some poems by melanie aka mahtame November 17, 2007 9:32 AM

A Love Story of Sorts He said he’s not the one She said, ‘ baby, I wasn’t born free, yesterday, I was born to be wild! I already got you babe!’ ‘N every morning and every night she sang ‘Sugar, sugar, you can’t buy me love, Cause you were born free Mr. Tambourine Man’ so put you’re hair down and come Ride with me on that fantastic voyage Down on that lonesome moon river We’ll sail away somewhere over the rainbow’ After a moment’s time in a bottle, all he Could say was big girls don’t cry, no more 96 tears, He said he would cherish her till the end of time And gave her trinkets of crimson and clover She said, ‘baby, don’t hurt me, and you won’t See me cry! Cause I got a hold on you!’ And then with much respect she exclaimed ‘I’m a wild thing, and if you can’t handle it, then Hit the road jack, and don’t come back no more!’ Copyright © 06/16/2007 MahTame  [ send green star]

A Temporary Running Away November 17, 2007 9:33 AM

A Temporary Running Away Driving down a 2 lane highway No set destination in mind to take Not so sure of what brought me here Wondering why my life feels empty Repeatedly playing a song from The soundtrack of Marie Antoinette Puzzled mind of yesterdays gone by Aimlessly heading nowhere north Watching over to the Cimarron River No sign of boats floating down it Thinking of journeys that could be Rowed in good and bad of endless seas Are my eyes cloudy like those in the sky? Breaking the dams of my eyelids Come the rushing torrents of mine tears Not really caring who might see them Coming into small towns not known Slowing down to see the structures ‘n Watching people living lives so similar Knowing time never stops and life goes on Turning off the a/c, opening the windows Feeling the warm breezes from the sun Viewing the country side and scenery Noticing the tenseness held tightly subside Taking a long drive into places unknown Makes the troubled soul not so sad anymore No longer are feelings of abandonment Ready to quit running and face life again © 06/02/2007 mccampos  [ send green star]

Arias for You and Me November 17, 2007 9:34 AM

Arias for You and Me Melodious voice sung so high and reverently Arias pleasant and simplistic movements Combinations of highs and lows she sings sweetly Words of Italian flare speaking of loves’ moments Humming tunes from arias of agone play repeatedly Dreamily wishing of life in distant lands and seas Orchestral violins vibrato reverberating sounds flee Unto the hearts and minds of all listening with ease Copyright © 07/31/2007 MahTame  [ send green star]

Autumn November 17, 2007 9:35 AM

Autumn In the autumn season Full of colorful scenes More night, less sun Leaves changing things Blankets and blankets Across the mountain tops Orange, yellow, and reds Golden hues falling, plops Pitter-patter, falling leaves Crunching, scrunch, crinkle Swirling in the windy gales Decorating with a sprinkle Birds journeying to the south Animals storing up food Many nuts filling a mouth Playful scurrying is viewed Crispy, fresh autumn air Light jackets and sweaters Walking amongst beauty there Preparing for the cold winters Copyright © 09/28/2007 MahTame  [ send green star]

Beautimus November 17, 2007 9:36 AM

Beautimus what lies yonder in the distant horizon cosmic showers of kaleidiscope prisms seas of sparkling waters glistening under the sun's bright rays what lies yonder in the distant horizon mountains of grandeur majestic peaks arising snow capped high above lush green cedars and poplar trees below what lies yonder in the distant horizon colorful wildflowers dotting the lush, rich meadowed landscapes busy with wildlife young and old animals what lies yonder in the distant horizon plateaus, buttes, 'n canyons interrupt the long, flat plains prairie grasses dancing from windy breezes Copyright © 07/13/2007 MahTame  [ send green star]

Blue moon's love November 17, 2007 9:37 AM

Blue moon’s love Blue moon smile upon my heart Set me free along the shoreline Wading in and out of soft waves Taking what are yours and mine Hand held in hand, genteel man Caresses of thy heart within me Soft breezes singing love’s song Into the moonlit night air’s sea Twinkling stars dancing around Into the vast dark heavens above Shadows rippling across the water Of two immersed souls in love Copyright © 10/26/2007 MahTame  [ send green star]

A Butterfly's Lover December 14, 2007 9:17 AM

A Butterfly’s Lover He pierces right through her With fixedly dark amorous eyes Haunting images from a monsieur Consuming the love she’ll disguise Such intensity, this gaping gaze Unto her heart and inner soul Searching through a lover’s maze With such fortitude as his goal Immense emotion and dauntless Deep is his desire to enrapture her, To steal her love with much success And become this butterfly’s lover Copyright © 09/12/2007 MahTame Inspired from song “Saturnine” By The Gathering  [ send green star]

if only love would be like this December 14, 2007 9:18 AM

if only love would be like this if only love would be like this and romance lasted forever squabbles and disagreements were moments of nothing much if only love would be like this and dreams of united bonding embracements, cuddling, holding cherishing two souls, two loves if only love would be like this man and woman, side by side loyal to their relationship only such wishes of this is what I wish if only love would be like this looking to each other as heroes protecting and holding always appreciating both loves forever Copyright © 12/02/2007 MahTame  [ send green star]

Losing a friend to a dishonest heart January 07, 2008 12:49 PM

Losing a friend to a dishonest heart

Deceit and disharmony in a friendship

Severs the bonding held between two

Trust packed up and went on a trip

Not sure if it will return and stay true

How sad a thing to lose a good friend

From dishonored behaviour displayed

With rarely a hope to make an amend

Of restoring the bond that was betrayed

Slow Dancing January 19, 2008 7:19 PM

Slow Dancing Slow dancing in your arms I’d want to get next to you And be embraced tightly as The melody speaks through Words playing on the player Lento movements barely go Hungering for your touch too From Unchained Melodies Listening to his word through Loving her with great passion Dreamily gazes into his eyes She moves her cheek into his Heartbeats rhythmically junto Pressed into tighter embraces Dances past the midnight hour ©Copyright 01/16/2008 MahTame [junto=Spanish for together]  [ send green star]

One legged soldier January 19, 2008 7:20 PM

One legged soldier Soldier from a war of long ago Sitting in an old wheelchair On the side of the highway Holding up a “homeless” sign ‘Tis cold out sir,’ here’s a five’ “God Bless You,” and “thanks” Trying to sit himself back down In his old wheelchair in the cold What were you like before the war? What was your purpose in life then? Soldier from a war of long ago Living with one leg, barely alive Has not made it back to reality No real home, no real life, nothing You put yourself up for your country You sacrificed yourself for freedom Now you’re back home on the street What honor has brought you here? ©Copyright 01/19/2008 MahTame  [ send green star]

She Sang to His Soul She sang lovely operatic tunes To a love she had of long ago Powerful words she sung true Dedicated herself to him though Arias with a melodious aire In hopes of entering his heart Vibratos reverberated lovingly Wished he would never depart Such lovely sonatas she sings Sweetly, daintily to him as if Made of the most delicate lace Holding on to his love eternally Does he know of what she sings? She gave of her heart and soul Perhaps unknown to this gent She had wished to make him whole ©Copyright 01/27/2008 MahTame Music: La Califfa by Sarah Brightman  [ send green star]

Some memories are best left behind February 20, 2008 4:36 PM

Some memories are best left behind Memories of the 60’s yesteryear Growing up in a time frame Where warriors fought in ‘Nam Slogans of ‘make love, not war’ Plastered on signs, cars, jeans Down with that war! Damn it! Long haired hippie flower child LSD, acid, mary jane, psychedlia 60’s rock and roll was the IT thing Political demonstrations, for peace? Freedom of speech taken to a max Opposite sat the good ole smiley face Great men shot down, assassinated “Peace” was wanted, but inequality Continues to be an issue among races The cry to end the war was sounded When it finally did, spit hit their faces Our soldiers, our warriors mistreated What hypocrisy!! What cruel disdain!! The welcoming home and parades Were so grand to the invisible eye History has its facts and fables Stories passed down, experiences felt The 60’s was just a part of one’s life But for our brothers, our warriors The life served in ‘Nam left its scars Some flashbacks are wished nonexistent ©Copyright 02/18/2008 MahTame aka Melanie C

Prayer for all People

Great Spirit

So much unrest

Continues

In this land

You have given us

Oh Father

Your people cry

Disharmony

In this land

You have given us

Grand Father

The people weep

Continuously

In this land

You have given us

Dau kei, God

Bring back love

Unconditionally

In this land

You have given us

Great Spirit

Calm our hearts

Console our crying

In this land

You have given us

His love for Her May 14, 2008 11:25 AM

His love for Her

Hidden

Tokens of love

Mysteriously sent

From treetops above

Droplets

Of emerald tears

Mixing with rubies

Fallen cascades appears

Warrior

Sounding of song

Through wooden flute

For his maiden all along

Echoes

Plinking in tune

Resounding of heart

From the stars and moon

Secluded

Letters of love

Outpouring of soul

From fond memory thereof

nostalgic tears

memories
from golden eras
nostalgic tears
remembering auras

journeys
sentimental roads
familiarities
remembrance reloads

reminiscences
historical moments
loves and likes
ingrained imprints

longing
points in time
returning to
well-known clime

flowing drops
upon wetted cheek
 memory ne’er stops
recollections seek
