Timeout? WTF?? July 21, 2008 7:17 PM

http://www.care2.com/c2c/groups/disc.html?gpp=5462&pst=960071

WTF is a timeout? Is this some new feature? This is the emssage I get:

Time-out! Group members have revoked your posting privilege.

I only made one past. It has not been flagged:

Voting for third parties does waste your vote. I would only do it if the candidate was serious about electoral reform to fix the problem. Fortunately both Obama and McCain support instant runoff voting.

Hey, look!

It's fish guy.

Could this have to do with the fact that Dale is a host?

That Time-Out feature has been there for awhile but I thought it was only accessable when the host was deleting a post. After you choose "Delete Post", it asks you if you want to give the member a Time-Out.

It says group members, but nothing about the host. I got no PM or email about yet. Yes you are probably right about Dale. He probably found my post offensive or something stupid like that.

So much for 'restoring our liberty'....

That must be a mistake. The flagging feature isn't even enabled in that group. Technically, Dale is a "group member" and that may be the group member to which the notice referred.

Only the host can give members a Time-Out if the flagging feature isn't enabled.

Dale really, really, really, really, really hates you, doesn't he?

Dale just gets a bit annoyed occasionally. I'm sure he's a nice person, to his friends.

Also, none of my posts were deleted.

See, that's what I don't get. I'm pretty sure you have to choose to delete the post before it asks you whether you want to time-out the person.

I looked at that thread, and unless something was changed in it, nobody including Dale sounds like they were pissed off about anything.  I also clicked in your post above where it says "time out" and it flipped me to a page that told me I wasn't currently taking a time out, and to please respect the CoC, etc.

Really weird... July 22, 2008 4:42 AM

I thought they had to flag your post as objectionable too, but the post is still up and there's nothing objectionable in it... and I don't see anyone objecting either.

Glitch?

P.S. I agree with you. Voting for anyone but Democrats is voting for Republicans.

FD, at least you don't have to wear the dunce cap.

  BTW, what's wrong with Republicans??

Just because they're not the flavor of the month?

I plead with all here, do your homework, don't vote party, vote for the "person" you believe will best represent you..  Or in this case, the least worst.

Yeah, must be a glitch.  I saw that thread and sent Donald a star, of course I didn't send Freediver a star because every time I send him a star he invites me to one of his groups.

Freediver, have you tried posting again  in that group?

You (Americans) don't have to vote for Republican or Democrat.  You can vote for a third party candidate, or write in whoever.  A vote for the least worst is still a vote for the worst.

Voting for a Dem is the same as voting for a Rep - both the DNC and the RNC are controlled/influenced by the same people.

Freediver, I dunno why you got timed out but I'm checking into it.

<<BTW, what's wrong with Republicans?? >>

A much easier question to answer would be what's NOT wrong with Republicans.

Christian, you're a Republican, you just don't realize it yet.

One thing wrong with Republicans, at least at the national level, is their failure to provide me with anyone I feel comfortable voting for, ever since I was old enough to vote...

I loved the interview where the young lady said she was voting for herself as noöne represented her views.

Everyone should write themselves in~ that would certainly send a message!

A million way tie!!!

"What's wrong with Republicans?" July 22, 2008 3:00 PM

You mean, besides the fact that they're Nazis, or what?

Actually, they're worse than Nazis, but I digress.

Apparently both McCain and Obama support IRV. Hopefully America will fix it's demcoracy in the coming years.

We can always hope but sadly, America's "democracy" has now been reduced to an illusion at best.

I know...we have no business trying to "export democracy" when we have so little of it left at home.
