Back to normal clicked for all.
Error unable to click.
Thanks Graham, I will go back and try to find it. Mx PS Hope I am still breaking the law in TEN YEARS TIME ALSO, you cannot keep a good old gal down. OINK!
It was ok Thanks. Had to drive further down the coast to find an Indian Restuarant where we could eat OUTSIDE and was dog friendly, Ricci is eating some pretty alarming things, digs on the mountain and then hides "stuff" for later, his latest is a poor dead fox, we keep on burying it and he keeps on unearthing it and flying in with fox bones! Also metal, bricks, anything, he is crafty and hides them under beds, behind the sofas, so he has to comes everywhere with us. Had a good Indian lunch with a couple of friends who looked extremely fetching in jeans, jumpers, coats, hats and scarves, wasn't that cold, methinks they were making a point!!! No it was good, we had a laugh and I got some lovely pressies. Thanksxx
Done, HOW was your b-day?
Graham Pray Tell and Share. Everybody Loves nice "stuff" related on their Birthday, love hearing stories about me, normally they are so far from the truth they make me far more interesting than I really am. Am waiting with bated breath.
Clicking for bowls of food.Well glad youv'e returned back to what you were in the first place Adrian,Care 2 has a lot to answer for and so does Margaret but that's another story.
Still clicking > 2257 bowls of food have been donated today
Gabee, you'd be surprised how many people might assume I'm a she just by the name, if there's nothing else to indicate my gender. Not that it's a big deal really, it's usually just an honest mistake, but it's still always puzzled me. Adrianne, Adrienne, Adriana, maybe. Oh well.
DONE. Your profile must have changed Adrian I always knew you were male, Welcome to OUR WORLD!!!!
I think it's great that Adrian is so in touch with his feminine side
Names mean nothing, Andrea is a female name in Germany, but a male name in Italy.
I always thought you are a woman because it said so in your profile. Sorry about that and it was forsure the quickest sex-change in history.
Is that so, Adrian ? Odd ... I would never think of someone called Adrian being a she ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!! May all your wishes come true this new year !!
Barb !! Thank you for the wonderful news
Happy tears watching the joy of those activists hugging the puppies in their arms !! It's too late tonight ... ITomorrow I'll share the video with all my friends .. ( except you all here )
What the??? =/ I don't know how or when Care2 decided to insist that I must be a she. Either way I've gone and corrected that in my profile. Maybe that was their way of saying happy birthday. Happy for those puppies and always in admiration of activists fighting on the ground.
Well there are plenty of happy tears being shed in Espana also. WAY TO GO ITALY. When they say the puppies the police took back would not be accepted by the killing station because isolation had been breeched, did they hand the beauties back to the Activists? I cannot believe this still goes on. I worked for weeks last year trying to get the exact facility stopped in the area I used to live in The UK breeding these beautiful dogs for "research", I was in total shock when somebody contacted me ask if I had heard, spent weeks emailing these murderers and the council (who I used to work for) to get it stopped. The last thing I heard plans had been "halted", I was ready to fly back to begin a live protest outside the gates. These monsters are sadists and murderers, exactly the same over the monkeys, mice, rats, etc. Barbaric in the 21st Century. Thanks Barb.
That was always the case that she is a she.
I was just crying for 30 minutes, but tears of happyness.
I used to live in an italian town in the 90s and then one more year in 2008.
One day we walked our Alba pooch up a Hill and it was a beautiful area and we heard all this barking, and there were hese huge stables and I had no idea what it was, then I found out they r breeding beagles, and I tried to find people who are appaled like me but NOONE was interested. In 2008 the "lager" was even bigger and it was unbarable to walk by there. I wanted to leave this town for good. And now I googled it and the "lager" and found out that finally in 2012 people had enough and that they closed it down, but they are still in trial, next date now in January.
STOP VIVISECTION; it is inhumane and so evil.
Clicked...what gorgeous, cute pics Barb and Graham
Don't you just lurrrve my new Christmas Wellingtons.
OH WOW. Putting it like that and the gorgeous piglet, domestic relations RESTORED!
LOVE THE PIG. It is my nick-name, Mike calls me Pig or Piglet. Ummm come to think of it now I have seen it in print maybe not so flattering! DONE
Indeed the good man was Graham, but for all I knew he could have been swallowed by man eating fish, so am relieved to know he is intact and in fine fettle.
Will hold you to that Adrian!! Mxxx
No worries Margaret, though I am stretched for time I am clicking and signing all I can everyday, I just don't always leave a "clicked" message these days. Also if you need me to help with anything in particular you can always send me a private message =)
Oh Barb, we all know how you feel, the pain is always there. I have just written about My Alex, my beautiful German Shepherd who was on Death Row he was my Best Friend and so loyal he never left my side. We lost him 30 years ago and I thought I was going to lose my mind through the pain and grief and vowed NEVER AGAIN. But we did and it happened again and again and again. I have his photograph in the lounge, sometimes I blow him a kiss and tell him how much I love him, other times I get a huge lump in my throat, he was my special boy. Benny is a different breed but equally loyal and has now gone grey around his muzzle, his whiskers are snow white, he is also my Special Boy and sometimes I just throw my arms around him, tell him how loved he is and shower him with kisses. Alba has soulful eyes and looks like a real character, she is in your heart and always will be. Kiss, Kiss Alba, Happy Birthday my Lovely. Mxx
Hey Adrian, can you "lurk" back to us por favor, we need you. Mx
I am always lurking. And clicking.
Clicked and Adrian popped up the other day but don't remember the page.Taz is probaly somewhere in the middle of an Ocean!!
CLICKETY CLICK. Because I don't always have the time to read everything and probably should know the answer to this but where are Taz and Adrian?
Clicked. Late today, had a very busy day.
Mine are "HUGE LOTTERY WINNER"! CLICKED.
OK, I will think about it and maybe we get lucky
Clicked and donated.
spoiled for choice are my 3 favourite words margaret
You do realize Geoff that Barb will not only rise to the challenge but you will probbly be spoiled for choice - the good lady ALWAYS finds the pick of the bunch......
Well I am, by my nature, spontaneous, and so it will change with the weather
I want a stunning picture that portrays animal beauty, suffering and inner strength combined with an implied acceptance that abuse happens and the ability to rise above it.
I thought that was an impossible ask, until I found the photo for The soul Cages, I think that photo achieves all of those things so I know it's possible now.
I was exceptionally fortunate there because the photographer (by yet another coincidence!) was a great friend of mine and gave me unfettered rights to use the pic at zero cost.
There's your challenge my dear lady
So, tell us what exactly is your idea about the front cover ???
haha Ok, I promise to do that
Keep an Open Mind My Friend, ALSO your options open!!!
Haha maybe there is a god after all, I take it all back
Although, on second thoughts.....
It was a bit of a coincidence Geoff, I was a bit gob smacked when I received a Star directly after reading about your wish for a Sanctuary for Cows, had to post that one!!!
OMG Margaret-do i believe in coincidences? I do now
signed and i will try to find out more
Clicked 5 times and Signed petition Margaret. Thank you x
By coincidence Geoff, just received a Star for a Petition I signed, if you have not already seen it, I think you will definitely add your monika.
Let us believe the Lovely is crying with happiness because she has just been rescued and is now living in 5 Star Luxury with lush grass and plenty of love. Often with books it can be the domino effect, as you know you give away so many initially in the firm belief it will be recommended and well received. I have never worked with novelists, would have loved to, some of mine included A History of Hull, Hessle Road a Village within a City. A Chronology of Joseph Conrad and dozens more, these were normally published through the Hull University Press after being selected by a committee, anything I chose was normally always overlooked, apart from the two above, both of which went into second print, here's hoping Geoff. CLICKED
Oh gosh-this one tells a story!
This post was modified from its original form on 04 Jan, 6:37
Where is this from?
seriously? Wow, that's fab news
We should be clear, nobody gets rich from self-publishing, and that was never the intention, it was more a form of therapy and getting the message out there to people who just don't know what they are doing to animals when they eat and wear them, so all you guys who already know what goes on in the world is the 'wrong' audience, but please don't let that stop you reading it-I think you will enjoy the book regardless of the underlying message.
It's worth buying just for the cover photo to be honest-taken by a great friend of mine whose head is f*cked after some nasty military experiences...he's a real gentle giant and has such a talent with a camera, yet lives in poverty like a recluse. so sad. I donate some of the proceeds to a mental health charity for military veterans with post traumatic stress.
Thanks for your brilliant support.
And do you know what, if something amazing did happen, and thousands of people bought the book I would open an animal rescue centre for cows in a heartbeat...
Order your book and a friend of mine who is working for the national Bibliothek here in Luxembourg gone order some too .
Wow-I am humbled
Hope it lives up to your expectations!
It's a bit graphic in places...so be warned!
Me too. Definitely a book for our shelves.
I self published in the end because literary agencies were just too busy to read beyond the first few chapters and I was too proud to bend to their will (they wanted sensationalist explosive stuff in the first pages and while I am not stupid and can see exactly why they wanted that 'hook', I didn't wanna change the natural flow). Time will tell if they were right, I guess they ar the professionals, but they were pretty superficial.
I thought about the bookshop signing idea-I think I want to see how the first couple of months goes, if people generally like it and not just animal lovers.
It's written on two levels I suppose, a straightforward crime thriller but with the underlying truths about animal abuse.
I will let you read it and see how it comes across-enjoy!
Going to order today Geoff. The review is really good, I have worked with authors who have been slated often very unfairly by "arm chair critics" and it has hurt them deeply. Have you tried going into Bookshops with a copy? If you can manage to get a Bookshop Signing your book will FLY out of the door. Dashing out now, looking forward to reading it. Mx
That makes a total of 7 LOL
i feel a little guilty 'exploiting' certain avenues, but wouldn't do it at all if I didn't believe in the book and the underlying messages
Would be REALLY interested to hear the views of such an ardent animal rights nut like you!
ps-yeah, and I guess the Sting CD/song was pretty instrumental (no pun intended) in the choosing of titles
Hmmn...the testimonial was by an animal rights fanatic - one of 'our' kind, so a little biased I feel.
But I do think it will make interesting reading on whatever level you choose to adopt.
i hope you enjoy it
Well done, Geoff !!!
I've just marked as my favourite in Amazon !! What a nice testimonial you've already got )) I'll read it very soon !!
... " The Soul Cages might well change your life…… " hummm ... promising !!
Checked and it works. The Signatures over this Petition are pitiful as is often the case. What is the matter with people, Lola watched her baby die a long and lingering death, her babe died at the end of a bloody rope and the innocent received far less than 2000 NAMES? &&&%%%%ing SHAMEFUL. Off to bed to cuddle my family it is better than throwing up.
Aaw-signed the lola petition.
as for the book...ooh a professional (gulps) well if you promise not to rip it apart actually, please feel free to give me honest feedback, but please please please don't lecture me on 'third person tight' - I DON'T WANNA WRITE THAT WAY ALL THE TIME AND I AM CHEESED OFF WITH ALL THE EXPERTS TELLING ME I SHOULD GRRRRRRRR (sorry-end of rant!)
It's available as a real book or kindle version (I am a real book lover so would never advocate e-books, but one has to go with the technology sometimes!)
You can get it from Amazon or Barnes and Noble
Currently trying to get it onto some shelves in proper book shops, but it's tough!
I would love to give a free copy to every 'true' animal rights campaigner, but I have already exhausted my funds
I have edited many Books Geoff, normally academic, you have floored me with your content but would love to read it, where can I purchase it? The text is certainly different and opens
up a different sub-text. I am enthralled. Please send on your ISBN and I will definitely buy it.
Really have to go to bed now, have worked hard all evening re. animals. Please read below. It is such a wonderful ending for Lola. She must have suffered so much over her dead youngster, JUST LOOK AT HER HAPPINESS. Mx
Well it's a sequel to my last shocker
The first book (The Soul Cages) is about about an animal rights nut who decides to reverse the roles and kidnaps people who have done bad things to animals and keeps them in battery hen conditions...for a while. The sequel follows on from that.
it's only in draft form at the moment so it's a good time to search for the right photo for the cover, so any suggestions very welcome
What is your next book about Geoff?
Hugs, Geoff, I will send some pics your way, I am totally "anal" about GOOD photos
Wow 5 hours is beyond my tolerance, even for the worthiest cause on earth.
I did the doggy walk in the rain thing too-and met only dog walkers, we are a crazed bunch!
What a fab hippo picture-where did you find it? (currently looking for a cover for my next book and so shamelessly begging all budding photo artists to give me ideas!!)
Geoff, I am at my PC for a solid 5 hours, posting petitions, signing and whatnot---I used the crappy rainy day to catch up and do my chores as host, which I neglected a lil during the holidays.
Of course--FIRST I walked my pooch in the fields in the rain, then cooked for my parents and fed my mom. Now we will light the fireplace and will get my mom and she will have dinner in our room away from my dad's loud TV, whichs sound is accompaniieng me since 11AM--HELP.
