As we venture forth into this new year I am very excited about my Phuntsok Choephel Ling Monastery Project, which is now reconstituting its new Board of Directors and moving toward the purchase of THE LAND for our project.

Along with my other activity on Care2 and with my Dharma Center in Lyons, Kunga Tenphel Ling, I am working with our group here in Colorado to build a very special "Mountain Institution" -- that is what Boulder County calls it -- which will be located in the Mountain County of Gilpin, just South of Boulder County. Among other things, for the project, the Monastery itself, the Retreat Center, the Stupa, a Sculpture Garden, Mountain Rescue Helicopter Pad, we are creating a new "PCL Yogi & Yogini Contemplative Community," with YURTS, privately owned, positioned on our land to the Northwest of the Monastery [up the hill] and close to the Continental Divide. Nothing has physically manifested there at this point, but I know, IN MY HEART, that in future decades, it will be one of the focal points for the progress of the Western Dharma here in North America.

Phuntsok Chophel Ling, destined to be North America's Highest Monastery, will be an important center, in future decades, for the development of DZOGCHEN Practitioners along with other deep Vajrayana Buddhist and Contemplative Practices.

Although this project is being located in the RIGORS OF THE MOUNTAINS, along the Continental Divide at about 10,000 feet elevation, the SUMMER PROGRAM [July 15th to September 15th, beginning in 2007] will allow all that are interested to "Check It Out!"  AS IT IS!  See you.

It is HOT down in Boulder and on the Great Plains whooping up to the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains in Summer!  But one of the best-kept secrets in North America is how special the higher mountains along the Continental Divide are during our season! Backpacking, remote wilderness camping are very, very special here. Check it all out! Come to the Rockies in Summer, and go higher!  Your will not be disapointed, that is for sure!
