I thought it might be nice to have a Club Chat Room where memebers can chat and introduce themselves to each other. Anything is welcome here!
Hi, I have been a member here for a couple of years, and Care2 gives us a place to go to play a great part in saving animals, nature, habitats. Loving your new group Beth. Very wonderful. I am thinking of ideas, and will post as soon as I have some. Click donating on here is a way of charity. Thanks, Beth, for your actions in my group Saving Big Cats. Love always, elsalioness rooooaaaarrrr
I love Care2 as well! Its amazing and I feel like more people should be part of it because of how simple it is to donate, free of charge. And the most important thing is to remember that chairty is not all about earning money and donating it, it is about being part of something and supporting them in anyway possible. However small it is, your action could save a person/animal's life.
Thanks for the invite Beth - will see what I can - I honestly am on the laptop from morning til night unless trying to work my business on Etsy or working outside - I am extremely overextended everywhere but will do my best. Do love Care2 - have some great friends here - been a member I think 3 years.
Your welcome xx
Now a intresting fact about myself....urm....well I have suffered with epilepsy for as long as I can remember-my whole life it seems. I'm used to having fits and people reactions can be quite amusing sometimes. Panic, alarm, fear, unsure what to do! I'm used to it...yet still its annoying and bugs up my whole day. What about the rest of you? Any intresting fact about yourself?
I'm a relatively recent member of Care2 but plan to be as active here as I can be. This is such an amazing community and I am privileged to be a small part of it.
I love to draw, especially big cats. Recently got a sketch pad, coloring and drawing pencils. Am really excited. Maybe when I have some drawn I will post for all to see.
Beth thanks for sharing - I am an empath whether person or animal or tree etc - I feel what they feel.
Yes Rosie I feel the say way! I love this website a lot and have made lots of new friends just by created this group. If I haven't already friend requested you please message me and I will do. I think its nice to have contact with all my members.
I would love to see your drawings Ruth! I've never been much of a arty person myself. Have you always been able to draw or have you been taught?
Sorry, I have not posted anything. I actually thought there was no activity because I was not receiving the individual e-mails. This morning I was just about to check to see if the setting was right for the individual e-mail. However, before I did I had checked my e-mail and found that all the messages had finally shown up at once. Figured this might be the best post topic to post in.
Honestly, I try to get on the computer daily for several things. There are seven sites that I have found to do a click to donate and sign some petitions, Care2 being one of them. The others are http://www.ecologyfund.com/ecology/_ecology.html, http://www.redjellyfish.com/, http://greatergood.com/?utm_source=CTGtabs&utm_medium=TabLink&utm_campaign=TabBar, http://www.landcareniagara.com/, http://www.freekibble.com/ and http://www.freekibblekat.com/. Beyond these there are a number of pages on Facebook that have petitions, and than I receive some through the postal mail and e-mail. I also try to write letters, share the petitions that I can on Facebook and try to keep informed about a variety of topics and issues. Most of the petitions that I do find or sign have already been passed through the two other groups that I belong to on here, The Saving Big Cats and Amnesty International so I do not really re-post them or really post in the groups unless I find something that I have not actually seen on the pages.
In general I believe I have been doing these pages and things along these lines, and becoming more involved in the past few years since I had continued my education. At this point I guess I do what I do not to get recognition for it but because I honestly feel it what I can currently do and it is just the right thing to do, and I really enjoy it.
Well, I guess that is about it for now. At this point I really do not know what else to say about my involvement. Nor what else to say about myself that I feel comfortable sharing at this point. Everyone, take care.
Thank you for posting Holly, that same thing happen to me the other day. Its such an easy mistake to make but don't we all make mistakes sometimes in our lifes. I always do but I never regret them. "We must learn from what we did wrong. We can change the future", thats what my mum always said anyway!
"We can change the future" is one of my mottos and that is what made me make this group. Imagine if nobody did anything to help animals and our environment? The world would be a very bad place.
Holly please feel that you can post what you wish and nobody will ever judge you. Please message me hun and we can talk some more if you feel more comfy with that. I'm always here and btw thank you for the links xx
Thank you, Beth for the green star and kind words.
Your welcome Holly honey, please message me so I can get to know you better
Hi Beth!!,.. I'm finally getting around to feeling as if I have some energy to say hello, and share a short bit about myself.-
I don't know if any of you are aware of an educational transformational program called "Landmark Education," but I am a graduate of the program. I fully believe that living in a space of transformation, allows you to create a possibility for yourself and your life!
With this in mind, Transformation allows for the possibility for conscious living and unity, to share and express thoughts and ideas that enrolls others, within our own "Authentic aspects of Shamanism" and passions.
I think this "forum" you have created Beth, is the perfect opportunity to enroll others to share their fondness, concern and support for the existence of Big Cats and their safety and well being.
As you know, my passion and dream, is to someday see the wild life and Big Cats of South Africa and the Savannah. I would love to meet Garbriella Stabler, World reknown animal behaviorist and Wild Life Photographer!
More so, I hope to some day be able to meet Kevin Richardson, who is the proprietor and self taught animal behaviorist known as the "Lion Whisperer." He has a Lion sanctuary in South Africa called "The Kingdom of the White Lion."
I have recently exchanged emails with his wife, Mandy, upon my concerns regarding the financial challenges they have been having to keep the Sanctuary and Conservation
running. They have had interns and visitors coming to see the sanctruary to see how it is operated and more so, to see the unique relationship Kevin has with the lions. It has been Kevin's hope, that this will allow more recognition and support for the Kingdom, as he wants to make it into a safe lion park, that is NOT A PUBLIC FRENZY!
As many of you might know the original story behind "Born Free," Goerge and Joy Adamson were forced by the goverment to set their hand raised lion, "Elsa" free into the wild. It was an extemely painful decision they had to make, as they were not confident that Elsa would be able to survive in the wild. To their surprise, Elsa has been able survive and produce cubs in her life, aand able to survive in the wild.
George and Joy were able to go back and find Elsa, see if she was thriving,.. as she was, and to their surprise, Elsa still had her "hand raised instincts" to remember them when they called out for her!
I know it has been Joy's mission to keep the legacy of Elsa and the well being of the wild cat family safe and free from harm, this which became "Born Free."
The wild life and Big cats of the Savannah run a HUGE threat upon being saught by pochers and "Canned Hunters" which is a HORRIBLE aspect of hunting that should be outlawed!
By this same thought, Kevin Richardson has put his whole life and soul into his lions and the Kingdom. It would be devastating if he could not continue to keep the Kingdom running!
If the Kingdom had to be shut down, Kevin's lion's would run the threat of being sent out into the wild, if not sent to zoos.
Mandy and I have shared marketing ideas, and they are now in the process od being forwarded to Kevin's agent for consideration, as the website is being updated to will hopefull draw in a larger audience that will bring in support for the Kingdom of the White Lion.
If you don't mind me mentioning it Beth, I highly encourage everyone to get a hold of Kevin's book called "Part of The Pride." It is an AMAZING BOOK! IT IS TRULY INSPIRING! You can also find his videos on Youtube.
I do have one last thought, and that is in captured connectedness to what Ruth calls herself.. "elsaLioness." That is too funny, and too cool! One of my cats name's is "Elsie," but I also call him "Elsa" because he has the same personality of "Elsa" from "Born Free."
Over the years, because of my love for cats of all sizes, I am known as "Mama Lioness."
Thanks for allowing me this time and space to share, as I love forward to knowing you all!
Thank you for sharing that Jen and I think it is time to sya that after we have finished supporting Born Free Foundation we will move on to supporting Kevin Richardson and his kingdon. I have atcually getting his book for my birthday and I will give a little review on it once I have recieved. You can read an extract from it here and even buy it: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Part-Pride-Life-Among-Africa/dp/0312556748/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1373213572&sr=8-1&keywords=part+of+the+pride
I feel a connection with Elsa from Born free. I have her cub pic taped to my desktop. That is why I call myself Elsalioness. Cyoooot your cat named Elsie, Elsa, and acts like Elsa the lioness. So wonderful to have a name Mama Lioness. How cyooool.
I did a lioness drawing, but not done with whisker spots yet. Hope you like so far.
Thanks for sharing your drawing! It's very appropirate for our group, as it has a "Sentmental Mascot" feeling to it.
Ruth!! Thats wonderful! You are an amazing artists and I hope you will continue to show us your work. Why don't you create your own topic that you and others can post drawings and other things in such as poems and writing in?
I appreciate the kind words for my drawing. That is a good idea about topic for drawings, poems, etc.... Thanks for the idea Beth.
Ruth, well done for making a topic xx
And this is just a note that from Sat 13th to 20th I will not be online as I'm going away on holiday for the week. The place where I am staying has no wifi so I won't be able to post or answer any messages. That doesn't mean you don't have to post in the topics as I do wish you all to post and keep active while I am away. If you have anything important to tell me, please message me and I will try to reply if I can find a signal at all but I don't think I will. Well I better start packing

It doesn't matter Tasunka, its still art xx
Hey Tasunka hope you put bugs there. Like Beth said its art.
Quick note, can you all get yourself now to the topic which tells you about the new charity we will be supporting for this month: http://www.care2.com/c2c/groups/disc.html?gpp=68753&pst=1361898
Beth, I emailed you three video's of Kevin Richardson.
Is there anyone who knows how to post a Youtube video here? I have three I can post but I don't know how to?
Yes thank you for that Jen. I'm going up to London for the day so I will try to do it tonight or tomorrow. If somebody else wishes to do it please make a NEW topic.
Hey Beth! I know I told you I was cleaning house today, and I am, bu I took a break for a bit to play here,.. and get my mind off things, but my eyes are hurting my really really bas, so I'm going to call it a day and get some work done and make some dinner.
I have read your messages, as I will tell you about my name change, and hopefully..?? I'll have my mum's story (that you wanted to know about) as well. but it might come after my next letter to you.
I wish I had a printer but I don't right now, as I would make you a copy of my parent's picture of them standing in line at Queen Elizabeth's Coronation at Buckingham Palace, which I know would thrill you to death, along with all the other orginal memorabilia I have from the big day 60 years ago!
Jenevieve, To soothe your eyes try laying down for a few minutes, eyes closed, and very very thin slices of cool or cold (whichever feels best to you) cucumber on the lids.
I wish I had time to lay down Miranda! I'm cheating on my day. My house is so big that I can't get myself to do what I need to be doing!
I think that my sinuses and my TMJ might aslo be a cause, but if maybe in a bit, I will try that trick with the cucumber. I have some organic good stuff in the fridge.
Thank you Miranda! I am almost ready to call my doctor, they hurt so bad!
Thank you for the advice you gave to Jen there Miranda, I might just steal that little tip off you and use it for myself someday.
Beth,..How do you guys post pictures? It's the one thing I have not learned to do yet!
By the way, did you get "The Novel part 2" this morning that I sent you?
I post pics from photobucket. Copy and paste URL in tree icon above right. Hope that helps
Sorry I havent replyed sooner.
