinoma in situ. its abnormal cells but theyre isolated in an area, not invasive like cancer. they dont travel into the cervix, they stay on the edge. thats what i had. so i had a LEEP and afterwards they biopsied what they removed and saw a tiny spot of invasive cancer. so i had to have another surgery cuz they had reason to believe there could be more cancer. so i did and there wasnt anymore. they got it all the first time with the LEEP. so it was a better safe than sorry surgery. now my cervix is fine. did they get all of the dysplasia out or do they want to do another surgery? please explain. youll be fine btw. cervical cancer is the slowest moving one there is. so even if there is a tiny little bit of it at the edge, like mine, they can get it out really easily with no need for chemo or radiation or anything!!! what do they suggest you do now ? if its just cin 3, the leep cone should have taken care of it. did it?  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
