Deep-sea shark populations are at extreme risk due to commercial exploitation, including the beauty industry's promotion of squalane, an ingredient found in shark liver oil.  But olives can produce the same benefits - without killing animals!

Dr. Susan Lark, a popular physician who often writes about beauty and skin care, is quick to gush over the "magical" benefits of squalane, but not so quick to clarify that her product is derived from the threatened populations of deep-sea sharks. 

Deep-sea sharks typically mature late in life and have only a few young during their long lives. As a result, populations suffer and recover very slowly.  They must be protected from the beauty industry and the promotion of ocean-derived squalane.

Squalane supposedly will "positively transform skin forever," but it will also deplete the population of sharks forever.

Please tell Dr. Lark to reconsider her beauty advice and to stop exploiting deep-sea sharks for the sake of cosmetics >>
