Petition to raise the minimun wage in... March 24, 2006 2:57 PM
The federal minimum wage is only $5.15 an hour. It hasn't been increased since 1997, even though the prices of gas, electricity, food, and housing have all been on the rise. Senator Edward Kennedy introduced the Federal Minimum Wage Act to help raise the standard of living for minimum wage workers. He's asking for people to sign on as citizen co-sponsors to this bill to help show Congress there is broad support to increase the minimum wage. Help make a difference - sign on as a citizen co-sponsor of the Federal Minimum Wage Act!

Both of what you are saying is the reason why we should fight for congress to be paid minimum wage salaries...they sure aren't worth much more and the rate was rise quickly if we did....
Jeff, I will agree with you. $100 an hour is very good standard of living. No worries, have creature comforts as well as a good home. Yes Congress raise that minimum wage to $100 an hour.
