Our MENLA Healing Circle! Discussions! January 16, 2006 12:54 PM

What are your interests in and about MEDITATION?  This is a good discussion point and place to begin, in wading into the Deep Waters of Meditation. Open to all forms of Meditation, and discussion about this, in General, this Group is headed towards more and more information and guidance in the Profound Literature, Study, Meditation and Practice of Dzogpa Chenmo, or more commonly, just "DZOGCHEN," from the Highest Ati Yoga Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, also known as the "Great Perfection." It is very tricky ... velly difficult ... to say much about this "esoteric" Meditational Practice in a Public Forum, but, with certain protocols and Samaya in mind, we shall move forward to provide some direction for each and every one of you that, primarily here in the WEST, may have the "Karmic Propensity" to connect with this Tradition. This is the INTENTION for this Adventure. Life, Light & Love, Sapan Rinpoche, 1:56pm in Lyons, Colorado, USA on January 16, 2006. =sapan=

MEDICINE BUDDHA MANTRA ... April 18, 2006 12:11 AM

  As the Buddha himself taught the Medicine Buddha in the Sutras and said that all people should practice the Medicine Buddha and recite his Mantra, I convey that here:

TEYATTA, OM BEKANZE BEKANZE MAHA BEKANZE RADZA SAMMUGHADDI SOWHA!

(Repeat this Mantra 7, 21, or 108 times, whenever you have time to practice, and many times each day, if your way is open to that!)

AN ABSOLUTE GEM ... February 06, 2007 5:52 PM

In a Chat with HOST Merril Gardiner from Australia the other day, she produced this wonderful piece of writing, and I QUOTE: "May the Dharma grow such deep roots everywhere on all continents that the essential meaning of the teachings of the Tibetan diaspora continue to benefit all living beings in all universes for Eons to come!" The utterance of a true Bodhisattva! =sapan=  [ send green star]

Medicine Buddha Mantra ... February 10, 2007 12:42 AM

Although the Medicine Buddha practice is a Supreme Anutara Tantra practice, at the 8th Yana of the Nine Yanas of Tibetan Buddhism, it is completely perfect for ALL, without Empowerment, to practice this Mantra (in the Anglisized Tibetan, from the original Sanskrit, below) as Shakyamuni Buddha gave the teachings about the Medicine Buddha in two special Sutras during his time of teaching. Thus, practice and make this Mantra your own, repeating it 7x, 21x or 108x during a usage of it. You will find that it has a profound effect in Healing and in Calming your Body, Speech and Mind, and very beneficial for Invocation towards Others!

"TEYATA OM BEKANZE BEKANZE MAHA BEKANZE RADZA SAMMUGHADDI SOWHA."

May your practices flourish, for the benefit of all sentient beings, everywhere.    =sapan r.=

My experiances May 14, 2007 2:50 AM

Well I have been meditating for a long time ( for me)..probably about 40 years. Symbols fascinated me early on and over time I have come to realize that they can sometimes be the keys..or maps to other planes or energies. From the old sigels that represented the archangels,  to manadals, those used in many other systems including Reiki. I am still learning new things about  and from them all the time. I am of course careful and haven't messed with any of those I suspect may key into something harmful or negative.  I first encountered the medicine buddha concept in the nineteen seventies and did some meditation with the images then...more recently as I have been studying more about Aurveda and Tibetan medicine I have come to value the medicine buddha even more. For me extended meditation on the buddha seems to help me develop even more compassion and empathy.  I find it very valuable in meditation  ( and dreams) to go visit the medicine buddha and ask for help in my healing work. Sometimes the buddha seems to send me information and/ or help as a result of these meditations and requests. I look forward to learning more about this as until now all my learnings have been self intiated through reading and meditation. It will be wonderful to have other input.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

WHERE I WOULD LIKE TO BEGIN TEACHING ... May 15, 2007 7:07 AM

Greetings, Sangha!  Om Shri Manjushri ... WHERE I WOULD LIKE TO BEGIN TEACHING, in this thread, our Menla Healing Circle DISCUSSION GROUP, is with the "COLOPHON" -- the concluding remarks about the Tantric Sadhana that I will eventually, with a LOT of preparation -- of the "Lapis Lazuli River," a jewel extracted from the treasury of the clear expanse of the mind of all the Lamas, gathered from the Sky of the Dharmakaya:

This TEXT (Menla Meditational SADHANA) is a jewel-like extract from the treasury of the thinking of all the Lamas [of all the sects of the Vajrayana (Tibetan Budhism), Great Mahayana, and Sutrayana, old and new].  It was gathered from the Sky of the Dhamakaya (i.e., it is an inspired writing that came in a vision of some sort) and arranged by Rakase (Chag-me, an emantion of Amitabha).  If there are any mistakes in it I repent them before the Deity.  But the virtue (of writing this text) may all the sickness of beings be ended and they quickly reach the level of Menla.  The Sutra Rite has the Bathing Prayer and when the rite entered the Supreme High Tantra Yoga, this practice was not changed.  The benefits of regular meditation on this rite are as follows: 1) If one is ordained (Monk/Gelong/Getsul/Bhikshu or Nun/Gelongma/Getsulma/Bhikshuni) then one's disciplined conduct progresses without regression. 2) But even if one has broken one's discipline (or Ordination), by practicing this rite until that obscuration is purified, one does not fall into  the Lower Realms (of the Animals, Hungary Ghosts or Disincarnate Spirits, and the Hell Beings). 3) When all the bad Karma causing rebirht in hell, as a hungary ghost and as an animal has been purified, (by practicing this rite) one is not born in any of these realms.  But even if one is born into one (of these lower realms), one is immediately released and reborn into one of the happy Higher Realms and from there one progresses by stages to Buddhahood.  4) Even in this life one will obtain food, clothing, etc. without trouble. 5) All causes of harm such as sickness, evil spirits, and malevolent demons, the King's sentence, etc. are pacified. 6) One is guarded and protected by Vajrapani {SR: the principal protector of a practioner's practice in the Sacred Vajrayana}, Brahma, Vishnu, the Four Great Kings, the Twelve Great Leaders of the Nochin Demons with their twice seven hundred thousand servants. 7) One is freed from all cause of harm like the eighteen causes of Untimely Death, enemies, wild animals, etc. 8) All of one's wishes will be completely accomplished and the other benefits that are explained in the two extended Menla Sutras {SR: which I will draw out and explain, below, eventually} are unimaginable.  9) {SR: The BENEFITS of practicing the "Lapis Lazuli River" sadhana, which I-I-I, Sapan Rinpoche, am going to extend into the Mind-Terma, "Lapis Lazuli Mountain" sadhana, are for the Hearts & Minds of the Fortunate Ones, and are unimaginable!} ... {SR: Meditate upon this!}.

This rite, "the "Lapis Lazuli River," is practiced by all the Four Schools of Tibetan Buddhism, old and new, and belongs to both the Sutra and Tantra Traditions.  It was used everwhere, in Old Tibet, as a purification ceremony for the living and for the dead by all the monks of the big monasteries of Lhasa and elsewhere in Tibet.  When one really has FAITH, there is no rite of greater benefit than that of Menla.  There are many extended and abridged forms, but this one has the least words while still containing all the essential elements.  Since it is in the Supreme (Anutara Yoga) Tradition (i.e., Vajrayana) there is no need to do purification practices and because one makes mind-emanated offerings, even though one makes no Torma Offering, the practice includes all that is necessary.  {END}

Thus, I have completed this Introduction to the "Lapis Lazuli River" Sadhana, out of the mind and recording work (and typing work  of other Scribes), and of the arrangement work of our precursor, Rakase, aka, Chagme, an emanation of the Buddha Amitabha, to prepare the additional teachings in this thread, and the eventual complete, thorough, presentation of the "Lapis Lazuli River" and the Mind-Terma, "Lapis Lazuli Mountain" Sadhanas, for the greater benefit of all sentient beings in the Sacred Ten Directions and the Four Sacred Times.  Done this 15th day of May in the "Gregorian" year 2007, and in the Tibetan Fire Pig Year 2134, and on this day of the Gelong's Sojong and the auspicious Anniversary of the Parinirvana of the Great Sakya-Nyingma Adept, Jamgon Ngawang Legpa, at the Kunga Tenphel Ling Dharma Center, in Lyons, Colorado, USA, North America. So Mote It Be!
